I’m interested in retatrutide. Do you think 2 mg a week would be good and should I go for 14 weeks or should I go for 20 weeks? Also when it comes to increasing the dosage, what is the maximum you’d recommend? I’m thinking of increasing by 1 mg every 4 weeks. My goal is to lose about 50 lbs.

2mg weekly is fine and run it 20 weeks
Max I’d go is 4mg and only increase 1mg every 4 weeks.

Following. I’m in the same boat as you.

40lbs in 6months is the plan.

Reta doesn't saturate in the body for about 6 weeks and the real magic happens well after that. Clinically "significant" results appeared around week 24 and maximum therapeutic benefits were seen at week 48. You'll need to run it for 6 months and you can start at 2mg and increase every 4 weeks until you reach 4mg. There's not a lot of data for anyone needing more than 4mg, anything higher than that was only for clinical trials.

Save up and plan to run this over a year is my advice if your goal is long term weight loss and your BMI is over 35 with a high body fat % or you're trying to lose more than 20% of your bodyweight.

Reta isn't like steroids where you'll see results in weeks, it is probably one of the best health and longevity drugs invented so far but the bad news is it takes a long time, which healthy weight loss should anyway.

Both of you could lose that weight easily without Reta but Reta will make it less of a battle and feel way easier. It will also help whatever bloodwork is out whack with you from Day 1 vs. Day 300 for example, or much earlier, possibly by week 6-12 to some degree.

Clinical doses ran as high as 12mg, but I've seen plenty of people now have serious digestive issues with as little as 1mg/ week. Might recommend kick off at 0.5mg and tapering up an additional 0.5mg/ week.

2-3mgs a week is good with reta or tirz. those are both good options. i highly recommend either

Yes clinical data ran 1, 2, 4, 8, and 12 but there wasn't much difference between the 8 and 12mg groups and more than 4mg didn't much in the way of extra significant therapeutic benefits. I can imagine that at 12mg vs. 4mg there was diminishing returns in terms of side effect, especially digestion.

@R.AP is correct start low and slow with this and titrate up. You're running it so long so let it saturate over 4-6 weeks and then work it's magic after 24 weeks by going slow and keeping digestion in check.

Nothing wrong at all with the advice to start at 500mcg and run it up to a max of 4mg. The most I EVER recommend is 4mg and rarely do people need more than 2-3mg.

with these glp1's you want to start slow. once the sides die down after 1-2 months then you can gradually increase the dosage.

tirz is double agonist. reta is a triple agonist. that is the best you can do

I’m on Reta. Started at .5 mg on MWF schedule mid June. Down 53 pounds. Never went over 1.5 MWF or 4.5 mg/week. It hits GLP1, GIP, and glucagon receptors while Sema only hits GLP1, and Tirz hits GLP1 and GIP. The glucagon receptor seems to really be the key to the improved performance, including longevity benefits. Can take 4-6 weeks to build up and take off. Biggest side effects are gastrointestinal issues. You can take it forever. I’m titrating down, at 1 mg MWF, trying to figure maintenance dose.

Stopping Reta after 6 weeks is a waste of money; it takes 6 weeks for it to reach a steady state concentration and be saturated in the body. This is exactly the point in which Reta really starts to work. For those looking to lose a lot of weight like the OP wanting to lose 50lbs a minimum of 24 weeks is needed as that has been shown is when significant clinical results begin with these results reaching maximum benefit after 48 weeks.

You'd be doing Reta a disservice as a compound by stopping it once it's reached full saturation and begins to have the opportunity to provide it's intended effects.

Hopefully you come back on here to check replies... we're here and can help

I started at .5 mg MWF, to see how my body accepted Reta. Moved up to,75, then 1 mg over a month period. Stayed at 1mg for about a month then up to 1.3 and finally up to 1.5, all on MWF schedule. Lost 55 pounds in about 5 months. Calorie deficit, exercise, and 1g of protein per pound of targeted weight per day.

So started at 1.5/week and ended on 4.5/week?

Yes, never went higher. Max recommended dose is 12 mg, but difference between 8 mg and 12 mg is negligible, so 8 mg is best cost wise for people needing to lose a lot of weight. For the 50 pounds you’re looking to lose, 4.5 will do the job. I’m actually titrating down as I am basically at weight goal. Still need to lean out though.

As seen in many logs on here, 8-12mg is a very high dose and there isn't a lot of anecdotal data showing that much over 4mg has ever been needed for long term results.

Totally agree. That dosage is for people trying to lose lots of weight. And from what I have read from many others, the 4 mg level is very common. But the 8 and 12 mg were part of the clinical trials.

Not many loggers on here even go to 4mg. And Reta starts to show it's results best at week 24 and maximum therapeutic results are reached at week 48.
