Training every day

Do you think that an approach of shorter workouts but everyday might work, or you would still need to take one day rest between training days? I am thinking of new alternative ways of training, and though – why not do shorter training sessions everyday, instead of the longer one's every other day?

This might work, but you would have to isolate the trained muscle groups very well, because they usually need several days to get recovered. So you would have to do one particular muscle group per day, not two as usual. Who knows – this is quite individual, so it may workout very well for you.

Shorter workouts more frequently are MUCH more beneficial to longer workouts less frequently.

You stimulate muscle protein synthesis much more frequently and the shorter workouts are easier on the body to recover from.

The only negative, and the main reason they aren't more common, is because of the major time commitment to make it to the gym every single day.

If that isn't an issue for you - your idea makes total scientific sense

in theory yes, but people don't do that because shit happens and they can't always hit the gym everyday .. we have busy lives in today's society

You do cos you said you do in another thread. I only work 2 days a week currently and I still don't train every day.

You have to separate your mindset from training is only in the gym. Every day you are training, but some are recovery, some are hard, some are moderate, etc. The human body is meant to be used daily, but how you use it dictates how often you elevate the stress seen by the ENTIRE organism.

I actually really like shorter workouts. I only train about 45 minutes and sometimes add in cardio right after. Just get in, train hard, get out. No time for any talking or bullshit.

I think it depends. ...spending 3 hours in the gym isn't practical or good imo. But training everyday like stated above isn't always easy. My gym schedule changes all the time. ...it all depends on whats happening in my life

To be able to train daily something has to give. If you was to actually go in and, to quote the late Rich Piana, 'kill it' there's no way you'd be doing yourself any favours even with anabolics going 7 days a week. We've all done it in much the same way as we've all worked in our day jobs 7 days a week. But after a while something gives. For the most part a 7 day schedule, done properly, over taxes the CNS, your immune response and your recovery.

Now if you train light and only take it easy that's a whole 'nother matter.
