This is a very debated topic. I’ve come around to the idea that if your maximum weight, reps, or sets increase, your muscle will have grown.its a niece lol ~ cant hit a girl
If iron doesnt equal size, it doesnt really matter though. I go to the gym by myself and its not like im looking for girls in a body building gym, so competing for weight on the bar doesnt really matter to me. in a couple months ill go back to my first log and see if anything changed
In the context of a smaller powerlifter being able to lift more than some much larger powerlifters, it’s true that more weight doesn’t necessarily equal more size, but for your own progress, it will.
On top of that, if you’re a person with poor leverages (probably me, to an extent), you may not be lifting huge weight, but the weight that you do progressively lift more of can show more results on your body. This is the premise behind the idea that squats and deadlifts will be excellent weapons in your arsenal. As they have been for me. I’m not strong enough to compete with anyone but myself, but my logs and pictures show great results from progressing with more weight.
