Electronic abdominal stimulation.

I'm thinking about buying one of these bands that you put around your abdominal and it makes your muscles contract from electric shock. I used one at the store as a demo and I got a wicked pump on my arm where they sales guy put the band on, it was like I had done a couple of sets of curls. Any of you try these before and what do you think about the results?

All these things are Gimmicks of Real Medical Devices.
EMS - Electrical Muscle Stimulator and the TENS (transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulator).

EMS ~is to treat Muscle Injuries and while it does help with Blood Flow and Stimulate Muscle Growth.
It won't give you Six-Pack Abs or Biceps of Steel or any of that Bullshit.

TENS ~ is to help treat Nerve Injuries again by Subcutaneous Stimulation of the Nerves and Muscle.
And again this won't give you any Increased Muscle Size, this is more to Deaden the Nerve Pain.

I happen to own Both Types of machines, and I wish they could do all my Exercising for me.

I used to use a TENS unit on my back to get the blood flowing in my muscles and chiropractors use these all the time. yes they work, but NOT for building muscle lol. they do not break down muscle through hypertrophy, they merely speed up blood flow

Yep, my chiropractor uses one every time I go to loosen up my lower back before the adjustment. It works great for that purpose but the machine is nothing for muscle gain or growth

lol thats funny my chiropractor used this and i told him to stop, i didnt see it helping much. But yea, you will get very minimal results from that

Should do something, but not as good as a real workout obviously. Id use it only for abs while you're watching TV or something. Really there's no difference between that and actually contracting the muscle on your own.

If that electrical pulse shit worked as good as they claim on infomercials, you'd hear of bodybuilders dying from chewing telephone wires, not aas use

really only way for chiropractor to attack muscles is through TENS, stretching, or massage therapy.. and then through temperature control with heat.

a good chiropractor should have you do all 3 during your visit, with the adjustment being the first thing.

but people do not realize they don't work to loosen the muscles, they actually tighten up the muscles. the idea is long term the increase in blood flow and breaking down the muscle will speed up healing and strength. not a bodybuilders strength but strength in general with fragile people or post accident.

best way to loosen up the muscles is the good ole sauna and a nice hot bath with fragrance.
