Hey guys,

Could you share with me how you get your blood tests done and how you get copies?

I've done heaps of blood tests through the methadone program and thr doctor talks about them with me sometimes but I never see the data. I don't really want to ask if there's another way. I was never a doctor shopper and avoided them like the plague to hide my drug abuse so basically have no idea how anything works

Someone reckoned you could get access to some sort of ministry of health patient portal to see some of your medical records or data - does anyone know about this ?

Alternatively, how do you get private testing done outside of the health system?

MyTests gives you direct access to a wide range of tests and results are emailed back. PocketLab lets you order bundles, GP signs off digitally, and you get doctor feedback with results. Pathlab MyWay is another option where you pay and book directly, results go straight to you. If you want someone to come to you, Drips NZ sends a nurse for at-home testing but it’s more expensive, and you live out so not sure it's an option.

I absolutely will man. - I need to figure out how to power my laptop or get a screen for my little raspberry pi so I can use a mouse and keyboard... I can type @ 90wpm and average 2wpm on the $&@*$ phone.

I've only got my phone at the moment where doing office stuff like consolidation of data from spreadsheets and documents and copy and pasting between those and a web interface or writing down data from tracker apps is a painful and miserable task on a mobile phone.

I hate them and will have more solution-oriented things to say about (replacing and moving away from) them in the future.

I ate the other half of last night's beef cold by slicing it up into thin slices, they just slide down.

Hey bro, I'm new also! been listening to their podcast for a year but procrastinating about starting, didn't know where to get test, etc. but all issues are rapidly falling away and progress is going full steam ahead. I have absolutely tanked my testosterone levels with Methadone Maintenance Therapy and I am going to try Testosterone Injection Therapy to fix it.

How's your self administered TRT going? do you have any current issues with needles or gear or AI access? I can help with those things as I've just figured them out myself.

Could you run me through exactly where you go and how you do it? I don't have a GP and I never have had one - I'm not about to start now and mess up my initiation into the underground health, fitness and hormone management scene.

I can't believe how well this uGL system works in Australia and New Zealand and how thriving it is... doctors and the government don't want us to access this! have you seen how they gatekeep TRT here? I guess you know better than me how much it sucks, but we don't need them bro, look at all this... it was there all along, just bubbling below the surface

Ah where do I start haha! I thought for years I had low test as I had been a pretty soild gym goer for years 10+ years got all the newbie gains then declined doctors wouldn't prescribe me trt even though I was low 9.1 base line for prescription is 9. I managed to find a telehealth clinic here in nz which costs the test itself is free but they won't prescribe it to you without one of there blood tests which costs like $160 and they won't prescribe more then 1xvial (10ml) of 100mg/ml so I did 30 weeks of that and ending up around 150mg a week which is a nice cruise level for me, I got a bit pissy that they wouldn't double up my prescription so I have no got myself my own source of 250ml/MG (20ml) for a cheaper price and plan to manage it myself once I get it sorted and levels down I'll probably go for a blast haha for some more gains, tbh just being on the extra trt for the past 30 weeks my gains have been huge just need to lose some weight I'm eating like a teenage boy

cant speak for NZ. so i will answer it for the USA guys who see this thread. but in the USA you can either go through a doc or order it online then take it to the lab

i would talk to a doctor and find out if they can give you a tip on that. the main thing you get bloods done somehow

Since this thread is pinned we may as well use it for collecting up info about how we as lifters or self-trt guys can blood testing and related stuff done in NZ, inside and outside of The System.

I am going to go with Pathlab after still having no true success accessing my trove of test results and need to go private.

They're an On Demand service and seem to he exactly what I am looking for. There's some subtle clues in their stock art and marketing imagery:

The other places I looked had panels for hundreds of dollars with tons of unnecessary years, here you get things individually and some we want seem very cheap. $30 for Testosterone for example.

you get results in 1-2 business days. Have to ask the nurse to send the results to your email before getting blood drawn or they send it to your GP and not you. Done a 3 month test only blast and just on trt now

How did you get the referral for Awanui Labs the time you paid $50? That's where I get the the liver bloods done but the referral is generated by the methadone clinic. Can you pay Awanui directly?

You just make an appointment online. Go there and tell them what blood test you want done and pay afterwards.

Oh nice if you keep getting insomnia i recommend getting a melatonin prescription helped me a lot, starting gear has got me exploiting the gp system a lot more.

I have a vial of HCG that i regret buying. It's been refrigerated in powder form with the bac water for like 4 months now if anyone in chch i will sell it to them for cheaper. I was gonna buy AI if I got side effects but never did so don't need. I don't plan on PCTing until maybe in 2 years when I might permanently move to Japan.

I was gonna use that vial after my final pin for my cycle then pct with nolva but just decided to cruise until next year.

honestly bro from my experience, go to the GP tell them what your doing, tell them your going to do it anyway and would like a blood test checking all of these things, if the GP isnt keen go find a new one.

You can walk into any Pathlab and ask for a self test, they give you a form to fill out and in other you put what you want tested off the list above and pay on the spot.
Generally will email results within 24 hours. Going through a doctor and getting full bloods every 3 months is free though, so long as you have a good doctor. Handy if you want to check anything in between.

And they also have an option for current gear users for a similar price, looks like they help monitor bloods and assist with sides etc. and even offer possible prescriptions (im not sure what)

Nah ive been off gear for almost a decade now. Have recently decided to jump on again and am just getting my ducks in a row.

Not particularly sharing that website specifically for TRT but more so the fact they offer a large panel of blood tests for $180 which seems to be reasonable if it is comprehensive (waiting on them to get back to my email regarding how comprehensive it actually is)

Just another option for testing/monitoring if it turns out to be good. I saw a post somewhere in this forum where someone mentioned the website and i was already looking into it so was interested on peoples experiences if theyve used it

I havent used Selfcare men, very interesting that they offer that service. Most times, if youre straight up with your doctor they will order you the tests for free (well for the price of the appointment). They want to make sure youre being as safe as possible.

My levels were very low without even trying to crash them. T was around 6. From what i heard selfcare men will prescribe you if youre below 12. And public sector is different doctor to doctor but below 8 will generally get you a prescription.

They tried to put me on gel first. But i said i had kids and didnt want to risk transfer. So they put me on Sustanon 250. 1ml ampules. They dont prescribe vials through the public sector, but ive heard they do through selfcare men.

I started on 1 ampule per fortnight. Upped to 1 ampule per week, split the dosage 50/50 Monday + Thursday. When I want to blast i just add in some extra Test i got from @AuStarLabs + other compounds.

hey john glad to see you're taking charge of your health man! honestly doctors can be super annoying about gatekeeping those results especially in those types of programs. if youre in australia or somewhere similar check out "my health record" online you can usually log in with your gov ID and see every lab result that gets uploaded there. if you want to go totally private and keep it away from your regular records just google something like "i-med" or "privatemeds" where you just pay for a referral online and walk into a pathology clinic. it costs a bit of money out of pocket but they just email the results straight to you so you can actually see the numbers for yourself without having to explain anything to a doctor!
