Bane Begins

Hope you guys don't mind, I wanted to use this thread as a diary to track my progress and keep notes of my first ever cycle, which I began this morning. Before all that though, just wanted to thank everyone on the boards for being so welcoming and forthcoming with information. The knowledge you guys have provided and the comfort I felt in asking any questions really was essential for me to have the confidence to take the leap, even after having done my research for the last year or two.

That said, I'll admit the anxiety and nervousness of the needle actually made me consider dropping the whole thing for a split second this morning. But I had to remind myself that one, I worked really hard to get to this point and I felt that I have paid my dues, so it was now or never to progress to the next step. And two, if I can take injections to my gums at the dentist with no problem, I should be able to get through this. So I woke up a little earlier than usual this morning (and yeah, I was wide awake really fast lol ) and got ready. A minute to psych myself up and all of a sudden, I couldn't believe it, the needle was in before I was even ready. I didn't go too slow or too fast, but it just effortlessly went through. I was shocked since I didn't even feel it break the skin. I injected slowly, based on all the advice from here, and pulled out. Zero PIP and maybe the faintest drop of blood. So all in all, the anticipation of actually doing it was the most painful part, and I was able to feel the satisfaction of conquering a fear.

I do have a question though, and that's involving the drawing of the test. When I pushed some into the needle before the injection, there ended up being a little less in the syringe. So I was wondering should there still be 250mg in the syringe even after loading into the needle?

Thanks guys, feel a lot better about it now. I tend to be a little ocd in general normally, so that made it worse when it happened. But I didn't want to be sitting all night loading and reloading syringes to get it right.

So beginning stats...

5'6
160 lbs
14-13% bf

Not even a hint of soreness at all now at the injection site, so I'm still really happy with how that went and hope the next is as smooth. Of course I'm not expecting any strength changes off of one initial dose, but the last two workouts I have felt more endurance than usual, but I figure I can chalk that up to placebo effect and even excitement of having started the cycle.

bro its next to nothing your good

Appreciate the support guys :) I can already tell this is going to be the most fun training period I've ever had. Been "lifting weights" for 19 years total, but I'd say only really serious in terms of diet and training within the last 4.

I'm running robo's Test E at 500mg a wk. Dont have anything to compare it to of course, since this is my first cycle but based on their rep, I'm very thankful to have been able to access their gear.

That's awesome dude congrats and good luck on your first cycle. I know what you mean about the first time you pin, in my mind I was like "holy shit holy shit holy shit I'm about to take steroids". Lol. Felt that way for the first couple weeks. Now it's no biggie.

I've also noticed the last few drops at the end of the needle. Frankly I just load a little bit more into the syringe and call it good.

Good luck. And also your not getting a full 250mgs of Test E. Its by ester weight. Just commenting on your first post. Dont know if there is a sticky about that here but check it out. Good info to know. But enjoy your first run. U should make some good gains aslong as your diet is good.

Hell my first time when I was young and nieve I was like holy shit I cant believe i am about to stick myself with this big ass needle. Don't they make pills for this shit.

Good luck on your first cycle. Good choice with Robo test e

Hm. It's a 20ml vial and I'm using 3ml/cc syringes. I filled it 1cc, so was that actually less than 250?

And yeah it was a weird when I saw the plunger pushed all the way. That past the point of no return feeling, but in a good way.

Ah, gotcha..thanks for the link bro, reading it now. I have to say though the 20ml vial did confuse me a little when it came to drawing it. Wanted to make sure the 1cc was the dose I wanted to draw.

No problem man. Enjoy your cycle!

If you mean you accidentally squirted some out before then don't worry about a drop or two. I usually lick it up lol

lol

Some suggest a small bead on the end of bevel acts as lube and possibly reduces pip.

lol

Today was injection 2, and I used my left quad instead. But I think I went a little too slow, cause I felt the pinch this time (plus being a righty, it was slightly more awkward to do. I also adjusted the dose so I'd have a full 1ML this time. Again, zero pip (gotta love Robo). Deadlifted today, and was able to go up 20lbs more than my previous session. Although again, I understand its probably still too early for strength gains but hell, I'll ride off the excitement if thats whats working. Intensity has also been great, feeling like I'm not stuck staring at a plateau anymore. However, seems like I lost a pound or two since last week. Body fat perhaps?

bro sounds like you're leaning out to me....

