There is nothing better than a strong leg day and then following it up with a strong back day. I like how you start out with deadlifts. A lot of people don't realize how good of an exercise it is if you do them right. @TAGII

strong deads today 496 you killing it @TAGII :D able to do pull ups?
Yeah I warmed up with 20 pull-ups. I didn’t log it because I was on the other side of the gym helping my wife with her pull-ups . If I don’t log it when I do it, it doesn’t make it in the phone lol

bros you looking good on this. I counted 18 solid sets including warm up. I think overall a good training session like this going to push you to greater heights, especially on chest day. @TAGII

A true power squat doesn’t include a hop, that’s more of a jump squat. power squats focus on heavy load, wide stance, hips back, and controlled drive up. though I've seen it done different person to person at the gym, you can watch guys attempt to power squat like a sumo :P @BeMe
Yep. I'm doing 600+ kg in my profile pic (625kg/1375lbs x 4 I think)

It’s a little odd to get into. My arms don’t bend back so I have to get someone to pick up on one side so I can get into it. It’s nice because it takes elbow flection out of the mix completely and it’s just pecs. But when I put any heavier weight on it, I have to have help getting into it lol. Last night I worked out alone so I looked special rocking back and forth trying to get my arm under it 😂
@ballin2504
Looks like a Mk1 or Mk2 version of a Nautilus Fly

Bowling ball shoulders in that pic and those arms look huge, full and dense. @TAGII like a PRO! :D

Shoulder press machine you did too much weight, anything overhead you need to keep weight lower and reps higher, can injure badly.

No. I can press 300+. 250lbs on a bar for reps and some strongmen are doing 500lbs.

It's far more of an issue with many bodybuilders to do too work in and around the shoulder joint. Have you EVER seen anyone here with recovery logs (for shoulder issues) be those who pressed heavy? It's ALWAYS too much volume. People forget pressing, benching, rows, many tricep exercises and more ALL are working the shoulder joint too. And that's without shoulder specific laterals and the like.

Even my 'frozen shoulder' issue which took about 2 years to recover from was as much bench press as anything.

Also - not enough, me included (ironic cos I did an article on it) do rotator cuff work

Agree with this although it suits many. I prefer a more natural strength curve.

I just finished listening and you're seriously impressive man. I think what you've done is on a whole other level of achievement given what you've had to overcome. It was an awesome interview, thanks a lot bro 🙏

they had to do episodes out of order seems

Hey @TAGII I listened to most of your podcast episode while taking the dogs for a walk. It's was really great! I always thought you were Australian for some reason. Maybe it's just cuz you're physique looks like all the Australians, jacked and lean? Really incredible what you've been able to accomplish especially considering all the conditions you have to deal with.

Im already dealing with some arthritis myself due to injuries, a really bad one in my wrist. Do you have any supplement or diet recommendations that helped with your arthritis?

For joint pain and arthritis, two key areas matter most, reducing inflammation and improving joint support. Think collagen, bone broth, think omega 3 fish oils, think boswellia, curcumin, and the regulars glucosamine, chondroitin and msm. @BeMe

@BeMe @HarleyGuy @vanlife_gymbum @toddthelineman @Allupfromhere @Pigsy @s.gentz

@BeMe man I take 4500mg of turmeric mix with tart cherry every day (2250 am &pm) 2500 mg of fish oil plus a scoop of collagen everyday and I keep low dose deca in all year.
I have been running 100mg of deca for a couple years now and it keeps me moving. Every time I stop I start having pain and can’t move. Currently I pin 15mg everyday. Nothing seems to keep me moving like deca.

@BeMe my arthritis is a little different than arthritis caused by an injury so deca may not offer the same benefit to you as it does for me. Everyone is different and it’s a learning curve to find what works for your body.

So here’s the deal with the legs guys.
Yes they are small
Yes they are not the same size
I broke my femur when I was 4 years old and was in traction for 6 weeks. My legs never matched my whole life lol!
I’m trying to move heavy weight with them and also doing some volume to fill them out.
I also don’t know how to flex them 🤪

I used to run turmeric but I stopped, I'll get that back in. Fish oil, Chondroitin, msm, glucosamine, collagen, all part of the current stack.

We eat homemade bone broth soups once it twice a week.

I finally should have some deca in hand in th next couple days so we'll see how that goes. I'll start at 50mg/week and go up to 100mg if needed.

Curcumin and boswellia I'll look into @LevButlerov

What's the tart cherry @TAGII

Is that just for flavour or is there some benefit to it?

Start with 50mgs deca split into 2 doses :D @BeMe dont go high on deca.
the cherry part you can just eat the dried cherries :P

@BeMe tart cherry helps to reduce inflammation. Curcumin is the active ingredient in turmeric that reduces inflammation. Together they work well.

Thanks for the tips bro. I'll give them a go.

