Bryce Aron Max Harper is an American professional baseball outfielder for the Washington Nationals (MLB). At 18 years old, Bryce Harper won the 2010 Golden Spikes Award that is awarded every year to the best amateur baseball player.
History
In 2009, Bryce Harper earned his General Educational Development (GED) that made him eligible for the June 2010 amateur draft in order to start his professional baseball career at an early stage. Harper enrolled at the College of Southern Nevada of the Scenic West Athletic Conference (SWAC) in National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) for the 2010 college season. There he hit 31 home runs, 98 RBIs, hitting .443/.526/.987 (AVG/OBP/SLG) in 66 games. His streak of 31 home runs shattered the school's previous record of 12 and Harper was named the 2010 SWAC Player of the Year.
MLB
Harper was routinely ranked as a top-3 prospect going into the 2012 season by leading baseball prospect-watchers, including MLB.com, Baseball Prospectus, and Baseball America. Standing at 6 feet 3 inches and weighs 225 lbs, Bryce Harper made his MLB debut with the Nationals on April 28, 2012 and became the youngest position player to ever be selected when he starred in the 2012 All-Star Game. Harper was picked as the No. 2 corner outfielder in Major League Baseball by professional baseball analytics.
Bryce Harper was named a candidate in the All-Star Final Vote, with the winner being added to the All-Star Game roster. He finished third behind David Freese and Michael Bourn. In the 2012 season, Bryce Harper was named the National League Rookie of the Year after he received 112 votes, 16 of them first-place votes that allowed him to beat Arizona’s Wade Miley and Cincinnati’s Todd Frazier.
Harper will travel to Japan to participate in the 2014 Major League Baseball Japan All-Star Series after the 2014 season.
Doping
Bryce Harper is a big guy, he's 6'3 at 225-230lbs, so it's natural for everyone to assume he's doping. However, so far that's been a hard cookie to crack, as he hasn't been in the MLB long enough to show off his long-term skills. Since we know the steroid cycles of other baseball stars, we can assume what Bryce Harper could have used during his cycle. A few points to note, he's fairly lean and very fast in the field, so there isn't a lot of steroid bulk on his cycle. Lately, he did get jacked and massive, so that's where the steroid allegations started.
