ALCOHOL and GEAR?

Hey guys

I have a random question that I wanted to post and get peoples thoughts on.

Do any of you guys drink while on cycle? I am not going to lie. I love to go out and chase the chicas. The problem with doing that is it usually involves me drinking a few beers, mixed drinks or whatnot Weather I am trying to pick a girl up at the club or seduce her from the coach to the bedroom, it usually involves alcohol.

I am far from an alcoholic but to give it up while I am on cycle is going to be a challenge. Do any of you guys drink while on cycle? If so, how much? I mean it goes without saying that orals are hard enough on your liver as it is. Drinking on top of that cant be good. However, is a night on the town here and there really all that bad?
 
To put it simply, it's counter productive to bodybuilding and absolutely horrible for you on cycle. A glass of wine once in a while wouldn't hurt much but that's about it. Bodybuilding is one lifestyle commitment, but steroids are a lifestyle commitment on a whole other level and there's really no room for error. If you can't stop drinking for a short cycle duration, you really should rethink steroids.

I know its far from smart while on cycle. But, when you you say counter productive to bodybuilding do you mean that it actually hinders in "building muscle" or that because of the "garbage" calories it will cause one to gain fat?
 
I have a glass or two red wine. When me and the wife go out for dinner 1-2 times a month. But if I use an oral I most def don't drink at all.

Alcohol lowers T, raises E, and stops all protein synthesis. It also strips the nutrients and water from your muscle. That's just a few hindrances towards bodybuilding. So yes, it will keep you from building muscle.

1 glass of red wine here and there is fine......3 fingers of crown royal on ice isnt......


very very low volume is ok and wont fuk things up...............but any large amount is really bad. a lot worse than you'd think

I wonder at what percent is it bad . Is there a significant reduction of testosterone and rise in estrogen ? Can anyone site a study ? i googled it and found no scientific studies. I know many very good athletes who "seem" to be high testosterone and they drink socially. I also searched for TRT and alcohol found no studies.

will it kill you to have a drink every now and then? no. is it counter productive to your goals? YES. alcohol is catabolic, that is common sense.

This. And alcohol is especially a no-no with oral gear. Just don't.
 
its hard enough to grow muscle as it is, why you would blow it on a fucking drink boggles the mind. they have grape juice spritzer things you can get from the health food store and it tastes the same as champagne, can't even tell the difference.
 
See to me, it's so counterproductive. And more, it's dangerous to your body. That's what makes people think gear is so dangerous. It's not the gear, it's the user makinh horrible decisions.

Trust me, with a good amount of test flowing thru you, you won't need alcohol to want to pounce on a chica.
 
Drinking on cycle is def no no. Even more so on orals. Being as I live on the coast tho, Sunday fun day at the islands there is definitely going to be some beers put down. It's a personal decision really. It definitely won't help you though, except maybe w the ladies. And isn't hat why you work so hard anyways , to impress chicks?

After about 15 years of hard learning... I have come to the conclusion that alcohol is bad no matter what but especially while trying to enhance your physic. The calories alone should make you guys steer clear... I couldn't imagine myself on cycle and drunk! No no no, I know better. Hell if you fell like a drink just smoke a lefty instead! Then go raid the fridge... You still would be doing less damage ...lol instead of funions and chips just drink a protein shake and eat some Greek yogurt!

Welcome to the most controversial topics on bodybuilding/dieting ALONE. Depends on who you ask, would be your answer. I only drink once a week, personally. Never on orals, unless your trying to float your liver.
 
I've juiced on that lifestyle. It's a waste of time n money. U lose all ur gains once you off the gear n back in the clubs

a few years back I almost passed out at the club when doing shots with my bros. i had to sit down and drink water because i felt like shit. bouncers kept walking over and asking if i was ok. an hour later i was fine. now when i go out, while on gear, 1 drink only and no shots.

I go to a lot of house party almost every week so they know me lol what I do I eat like a horse at the party and only drink 2 maybe 3 light beers but that only when I'm in cycle
 
I recall back on my earlier days taking pro hormones. I would do a night full of drinking- throw up feel like crap for the next few days... And wonder why my liver hurt. God I was an idiot back then. Sometimes I wish I could hop in a time machine and fine the early 20s of me and knock him the fck out!

Alcohol makes me turn into fucking maniac so i'm proud to say i havent drank in over 9 years. Now when im around people drinking i get annoyed at how fucking stupid they act.
 
Had to do a bachelor party bought week ago. Went to the strip club...beer $2, Shots $3, Water $4.....I was like, "come on man, give a brother a break". SoI bought a bottle of water and spent most of the night going to and from the men's room refilling in the sink. Woke the next day, hit the gym and got some from my girl. Called all my bro's at 1ish all their girls answered cause they were all either puking, sleeping or too hungover to talk...man I just miss booze sooooo much.
 
