How does estrogen increase (sodium and) water retention? Is it just the Estradiol (E2) that has this effect?

I've never thought of it as doing that. I know women talk about water retention during their period but that's not really what is happening. And sodium?

The truth is way more fat than water related.

people take diuretics to flush out water but use AI's for estrogen related water retention
