Jp thank you for the feedback.

Perhaps Kielbasa may be a better option. ill do some researching, i never seem to track sodium and i really should.

Im interested to hear some of your favorite protein/meat hacks. Please share !

If your goal is to lose fat then forget about bratwurst or anything else more than say 10% fat content. I only eat a few meats... ever - lean grass fed ground beef, lean ground turkey, skinless chicken breast (fat trimmed off) and lean fish.

If you are bulking or just don't care about some extra fluff then don't eat that shit too often. Its not good for you, period. lol

Venison, bison, turkey, fresh water fish (wild caught).....sausage and kilbasa is very high in fat and sodium....unless you Mahe your own of course.

It's a little lower in Fat, but not by much.
But it's even Higher in Sodium and that's a Killer................................... JP
P.S.
There are some Chicken Sausages that Trader Joes' has.
But again, some are OK, and some are just Terrible.
You have to Read the Labels.
P.S.S.
Track your Sodium, cause that can Derail your Attempts at Losing Weight.
Try Myfitnesspal.

+1 on Myfitnesspal. Simple and the scanner is great.

Anything with a label will kill you i guess.

I do have a freezer full of ground elk, steelhead filets, and sockeye.

Need to go rope me some springers here and fill the cooler

Germanbro checking in.

Most sausages are more fatty than protein laden. Are they awesome? Yeah they are. Good to eat as a protein source? Not really the best option. Not even close.

With an Evo diet it can be implemented......especially with carb cycling. But as far as sodium, yes it is higher which could be counter productive. Its all about your goals and your protein, fat and carbs ratio

I fall into this line of thinking as well. It's actually a pretty good keto food, just keep an eye on your sodium requirements. For me, personally, I can only have it once in awhile. I find the sodium content extra beneficial before a high volume squat session.

Try and stay away from sausages and anything else processed. They're very high in sodium and saturated fats. Lunch meat you get at a deli, the same thing high in sodium and saturated fats. You're with lean beef, steak chicken, eggs, and fish

processed meats are an absolute killer

its one of the worst things you can put in your body.. not only is it fattening but it also is very unhealthy for your heart

the healthiest meats you want are wild fresh fish, turkey... I read something the other day that chicken is one of the worst meat options because of its insulinogenic effects, so if you are a chicken person you should swap that out for fish more often .. and we do eat a lot of chicken in this country and are fat so no shit

Even the fresh meat they wrap for you at the market has sodium put in it by the supplier.

of course, they need to keep that shit from going bad. when you have an inventory that gets thrown away and wasted you gotta do that.

another reason I love fresh fish, nothing beats that

If I'm grilling with the family I may have one without worrying about but it's pretty rare. We occasionally have turkey kielbasa but honestly I don't think it's a whole lot better. Not to mention I need to eat about a pound of it feel full.

Most of these processed meats are not the best choice because they also contain high amounts of such additional ingredients as soya, which is not good for prostate functioning. So I would stick to natural meats, that can be prepared in a lot of ways.

Yeah its crazy because they slap sodium on meat before its shipped to market and then people pour salts and condiments on it and cook it in heavy oil. The body is strong as fuck to take so much punishment.

Generally sausages are not the best foods to diet on because they contain fillers and binders. Stick with MEAT. NOT meat like products.

I.e. eat chicken breast. Not deli chicken breast roast etc.