I'm going to write this in a nutshell if at all possible. Martial arts and booze. Cops , martial arts, and booze. Booze and Japanese cops. Booze and bodybuilding, saved a kid from getting raped. Red necks and booze. MPs and booze. '70s Roadrunner destroyed by booze and many other cars. Hospitalized ten thousand times by booze. Scull and body fractured by booze. Heart attacks and strokes by booze. No love life which was paid by being boozed up.

Things changed almost overnight after I had taken my first injection. I'll never go back to the old Ano ever again since I found out about steroids 8 years ago. I truly believe the usage if it weren't not for me going online to place a particular order I wouldn't be posting this right now. AAS has truly saved my life. I now have fragments of a life that I'm trying hard to piece back together with the help of someone that I think may love me, but then again, it could boil down to the money. I'm going to stay on AAS until I drop dead. Hopefully that won't occur until I have reached 125-130 years old. LOL
 
My foreman is beefed up and drinks vodka and beer Every fukin day and he build muscle. And he cokes out every once in awhile. I know this cuz he pays me to do his beer run every once in a while at work. He doesn't take orals tho just pins. But hey do whatever you want. Body is a magnificent machine. It does stuff it isn't supposed to do sometimes. And everyone is different

Haha that's awesome. I just want to go back when I was 20 cuz all the tail I was able to get. But not anymore... hey if you find that machine have fun knocking out mini you while I go get some lol
 
It's not really all that tough to not drink during a 12 weeker, especially when that cycle is getting you prepped for the summer, which will give you the body all the sexy ladies desire, which will obviously include alcohol at some point, which will get you laid (hopefully).

So in summation, Say "no" on cycle---> Get sexy ladies. BOOM
 
Not to disagree alcohol is bad Mmmmkay, but then there will be posted pubmed studies showing it wise to have a serving of alcohol to prevent strokes, etc. Strongest guys I know can drink me under the table. Just sayin'.

I think it's more the issue of drinking while running anabolics

yeah bro we have come a long way since we would give people alcohol before surgery or child birth ... also keep in mind the alcohol back then was real, today its all Smirnoff and cheap crap they re-sell for 5X the cost full of sugar.

as I said earlier in the thread what ever happened to just drinking WATER. you don't see guys in the gym carrying around alcohol while they lift.. the real lifters carry around WATER. and then you see a few skinny noobs carrying around some protein shakes or whatever.. as if drinking a shake during their workout is a substitute to eating real food. and they wonder why they are still skinny. I haven't drank a shake in over a year

That's wine and that's resveratrol. You get it from grape juice too. So no need for drinks. Alcohol shuts down your ADH bro.

Correct, thus u piss everything out/it's a diuretic. I lol at people when they say, "I drank a water for every beer I had so I'd stay hydrated"...useless.

I don't either, I get the majority of my vitamins from food and all my protein from food as well. Maybe 1 shake every couple months when I'm low on money. You don't need a shake as soon as your done working out. Just get your macros throughout the day

Just to clarify: Yes you may not need a shake directly after exercise but carbs and aminos are another story. In the first 45 minutes of the 2 hour post workout anabolic window, your muscles are extremely insulin sensitive and the enzymes are in a state of "upregulation" meaning they're extremely happy to take your macros and use them for muscle repair. Additionally, your cortisol levels are through the roof using your muscle aminos as energy through gluconeogenesis. Nope. "As soon as you drop the last plate, take in your macros" -my former exercise physiology professor (and probably the smartest doctor I've ever met)

I know that once I started taking in a 2:1 saccharide to protein mix immediately post exercise, my gains went through the roof both aesthetically and performance-wise.

I personally like whet as a postworkout.... Sometimes but more for convenience. I don't buy into what these pencil neck GNC reps push.

No alcohol for me seems to make my workouts slack , even the next day i feel somewhat groggy. But never drink on orals for sure liver wont like you
 
Got two words for ya, "mardi gras". It was fun but I'm feeling rough today. I knew it wound be my last chance to drink til summertime and we lived it up. My liver hates me. But now I can focus 100% on lifting and eating clean. Big gains coming in 2014. Year of the beast!

Over the last 6 years, I've drank minimally; mainly because of how it makes me feel and how i affects my body progress. I drank a lot in this past december because of graduation and a lot of social events. In the last 1.5 months ai've been back on schedule and now I am finally at a point where I feel like I am ripping skin open during my workouts again. I can understand intermittent drinking when rolling natty. However, there is absolutely no excuse for drinking and juicing. I ripped my old roommate for taking multiple compounds, eating like garbage and drinking. I can't take anybody seriously who drinks and juices.

What about non alcoholic beer?

beer is still processed so it still isn't something i would put in my body regardless. the beer belly thing isn't a myth, it is true.

try water instead, the thing that every animal on earth drinks. even dinosaurs drank water
