got a question about my acne, I'm 19 now and started to regularly use whey protein daily like last week i started getting bad acne is this related to my protein dose of whey?

You might be sensitive to the milk sugar naturally found in milk, lactose. Allergies can often cause acne in people. A lot of adult humans are very sensitive to lactose and experience similar problems.

You can still use a whey protein supplement, you just need to make sure you are using a pure whey isolate. A whey isolate is free of lactose and fat, where as a whey concentrate will have a couple grams of lactose and fat per serving. Whey isolate is a much more expensive form of whey so most protein companies will use a whey concentrate. Do your research and read the ingredient label carefully.

There are a lot of good proteins on the market but I personally use isolation from n2bm.com. It is a pure whey isolate what is naturally flavoured and sweetened with stevia. You can't beat the price for a big 5 pound bag either.

Well....it may also be related to you age....me myself at this age had quite some acne.....but it would be a good idea to try switching the brand, and see what happens. Perhaps there is too much lactose in your protein.

If you are indeed experiencing these symptoms as a result of the whey protein, it is a clear sign that you are allergic. I have never suffered similar symptoms and am around the same age.

As has been mentioned, there are alternatives: whey protein isolate and beef protein isolate are probably the two cheapest options... they will still cost more that whey protein concentrate but that's life.

I would try to hit your macro needs without any protein powder and see how you react. Remember that powders are only used to help if you cannot hit your macros with whole foods.

I do not think the isolate will make a difference, it is still dairy.. so if you have a dairy allergy it won't help you to use isolate which doesn't have lactose (the sugar)

just avoid dairy and eat whole foods instead

I wish protein shakes were a secret. People just think drinking a shake is the best thing.

How many shakes are you drinking my friend? Try to get your macros in from eating whole foods...chicken, Turkey, nuts, fish etc.
