Proud moment!

EVO V.I.P
So recently my mom decided to change her lifestyle and start working out. Before December my Mom was a very unhealthy eater. She cooked unhealthy, she ate unhealthy and she didn't show any signs of change. She literally drank 5 cups of coffee per day with 4 scoops of sugar and tons of cream, she never ate bfast and would have a sandwich loaded with mayo for lunch. For dinner she would make pasta or frozen chicken pattys....just crazy unhealthy things. My brother, my husband and I have been on her for years....she would get defensive and say that we were "juicers" and obsessed with looking good.

My mom never looked bad, she has a super active job that keeps her on her feet running around 15 hours per day 11 months a year. So she never looked fat, she is small abs muscular naturally so she always looked ok.

In December she decided to join our gym and hire a personal trainer (she didn't want any advice from us. ....because she didn't want "big" muscles, lol) the trainer she hired was an older lady, with old school ways. My mom loved her and her approach.

Needless to say, my mom literally revamped her eating habits.....she quite sugar 100 percent which we thought would be impossible. She weighed herself this morning and is down 25lbs....which is nuts because to look at her you would not have thought she needed to loose 25lbs.

She is a total gym rat and will even take advice from the juicers, hehe (I have to laugh because it's so funny when she says it). She turned 55 in January. She's in the best shape that I can ever remember and she continues to make me proud as the days go on.

I had to share this story...I hope it inspires you guys. Anybody else have simular stories? Share them.

this is a great accomplishment when you can get someone close to you to change their lifestyle like this.. it is likely she will be hooked and then do the same for someone else.

if we all try and make a difference and pay it forward the world will be a better place

yeah, I luv hearing people willing to change, especially something drastic. I'm trying to get my 16 yr old son to make the healthy eating change, but it's been a process to say the least, I do have hope though. sometimes it's a tall order getting teenagers to do anything, haha.

That's awesome! Its wonderful that your mother has made the lifestyle change to become a healthier person. I'm still working on my mother, who just turned 60. She's made some small changes to her diet but still has a long ways to go. Thanks for sharing

Congratulations! I'm also working on both of my parents to stop smoking, that's the first and most important thing to me, and get them to start going to the gym or at least go to the local track and go for a walk or even a jog perhaps if they get in good shape. My dad probably won't be able to cause he got injured about 10-12 years back while he was at work, so I'm saving up some money to buy him and I a pair of bicycles and we are gonna cycle this summer. I live in the greater Cincinnati area so there are plenty of great sites to see while cycling. I'm really glad you shared your story with us, and I hope she continues to live that lifestyle! Very motivational!

Congrats!!!

Most people have no idea what just being active does for their health. Having golas and a purpose just increases the chances of continued involvement. Go Mom!

Tell that Young Lady I said "Great Job".
I just wish more people in general would Wake Up, and start taking care of themselves.............................................. JP

I wish my mom would get that into it. She has a trainer now and then but I'm sure they don't probably do a lot. My mom is about to be 65 though
