Alright wk one is in the books. I have shoot 250mg (cyp) in each glute and it was a bitch. ok I load the syrenge and change needles turn it up and push air out no air bubbles (dolfe) ready to go right. well i shove the thing in my ass and try to pull back on the plunger to make sure i am not in a vain but the fucking thing won't draw I end up just slidding the needle in and out. Here is what I do, I take my thumb and pointer finger and grab the plunger while my hand holds the whole thing it wont draw back the suction is to strong. I am useing a 25g needle. but i have 23 would that help? I went to ******************* and that wasn't much help. what do you guys think.
thanks

i've been injecting for 10 some years. spent the first half a year aspirating and the last 9 1/2 years never aspirating

i'm still alive

this topic gets people triggered for whatever reason but my position is aspirating is not needed and completely pointless.. in fact i would argue it was counter productive. just inject into the muscle with the correct needle size and slowly pin yourself.. just don't pin near an obvious vein and learn what spots work best for you

It will draw back and make a vacuum just fine. It has nothing to do with needle size either when aspirating. You aremt even pulling anything through the needle unless theres blood. You are just creating a vacuum. You just need to improve your technique. You need to stabilize the syringe and pull back on the plunger. You need to be able to pull back while keeping the syringe stabilized in place.

So I’m a newbie here who hasn’t even done his first cycle, but I am a registered nurse who has plenty of IM injection experience, and I can tell you that the medical community no longer teaches to aspirate for IM injections. If you are in the right place in the glutes, vastus lateralus, deltoid, etc. and the length of the needle is the correct size for the injection site, then the chance of hitting a major vessel or nerve is almost nil. The slight damage done to the muscle by aspirating is not worth it. Just search YouTube for vids on injection demonstrations for your desired site and you’ll find loads of good ones showing you exactly where on the muscle to pin, what length of needle, and even how to make the pin less painful. This is not just my two cents, but what they now teach in medical and nursing schools

yet I argue with forum parroters on this stuff day in and day out who insist you have to aspirate, yet give no scientific explanation as to why SMH

Aspirating is no longer recommended or required in medical circles for IM injections. Skip it...you will be just fine. I've never done it ever.
