Hey guys. I'm kind of new to the online searching for stuff. But not new to working out. I've worked for close to 10 years up till 3 yrs ago when my brother was taken in a car accident. He was my workout partner and gtg. So many stopped working out for around 2 yrs after that. Been back working out for about a 1yr now. I know everything has to be earned in this world. Just have always like getting peoples take on there diets and supplements. Looks like a lot of cool people here and I always enjoy making new friends.

Welcome!! Intermittent fasting has had the best results for me and many others around here. It'll at least time you place to establish your macros...

Hey bro, welcome to Evo. What do you plan to accomplish?

You can follow some diet fad or cookie cutter type layout, and those are fine and dandy. But its best to find what works for you.

Personally I've found great success with intermittent fasting for weight loss. And for bulking I love a high protien, moderate fat, moderate-low carbs. I've also found I can get absolutely shredded on a high Carb low fat diet. But everybody is different. I'm sure lots of guys would disagree with me.

If you are just starting out, I would recommend intermittent fasting with a high protien diet full of low GI carbs. The rules are simple and easy to follow.
I'm sure lots of other guys will come in on this with some great ideas for you.

Welcome brother!! Sorry to hear about your loss. What are your physical goals, and you should post some stats so we could have a better shot at narrowing it down for you.

Intermittent fasting is not a diet man, it's an eating protocol

This exactly. If eating at a caloric surplus with whatever eating schedule you desire (intermittent, 6 meals a day, 3 meals a day...ect) expect to gain weight, just because you choose to eat all your meals within 1 feeding and without a caloric change doesn't mean you're going to magically lose weight. With that being said Intermittent fasting seems to work well for me on cuts due to the increase in satiation and it's effects on ghrelin.

Sorry to hear about the car accident. Give this article I wrote a read. It contains a full sample meal plan for someone getting back into the gym after a lay off. http://needtobuildmuscle.com/bodybuilding-blog/2015/02/24/getting-back-gym-lay/

Here is a grocery shopping list you can print off and take with you to the grocery store: http://needtobuildmuscle.com/bodybu...timate-grocery-shopping-list-serious-athlete/

Here is what I am currently doing for my offseason: http://www.evolutionary.org/forums/anabolic-steroids-peds/offseason-week-9-check-35903.html
I have all the details of my current meal and supplement plan listed.

Hope that helps!

Why don't you post your current diet and we can take a look at it bud and give you some insight

Welcome to the EVO community! I am sure that you will find here lots of good friends!

When I 1st started back I was just working on getting my body fat% down and getting back in shape. Now I'm trying to eat around 1.5 grams per a pound. So I can start adding nice muscle. I had pretty good form to my frame when I started back. So many it didn't take me that long to get back in the swing of things. Thanks for all the great advice. I alway like hearing other people's take on things.

Welcome to evo man.

Thanks bro. At first I was just trying to get my body fat % down. Now wanting to pack on hard muscle. So I'm eating a lot of protein. I'm keeping my fats down and carbs also.

I'm so sorry about your brother. I'm glad you are back in the gym. Keep your head up.

Like stated above, there are so many variations of diets out there. And what works for one, sucks for another. Try a basic 40/40/20 macro split to start and adjust from there. That always worked for me. ...I would just have to adjust as needed. Good luck

Welcome aboard! My diet is mostly carnivorous. I eat mostly chicken, red meat, pork and fish. I eat some vegetables, but not much. And I suggest avoiding carbohydrates like the grim death, especially bread and pasta. It's based off of the Adkins diet. I hope that's helpful.