If I have one regret its that I didnt find this place sooner :) Info, sources, and support. What an awesome community!

I estimated my intake as follows

6 egg whites, 1 yolk

1 scoop Gold Standard Whey

400 grams lean chicken breast

200 grams of tilapia

2 cans of tuna

1 cup of Broccoli

1 Sweet potato

1 cup of red/green peppers

I'll do a serving of lean red meat a couple of times a week, but a year ago I took a break from eating it regularly, and I didnt feel as full all the time. But I also wasn't cycling and working as intensely, so maybe its time to add it back in? Today was the start of week two. Yesterday's workout was really intense, but I didnt feel as strong with this mornings leg session as I did during the last. But my concentration was also a little off, and I didnt feel like my head was in the game. Injection itself is fine, and I dont seem to feel the needle go in at all when it comes to my right quad.

What are the total macros ?

Red meat as the last meal of the day is recommended since it is slower to digest than the other protein sources. Your body can work on it all night long if it needs to.

Looks good Bane. Get after brotha

Food looks good. Seems a little low on protein but I forget your stats

You guys really help keeping me enthused and motivated. The moral support has been just as essential as anything else. Thank you for that :)

I'm on week 3 now, and here is the update:

nsbbfzdb.webp

(Top before week 1, bottom after week 2)

162 lbs (gained 2), slight increase in strength in some areas (lower body), but more noticeable in others (upper). Chin ups with a 45 lb plate from a dead hang for 8-10 reps, which I never thought possibly. But the one thing I've noticed the most so far is the intensity of the workouts. It keeps rising and I'm loving it. I just feel completely zoned out and determined and its an awesome feeling, one I havent had for a very long time. And when I did with being natural, It wouldn't last long until I burnt myself out. Zero sides btw. No sign of gyno or a trace of acne at all. And still not a trace of PIP with any of the injections.

if that is your diet then its better than 99.5% of americans lol

keep it going.. I would add in another serving of veggies in there.. green veggies

Thanks man, I pretty much got used to eating that way for the past few years, so luckily the dieting part of the cycle isnt really a problem. But I gotta be honest, I do want to add some other greens in there, but I do the broccoli like that out of convenience. They're just so easy fo rme to prepare. Buy the big bags of florettes at Costco, and I'm good to go.

so you dont regularly eat red meat.....????

Not really. Maybe once a week. I used to eat it more regularly, but I would always feel heavy and at one point I decided to play around with my diet a little and I felt better physically not having it so often. But those were also the natural days so I picked up some eye of round this weekend to work it back into the diet. I'm loving all the experimentation when it comes to this.

Diet looks very good my friend!

Thanks bro! Since I've started the cycle, my cravings have also come down so that's also made it easy. Still like my cheat day though, but even that doesnt seem as important right now when I used to drool about it all week.

Food looks good. Seems a little low on protein but I forget your stats

5'6, 162 lbs 13% bf I'd say. I agree with you and will start increasing a little, see what happens.

31yogymrat,
Robo is the truth :) Their rep certainly speaks for itself and I can't see myself bothering with any other test.

Thanks man, it makes me want to fast forward 9 weeks, see where I am then :)

And there is one side that I have noticed now that I think about it. Feel like I can change the oil in my car with my forehead :p

Little late, but mid week 4 update

164 lbs, so a 2 lb gain. Not seeing much of a reduction in body fat though with the current diet, but no bf gained either. I do low intensity/moderate cardio at the end of my sessions, so maybe I'm doing that wrong? More strength gains in upper body, and finally seeing some in my lower. Deadlift numbers are being a little stubborn, but squats are getting better.

It sounds like you are recomping which is a slow process, and you are only in week 4. Its not uncommon for weight to stay exactly the same while recomping, which means success. I think what you have so far is normal. You have to have realistic expectations here man and be patient

id try eating more red meat earlier in the day, with some fast carbs (white, jasmine rice IMHO)

eye of round is a total shit cut of meat man. At the min go for a strip steak or flank steak. the flank will have more fat in the cut, but that is good & bad for you. eaten earlier in the day, maybe an 8oz cut, 3x a wk, should help if you can pair it with grains.

