Blood pulled into syringe

I injected into my glute and blood filled into my syringe, ive never had this happen before what should I do ?

Most likely hit a blood vessel...it happens....and it can happen anywhere for that matter.

how long was the needle bro?

mostly likely hit a blood vessel. peronsally use the "Z-Track method" when injecting my glutes for that reason and I've never had the issue.

hopefully someone can shed some more light

When that happens to me what i do is to pull to aspirate inside the needle and if i see that more blood is coming in, then that means that the head of the needle is inside of a vessel and you can not inject. Then i take the syrenge out of the glutes and pin it again. If this time i pull to aspirate and no blood comes in, then i know i am safe to inject and then i inject. Is not a problem if you inject the oil and the blood that are inside the needle

It's not uncommon at all. You've got a vessel.

Remove the needle, find another spot and pin it again, but please don't forget to change the needle, ok.

Z-track is good method, especially to avoid drug reflux... so there's no risk of leaking into adipose tissue.

no biggy.. to avoid this from freaking you out, push a little oil out the tip, fill that air volume this way blood won't go into that filled space that now has oil volume, plus the oil trickling down the needle tip can assist with a lube like effect going in too ;) or burn the subq with the solvents, but no biggy ;)

You nicked a blood vessel. It's not serious at all. Just avoid that injection site for a couple of weeks.

You will most likely experience some post injection pain for a couple days. Totally normal

I get your worry. That’s scary when you don’t know what it is. Don’t worry tho. I’m assuming you pulled out and re stuck urself??

I inject into the glutes also but it’s hard to see back there isn’t it??!!!!

I had replied to this earlier and it was pretty thorough but for some reason it must not have saved. I was at the airport and I guess coverage sucked. Sorry. Anyway, what I will say in a much shorter paragraph now is no need to pull out, same if you hit a nerve. Just pull up slowly, move the needle in a different direction and push back in. That's a little trick that my Physician's Assistant best friend taught me. No point in wasting a needle and no point in pinning again. He said in the medical field there is a big argument on whether or not to aspirate but also to save money, there is no need to pull out (although pulling out in real life in a different scenario also sucks). I personally do not aspirate ( I used to). I aspirate every so often if something doesn't feel right but usually, I just jam and go. Depends on where I'm pinning really. If it's in the thigh, I'm a little more cautious. In my ass, I just stab it and let loose. This is a hot topic in the medical field with many different schools of thought. So I would imagine it may be here too. That's just my opinion. Take B12 for instance. Some say it works better IM and some docs say SubQ is fine. It all depends on who ya talk to on what to do. So my suggestion, do what you are comfortable with.
