Lactose intolerance

After drinking protein, I get gas and bloating. The more I drink the more bloat I feel. I also drink a lot of milk. How likely I have lactose intolerance issues?

about 90% of adult humans have a lactose sensitivity or intolerance. I know myself personally that if I consume any milk products or a protein supplement that contains lactose, it absolutely destroys my stomach.

There are two main types of whey protein available: a whey protein isolate and a whey protein concentrate. The problem with a whey protein concentrate is that it will contain a few grams of lactose (the milk sugar naturally occurring in dairy products) per serving. The majority of adult humans have a lactose sensitivity which can cause GI issues like gas, bloating and diarrhea. A whey protein isolate on the other hand is essentially pure protein and will have only trace amounts of lactose.

When purchasing a whey protein isolate you want to see nothing in the ingredients list besides whey protein isolate, natural flavours, a natural calorie free sweetener like stevia and maybe some salt, cocoa powder and soy lecithin.

I personally use the whey protein powder wheytobuildmuscle from n2bm.com. A 30g scoop has 24g protein, 2g carbs and 0g fat.

there is lactose intolerance

we know that ethnicities are more prone and we also know as you get older you become more lactose intolerant.

there is also a dairy intolerance, where people get bloated

we also know that soy and gluten can also cause bloat with people. i'm not going to get into conspiracies on that but some believe it is from the GMO's, pesticides, etc. that are put into these foods.

whatever it is i have found avoiding those 3 things will significantly reduce my bloat and my stomach feels better. so check ingredients and AVOID

It certainly sounds like you are Lactose Intolerant.

So you want to stay away from Whey Concentrate, and go with a 100% Whey Isolate, sweetened only with Stevia.
As Artificial Sweeteners can also cause Digestive Issues.

And as far as Milk is Concerned, if you still want to drink it.

Fairlife Milk ~ is Lactose Free ~ 50% Less Sugar ~ 13 Grams of Protein ~ and Hormone Free..................... JP

Very likely you have an issue with lactose or just dairy in general. What you want to do is get a pure whey isolate and see how you respond to that. n2bm makes one with no lactose in it. If you were to try that and still have issues then you cannot have any dairy.

I buy really cheap protein in Canada and used to get the exact same problem while bulking. Now that I'm on a cut the protein doesn't mess with my stomach at all, likely because my diet is now a lot more strict and I don't have room to eat processed foods.

I suggest looking at your diet and trying to find other things that may mess with your stomach, for me I'm pretty sure pizza pops were messing with my stomach bad.