Ms GR827 doesnt digest it too well, so she ll eat it early too & then will have enough time for the body to break it down. Also, do try to take down 14oz of meat. small cuts will be fine, shit, even pair it with some chicken too. mix with green veggie and perhaps some pepper's.

Still EARLY man. Don't get discouraged. Like Rick said its a slow process even with PEDs

My only concern is time. I mean not that I feel impatient, but sometimes I feel like I have less time than I actually do (I'm like this in all other aspects of my life as well). So one minute I'll think "ahhh only 6 weeks left!", but have to remind myself thats still a ways to go.

Thanks for the advice, gr. Picked some up on the grocery run this weekend, gonna see how it goes. I missed the 5 week check in here, but not much changed that week. I noticed a little more definition in my mid section, just that little lower lip of fat on the bottom part of the abs is being stubborn to come off. There was no weight gain either, still stayed around 165.

This morning was the start of week 6, where I feel I experienced some of the bigger personal strength gains for myself. Never in my life could I even get up 110 dumbbells for incline press much less complete a rep. Closest I ever got before I ever cycled was 100, and it was a hard exhausting couple if reps. Did the 110's this morning for multiple reps and sets clean and easy, with no fatigue. When I first joined and talked about my intentions for wanting to do this, a few of you guys would say "have fun". Now I see why. I'm having such a blast doing this and every workout seems to bring a new surprise. On to the next one :)

Thanks Gearhead! I'm definitely in this for the long haul. Even when I feel things have slowed down, like I'm about to get into, I still have never felt more rejuvenated about training.

Week 7 in the books. 1 lb gain, up to 166. No real big strength gains to report. Only some slight noticeable changes in certain lifts. Feeling a little plateaued at the moment, but I'm not too worried about it. Lower stomach fat still being a little stubborn coming off. The one thing to report is I'm feeling a somewhat painful strain in my left bicep. Dont think its too serious but it has gotten in the way for certain movements. I'm flying out of town for the weekend so I'll take the opportunity to give it some rest. Everything else has been great, with still zero negative sides occuring. Not a trace of gyno or anything like that, not even an acne breakout.

I've noticed people say that while on test, they feel like they have a more positive outlook in general. I can't say I've really experienced that. Not that I've felt negative, but things have just been average, same as before I started. I have noticed though my emotions feel more....focused? If that makes sense.

I LOVE logs, I say EVERYONE should log their first few cycles - you get help as you need it, you can ask questions without needing to provide a ton of info (it is all already here), and it helps people in the future with their questions and expectations. Bravo on you!

I know exactly how you feel about the emotions being more focused - it is a perfect description for something that is, really, unable to be truly described.

Have you increased your caloric intake? You very well could be hitting a limit based on the amount of calories your body now needs to increase its bulk. I know I had to increase mine every two weeks, after week 6, in order to keep seeing increases. I raised it by 200 cal a week, mostly carbs (and added a cheat meal twice a week at week 10 of the 12 week cycle. My protein intake was already at 300g a day so no reason to raise that. This helped until week 11 when nothing would raise my muscle mass - though my strength kept increasing throughout the process. I would like to take credit of this bit of knowledge, but I cannot. I use a personal trainer / nutrionist. Not sure if I can post his website here since he is not a sponsor. He is great - but ONLY if you are self motivated. He will not be a drill instructor if you need one, but he will continuously change your meal plans to adjust to the changing you (well, change it weekly if needed).

Well I definitely wouldnt have gotten as far without you guys. Makes me feel like the skys the limit :)

Week 8...
Starting down the home stretch of the 12 week cycle. cybr, thanks for the encouraging words and great advices :) I took you guys up on it and carefully increased cals (still keeping it to one cheat a week tho for now). Sure enough boom, up to 170 lbs (with no bf gained), and a new noticeable gain in strength again. Still dealing with little nagging injuries, but I've been working around them and substituting other movements that dont aggravate the problem areas. But a good week all in all, and I was very happy with the weight gain. 170 was kind of my goal when I started, so now I'm looking to close it out around 175-180 at the end.

Still zero sides to report, not a trace of gyno, acne, bad pip, or anything like that. Although, I do get these weird dreams (nightmares really) where I get really bad gyno. I wake up freaking out but then am so relieved when I realize it was just a dream  Guess I have a paranoid subconscious about it.