Cool gym you got there. Looks like a real deal powerlifting spot. Really nice.

What state are you from. I was trying to pin your accent down but it was tough. Sounds southern but not too far south.

I was gonna guess Kentucky, North Carolina, or Virginia.

Thanks man! @Eddie Haskell
We all go through struggles and hard times. We either let them beat us or we choose to press through. I was blessed as a child to NOT know that giving up was an option. People overcome impossible adversity everyday. We are stronger than we think, mentally as well as physically.

Great 👍 podcast.

@TAGII Your podcast is cued up on my phone for my next drive for my under the table "don't worry Government I'm not working because I'm defined as "crazy" " job first thing tomorrow morning. I know you've been through a lot of health issues since you were single digit age and I think with what happened to your leg your legs are strong AF and look like they're on their way to getting freaky just keep going!

Something caught my eye... your aggressive last cycle

Last cycle:
Titrated up to
600 Test
600 EQ
400 Deca
(Best cycle I have run for joint relief and strength)

You must have gained like a beast on this? My next cycle in the new year will include EQ 100%

Yes EQ is definitely one of my favorite. I keep deca as a maintenance on everything but I ramp the EQ and test up and I seem to respond well to it.

I’ve lived most of my life in Virginia and western North Carolina.
People tell me I don’t really sound like the small town I am from lol @BeMe
Yea you're accent is really light but it's definitely there lol.

North Carolina looks beautiful. If I was gonna move to the States that would definitely be one of my top choices. I like Tennessee too but people I've me up here from there say they don't take to kindly to my kind down there lol.

Yeah Tennessee is nice but some areas are a bit funny with people coming in that are not from there. When I was in western North Carolina I had people that I worked with that would not talk to me because I was “an outsider” lol 😂

I love mountain biking and motorcycling and NC has some of the best of both in the world. Good climate too. Really seems like an amazing place to be. I'm definitely gonna come down and check it out some day. Maybe get a place in the blue ridge mountains.

Damn bro you're 190lbs and pressing 120s for reps. That's pretty crazy

@BeMe trying to keep up with the big boys 🤪
Crazy that even someone like you pushing numbers like you do struggles with thinking you're not big or strong. I see you as myself in a couple years and I wonder if I'll still feel the same way.

I guess we're never really satisfied.

Have you ever thought of entering a powerlifting competition? I think that would be great for your confidence. The amount of weight you're moving at 190lbs is pretty elite bro. If you entered an amateur local competition I bet you win it by a lot. It would be good for you to see what actual powerlifters your size are capable of so you can see how far ahead of the curve you really are.

Good chest day, 120lb presses and 300lb incline work are heavy with solid control. :D I'm sure you had a big pump @TAGII

Smart call skipping the 130s with that sore elbow, let it rest a bit then push again next week.

I have thought about it. Every time I try to attempt a powerlifting block I run into an issue. With grip or joint pain. Trying to take it a little slower and see what I can do. @BeMe

Bro don't change a thing. Just train the conventional big 3 a bit more, practice pauses on bench and you're good. Keep your training pretty much the same and just show up. I promise, you will shock yourself and everyone else there in your class.

Bro you move some weight even with everything you have gone through and still going through.
I listened to your podcast while was doing my morning cardio. One helluva run you have had from a young age! Crazy to hear people like yourself just dominate lifes hurdles and still kill it and then there is perfect capable people making every excuse under the sun as to why the cant do something.. the mind is our most powerful weapon ey.
Honestly brother the podcast finish and i didnt even feel like i had just done an hour cardio because it had me so engaged lol.
Awesome stuff brother 🔥

@Allupfromhere lol my wife says I have zero empathy for people that tell me they can’t do stuff because I know that anyone can do whatever they “want” to. Especially when it comes to work. I feel like people call out for the sniffles all the time but I only missed work twice when I had ulcerative colitis and I was always sick lol.
No excuses.

Thats the difference though brother, people like that will only ever stay in the same spot throughout life because they dont have it in them to put in any real effort.

yeah good points on that. after my wife threw herself off the balcony i was on a plane the next day back home. then back at work the next morning. of course the life insurance check i got helped me 'get over it' too @TAGII

I think @Pigsy uses a software can you share please? @TAGII

@Pigsy if you could tell me how to post a video that would be awesome
That software has a bit of a glitch sometimes where you're face can appear. I saw @Pigsy lol. I know who Batman is.

If you give it a go just watch the first split second of the video. I only caught it cuz Pigsys video played then when it reloaded at the beginning it was just him sitting there with no blur

@Pigsy if you could tell me how to post a video that would be awesome
I use an app called youcut, to compress the video under 5mb. The you can upload in the attach files.

The only reason why my face showed, was my own mistake not the software. I didn't check the video after compressing. Otherwise I would have fixed that issue
