Good morning, I have utilized this board for years, it has always helped me when researching issues and it's one of the best, just a great source of information, thank you. Well here it goes, it's rare I ever post on any boards, I use this name but if you look on most of the major hoards I've been a member for years but never made a single post, I just poke around reading all the posts learning what I can. I have been using gear for over 20 years, I used to brew my own fina back in the day, before the ugl's came and made life so much easier, I have seen a lot, so many changes, but really no time for stories. Here is my issue which I am hoping to get a lot of encouraging input. High 500 mg/ml gear (test deca*tren, u kno the mix, *have heard high eo content*) was on 4th week and did 2ml to my non virgin muscle pin cushion left quad. Had been getting tolerable pip from the start. But then last Wednesday, it was like a normal jab, nothing felt weird, by Friday was getting slight pip. Saturday I was hobbling. Sunday swelling in the knee and leg, still crippled. No redness no hot to the touch just swelling and tightness. Yesterday was no different, I am out of the gym now I can hardly bend my knee, and sitting or getting in and out of a car is excruciating. Went to emergency room yesterday (Tuesday), told doc I took a b12 injection to my quad 6 days ago, gave me a weird look, but after a full examination he said it wasn't an infection and gave me 600mg ibuprofen and a muscle relaxant called zanaflex... he said it' possibly just muscle spasms, to rest and heat on and off and if it's still bothersome in a week come back. Guys, I'm dying, I have never in my 20+ year history of using ever had this intense pip at 7 days, can' bend my knee more than a little so sitting on a chair is difficult and painful, and for me to be out of the gym all week you know it's bad because I just don't miss, I'm there on Xmas on hurricanes, I was even there the day my dad passed away. I've also missed work, basically bed ridden, praying for a miracle to get better soon. Looking for any advice or encourageent, again no fever, the general area where I pinned is slightly sore all around that area but the pain is involved in moving my leg and bending and walking, just sharp pains and the swelling is very evident down to the knee. I was hoping the doc would thrown me on some cephalexen to fight infections and prednisone for swelling but healthcare is insane, you are at their mercy. So I am gonna gonna give it more time, nothing else I can do but lie awake here suffering. Has anyone every heard of anything like this before? This has got me all depressed, I just want to get strong and be my old self, this fall cycle had me so pumped. I wanna see a light at the end of the tunnel but after 7 days now I am worse than ever, worse than 2 days after. Just the leg, I feel fine, no fever, good appetite, the leg just looks puffy but not red or bad, just not my typical quad. Guys, tell me I'm gonna be okay please, I need someencouragement*☺

I think I read this Correctly.

You did a High Concentration Mix and got terrible PIP, plus Swelling.

Sounds like an Allergic Reaction to EO, as it happened to me.
And it Literally took almost 3 Weeks for the Swelling to go down............................ JP
P.S.
Even had my Doctor look at it, and he thought the same thing.

why is it whenever someone has this issue it is always gotta be an infection? I am shocked the doctor didn't send you home with a bunch of antibiotics, because that is what they like to do

it could simply be tissue irritation, like JP said, this type of thing happens from time to time. i would avoid injecting that spot for a while. and this type of irritation can take 10 days to die down.

Thanks guys, just the input I needed. Weathering through this the best I can it's just nothing like I ever had before, the swelling snd not being able to bend the knee has literally crippled me 7 days later. Hoping for the best and that I can get walking and functioning normal again soon. No more quads for, I did a double 1ml insulin syringes to each trap and had just slip pip so that's where I'm going now. Thanks again.

Steve, I had such a Bad Reaction to Ethyl Oleate (EO).
1st my Quad Swelled up, then after about a Week.
The Swelling moved down my Leg to my Lower Quad, and down by my Knee got all Swelled-up.
It took just around 3 Weeks till it went away.

So since then, No Compounds with EO in them, and No Problems...................... JP

JP, good info, I am currently one week post injection and the swelling is in my quad, lower quad, and knee. Can't really bend my knee much at all without intense tightness and pain at the injection site. I can even feel the pain around the inside of the leg, so the entire quad muscle is tender. I feel no better today than I did yesterday or the day before, it's as bad if not worse. Did yours start to ease up as it went along? I am hoping I start to get some minor easing up on the intensity, I can't work, I can barely put socks on without excruciating pain, changing clothes and getting in and out of a a chair or a bed is a painful experience as well. I habe been hoping for a few days yo get some slight relief but it doesn't feel like it's getting better at all. I'm totally done with quads and Wil never use an EO compound agsin if I can help it. The thing was I did use this gear 5 weeks until this one jab destroyed me. And I even did two 1ml insulin jabs to each trap since then with little issue. This just sucks bad, hoping for a Mira me speedy recovery but ugh 😕