Nice to be able to give back! I have gained SO MUCH from people over the years I will NEVER be able to give back as much as I have been given. Thanks for the mention, makes me feel good. :)

And keep up the work!

Weeks 9 and 10

Unfortunately, little problem injuries like what I believe to be tendinitis in both elbows and a bicep issue have cut into my intensity in these last few weeks. I've still maintained the routine and diet, but its been frustrating. Gained another couple of pounds though and am currently at 172, so I'm happy about that. Lower stomach fat remains, but is less than its ever been at least. Was really hoping to be able to go all out in these last couple weeks, but of course don't want to make things worse. To look on the bright side of things, while i've always hated doing legs, dealing with the injuries in my arms have made me look forward to leg day now.

Week 10 pic (sorry for the blurry pic, but my hands have always been shaky)

20150612_001801-1 (1).webp

Thanks man! Mentally at least it isnt discouraging at all, just frustrating. I found the most difficult thing is forcing yourself to lower the weight :/

There is always a bright spot in every bad event. Good on you for seeking it out.

Very nice log........very nice run. You've gained 12lbs of lean mass, lost some fat........very nice run. The numbers for you percentage wise are more dramatic if you consider starting out at 160lbs. Going up to 172lbs is a 7.5% increase in body weight. Not bad at all at week 10 even if that is where you end up. The last two weeks may be just more hardening when you finish this run........but all in all it is still looking very nice.

Thanks so much for taking the time to reply, guys :)

D,
Yeah, I increased the reps with the dropping of weight. I just try to focus more on the little things that I probably don't as much when I go heavy, like the negative. But I have a tendency to get bored with lighter weight/higher rep schemes.

curio,
Thank you so much for this and for the encouragement. I haven't broken it down like that in all these weeks, and its really satisfying to see it put that way. It pretty much has gone as I had hoped and wanted it to. I didn't want an overnight or week one 20 lb gain or anything like that, but a nice, gradual progression.

Gearhead,
Thanks bro! I feel I did a good job of sticking to a clean diet and going intense with every workout, injuries aside. But what I really like is as intense as it was at certain points, I know and feel I can go even harder in the next cycle, which I'm very much looking forward to.

Week 12 has come to a close. Before I get into a little 'thoughts and conclusions' epilogue, I first want to thank you guys for your advice, knowledge, and support. Because of you I was able to go through this stress free, and really enjoy the experience in an educated way without worrying about all the myths and misconceptions. I can tell you that I definitely wouldn't have felt confident enough to try without you guys, and in its way it has been a positively life changing experience.

That said, I'm overall very satisfied with my first cycle. The only sides I ever experienced were a more oily skin (that thankfully didn't cause breakouts, just felt kinda gross), and I'm not sure if this was related or not, but I got night sweats like crazy. Waking up to sweat literally dripping off my entire body. So all things considered, just minor little annoyances. The strength gains were a lot of fun, and I was able to utilize the cycle to really strengthen my weakest part: legs. I mean it used to be so bad that I'd almost have anxiety on the way to the gym on squat day. But instead now its become one of my favorites and I no longer have that fear of a heavy squat that I used to. The annoying injuries were a damper on things at times, and I was really hoping for more fat loss on my lower abs and hips. I think while I was really good about my daily diet, I probably could have been more disciplined on Cheat day. But I just chalk it up to a learning experience for the next cycle. I almost got to 174 lbs at 5'6 (my target goal was 175), but ended at 172 this week for whatever reason. My goal would be to see if I can round 190 by the end of the year, but I'd be thrilled with 180-185 as well. Still, very happy with the weight gain and by week 8-9, had more than a few people I know start calling me 'big guy' or something along those lines, which felt really good to hear.

In conclusion, it was a rewarding experience and I can't wait for the next cycle. I feel like the personal records I was able to accomplish this time was only the beginning, and with future cycles and stacks and your continued support, there are plenty more personal achievements to come. My only regret? Being in a long distance relationship especially mid-cycle. Hooooooooly shiiiiiit did that get rough at times. It was like being 15 years old all over again :p I'll be seeing her next week to make up for lost time, during which I'll be taking a few days off from the Gym. Then I was wondering what you guys thought about going on a deload for the month until my next cycle, to give those elbows and shoulder a rest?

Thanks man! By time off you mean time off entirely from the gym? How much would you recommend?
