Hearing some things about Mirabegron. It is used for an overactive bladder. I don't have prostate issues so far as I know myself. However during contest season I do seem to pee often in the evening.

Here is what the AI says.

Mirabegron is a medication that functions as a β3beta 3-adrenergic receptor agonist. While it's primarily used to treat overactive bladder, some research indicates it may also have effects related to metabolism and exercise capacity, leading to discussions about its potential relevance in bodybuilding.

Potential Effects Relevant to Bodybuilding:
  • Lipolytic Activity: Mirabegron can affect fat metabolism by stimulating lipolysis (the breakdown of fats) in both brown adipose tissue (BAT) and white adipose tissue (WAT).
  • Increased Insulin Sensitivity and Glucose Uptake: The drug can indirectly influence carbohydrate metabolism by increasing insulin sensitivity and supporting cellular uptake of glucose. This could be beneficial for nutrient partitioning and muscle growth.
  • Improved Exercise Capacity: Some studies suggest that mirabegron could enhance exercise capacity.
  • Beiging of White Adipose Tissue (WAT): Mirabegron has been shown to promote the "beiging" of WAT, which means transforming some white fat cells into beige fat cells that have characteristics similar to BAT and can increase energy expenditure through thermogenesis.
  • Positive Effects on Skeletal Muscle: Studies have indicated that mirabegron can induce beneficial changes in skeletal muscle, such as improved insulin sensitivity and increased expression of PGC1A, a key regulator of mitochondrial biogenesis and muscle fiber type.
Important Considerations and Potential Risks:
  • Cardiovascular Effects: Mirabegron can elevate blood pressure and pulse, and there is a potential risk of cardiovascular complications, particularly at higher doses.
  • Off-Target Binding: At higher doses, mirabegron can have off-target binding to other adrenergic receptors, such as
    β1beta 1
-adrenoceptors, which may contribute to cardiovascular side effects.
  • Dose-Dependent Effects: Some beneficial metabolic effects are observed at higher doses of mirabegron (e.g., 200 mg), which are not the standard dose approved for overactive bladder (50 mg). The safety of these higher doses for long-term use in bodybuilding is not fully established.
  • Further Research Needed: While studies show promising effects, more research is required to fully understand the long-term effects of mirabegron and its potential use in combination with exercise for bodybuilding.
Conclusion:
While mirabegron has been studied for its potential metabolic benefits and effects on fat loss and exercise capacity, it is not approved for use in bodybuilding. Its use in this context is associated with potential risks, particularly cardiovascular side effects. Any consideration of using mirabegron for bodybuilding should be discussed with a healthcare professional to assess potential benefits and risks.

Curious is anyone using? Any experience shares. Also where to procure. Is there a source site?

TIA

I’ve always been that guy who has to pee all the time so I’ve looked into these drugs. My main concern would be the consequences of not getting rid of urine as often. What effects could that effect on kidney stones or uti issues. I already have a history with both so I would be concerned

@PrinceDaddy I’ve experimented with mirabegron out of curiosity after reading about the fat-burning effects. It definitely has some interesting mechanisms like activating brown fat and increasing thermogenesis but it’s not a magic bullet. The dose needed for real metabolic change is much higher than what’s prescribed for bladder issues and that’s where the risk creeps in!
At higher doses it can spike blood pressure and heart rate which is not something you want especially during a heavy cycle or while cutting. It also gets expensive fast since the therapeutic dose for fat loss is off-label and way above insurance-covered ranges. I didn’t notice any real changes in body composition or gym performance after a few weeks in any of my clients that wanted to test this.
The appetite suppression was mild, but nothing better than clen or even ephedrine. Some guys talk about better nutrient partitioning but I think that’s mostly placebo unless your diet and training are already dialed in. Honestly there are better and cheaper tools in the bodybuilding arsenal for cutting or recomp phases. If you want to experiment sure, but I wouldn't do it so close to your show.

bro can always strap cathetor and piss in it at night
that what my wife do. she too fat to make it to outhouse middle of the night plus we got coyotes

i love to see this sort of research on these drugs. i have honestly never heard of it so its a good read. thanks maybe give it a go