Sorry for all the typos, I'm like a big gorilla in bed crippled trying to type on this phone.... but JP I think this has to be what I am going through too, it started out like normal tolerable pip but then 3-4 days later major swelling and loss of range of motion in that leg, I'm like frozen trying to bend it little by little but the pain is insane when I do. Doc said no infection and I feel fine no fever other than being crippled in that leg. Just really pissed because this basically got me out of the gym and at the time I should be going hard. Really praying for a miracle and that I can at least be good enough to get back at the weights upper body asap. Right now I can't even sit or get on and off a bench, or change clothes without causing a scene.

I had Exactly what you are going through now.
I Initially had some PIP, then within a couple days the Swelling started.
Didn't really think that much of it at 1st.

I was Icing it for a couple days, and it stayed about the same.
Then I switched over to a Moist Heating Pad, and that's when things went from Bad to Worse.
The Swelling started moving down my Quad, and the Pain got more Severe.

That's when I knew it was an Allergic Reaction to Ethyl Oleate.
Which was also kind of weird, as I had used it before.
But I think the Concentration of EO was greater in the Mix I was doing.
As it was a Very High Mix Concentration.

It will take time, but Hang in there, and the Swelling will go down.
Just try Walking around the Block a few times a day.
This will keep your Circulation going, which should help the Swelling go down.................. JP

So glad I reached out and was able to read this, it gives me hope because you know after a week and seeing yourself not getting better can play on your mind big time. Thanks so much, I'm gonna do exactly that and hobble around the best I can and get through this. Thanks again for all the input guys, much appreciated.

One thing that helps big time with swelling - fish oil.

Fish oil is the best natural anti-inflammatory supplement you can take. Mega dose it for the next couple of days. I am talking like 10-20 grams per day. I promise you will instantly feel better.

Thanks guys, will be taking all the advice I can get, I take fish oil but I'll triple my dosage, also massaging and stretching and trying to get as much blood flow to the area as possible. Today is 8 days after and still in bad shape, I basically woke up, pulled my leg out of bed, long hot shower just working that area, dressing is not easy, putting pants and socks and shoes on is a painfully difficult task. I did it though and made it into work, luckily I have a good job that I can nurse myself and just take it easy. We have a long 3 day holiday weekend so I'm really hoping I can be back in the game again by then. This I literally has been the worst injury I have ever had, it's insane to think a little pin to my huge leg could inflict this amount of damage and incapacitate me how it has.

I'm going to try and stay on and end this post with the outcome in hopes ot will help others, I wouldn't wish this on my worst enemy. 8 days after the injection I am worse now than ideas 7 days ago. Extreme pain inn the entire quad region, no range of motion can't bend knee more than slightly without a tight excruciating pain. Can hardly put socks and paint on, it's a painful experience. So is getting in and out of a car. Going to give it a couple more days and go back to the hospital, out of work, out of the gym, no fever just pain and lots os swelling in leg and knee

I have heard guys react to EO just like JP described. It can be really nasty. Definitely stay away from that shit. Hopefully it is getting better now. I will await an update.

Admitted to hospital yesterday, had MRI, they are 99% sure it's an absces or hematoma, just a pocket of fluid with inflammation around it, I'm thinking absces.

Nurse said I have slightly elevated white blood cells and have been running a low grade fever of 99 degrees, I might just have a good immune system hiding a lot of symptoms.

The pressure on the leg is just insane, can't walk or move the leg without pain, it's torture, can't bend the knee even a little. *

They have me taking 10mg of oxy for pain, the plan tomorrow is to have it drained and they will test it to see if it's infected. Probably throw me on a course of antibiotics.

Really hoping for some relief soon, this has been a nightmare. And the hospital food is the worst part!

Wow, this is really unfortunate. The good thing is that you can have it drained and I am sure great relief after you recover. Hopefully in a couple weeks you are back to normal.

As terrible as your situation is - the good news is that it's not super serious. You will fully recover. It's going to take some time, but you will fully recover.

I am not sure if the cause of the infection was due to improper injection technique or dirty gear but whatever caused it - it's a good reminder for all of us that you can never be careful enough.

This is our health we are talking about. Use quality sources and take your time when doing injections.
