Thanks mate. Still trialling a bit more volume (in terms of more sets closer to the top weight). Coming from the low volume Dorian Yates style it feels tough but might be worth it for growth. Don't think I'll ever go back to straight sets though. One thing I am interested in trying is working up to say a 6-8 rep set then doing one back off of 10-12 say. Is that similar to what you do?

Weight has dropped a bit in the last week ago and maybe feeling a bit flat so figured it was a good time for a treat meal. Was good to not have to hold back on the sauce etc. And being Halloween I figured a few chocs is ok.

Thanks mate. I make sure I do the stretching stuff everyday. Makes a big difference for me.

@waggat there's nothing better than a nice burger. Did you grill them or are they cooked in the pan?
He's Aussie bro, had to throw it on the barbie right @waggat lol

Waggat taught me how dumb that line is cuz they call shrimp prawns down there. Paul Hogan lied to all of us!!!

Yeah 🤣.

But a lot of people do have small BBQ's that they use for cooking most of their meals. I haven't got a BBQ at all at the moment.... Not very Aussie of me. Just cooking everything in the pan or oven currently.

If you're going to eat chocolate, I suggest plain chocolate. @waggat You don't want to take any that has any type of sugar added to it.

@waggat You won't go wrong with a homemade burger like that. Just be careful adding the bread to it. There's some much better bread options out there and just make sure you check the ingredients. Stay away from the refined flours and the preservatives.

I'm game. I used to hammer calves when I firstly started training. Is the weight based on the final set requiring rest/pause to grind the 20 reps?

It may be bro
I dunno if used to do more sets but only to 10 reps
I guess its like cutting out the easier sets and just aniolation of 3 work sets

BRO!!!!
Ur killing me with these feeds 🤤
Daomn u can cook 👏
Thanks mate.
I used to tell my mate that my oven was stuffed and that's why I couldn't get the crackling to work. He said that it's essential to dry the skin then leave it in the fridge at least overnight. That seems to have been the trick to get it to work.

That's a great tip. I'm gonna pass that one on to my wife. Hers never comes out lookn that good. Looks right outta a Chinese restaurant

From the recipe I follow, the main points are:
  • Pork type - they say shoulder or belly are good, loin is the worst
  • Dry skin with paper towel
  • Leave in fridge uncovered for at least 12 hours
  • A little oil and a good amount of salt
  • Use aluminium chocked underneath to make the top as flat as possible
  • (For pork shoulder) Slow cook for a few hours to start (170 deg Celcius) then 30 min on full (250 deg Celcius) at the end

Yea thats a problem for me too. I can't even kill a fish haha.

You could look at it that alligators are overpopulating Florida and you're helping control the population.

The truth is very few people even use their ovens. @waggat I heard a long time ago the only reason people have ovens in their house is for Thanksgiving to cook turkeys in America. But the truth is that they're so big that they're just a waste of electricity for most people.

I think that's why air fryers are so popular now.

@waggat Good job posting up the recipe. Seems pretty easy to do. I'm just not big on pork, but this might work well on a big piece of turkey.

nice recipe layout. i know a lot of people who are lurkers on here who just read the logs to pick up secret recipes like this. so this is a huge help @waggat

humans have always done a good job of killing each other throughout history so no need. and with fertility rates plunging there is hope for a future. plus we are past due for a really bad virus to wipe out a % of the population

We don't eat a lot of turkey over here. Don't you have to be careful when cooking so it doesn't dry out?
no clue on that lol. i don't cook those. my ex wife used to cook a good one on thanksgiving before she died

Well your spot on here brother, humans been destroying shit and themselves for years and are to ignorant to see the bigger picture. However there are good people still with good intentions and that give a little hope to most still. Hard thing is most people follow the majority and not what they feel is right. Convenience is much easier then competition and conflict so unfortunately majority has the bigger influence of where we are headed..

Very very careful. 5 minutes too long in the oven and it can be ruined. You really gotta watch the temp carefully cuz dry turkey is terrible.

It helps if you get a fresh bird too. The frozen ones tend to dry out easier.

yep i think 90% of people out there are genuinely good people. its the tiny % that screw it up for the rest of us. and more people are sheep. like the people who think its okay to pollute or destroy natural habitats to build golf courses SMH

Pasta is the classic carb up king bro. No getting around that. I'm so sick of pasta from my day is playing competitive sports cuz it was all we would eat. This looks like pasta I would definitely eat though! Looks delicious

See how the 6 day split rolls for a few weeks and re adjust if needed.

Workout yesterday.

Was a good one but I was a bit annoyed that the second time I wanted to incorporate the hack squats it was taken. Did the hammer strength V squat instead. Definitely not as good as the normal hack squat.

For calves I tried to implement what I think @SPOONMAN366 has been doing with 20 rep sets. Went pretty well, couldn't quite get 20 on the last set. I used weights that meant I did the following: first set full 20 in one go, second set a bit of rest/pause for the last 5 and final set a bit of rest pause for the final 10.

25 min incline treadmill

10 min yoga style stretching

Is there a a pendulum squat at your gym? You might find that you like that better than both
