Hi all, about a year ago I finally reached the point that I could no longer put up with the condition I was in. Fat, unfit and to be honest, disgusted with how I looked. It started slow with just trying to make healthier choices, then one day, after about 3 or 4 months of that I weighed myself and had lost 14 lbs! This sparked the motivation to get the rest of the weight off. I started at 235lbs and am down to 180/185lbs. I am 43 and really am just at the point where I am happy to take any help I can get I have lifted throughout the weight loss, but with the deficit and my age i have obviously not seen much by way of muscle growth.
My goal is to stay around 185/190lbs but improve composition. Diet wise I will be eating at around maintenance with a high protein focus.
I am at bjj 3x per week to that has cardio covered, I’m not sure if a 3 day full body on the other days with one day off is enough to make the most of the assistance?
I have been doing what research I can and am ready to try:

Hey mate, i’m fairly inexperienced myself but what i learnt from my self trt is to get bloods done before you start to see your base.
When i was at 125mg test e pw my e2 was to high so ive had to muck around lowering dose. Check with the more experienced guys but at 400mg pw might get some negative e2 sides?
 
Thanks for all the replies! I will take on board what everybody has said. I have had my blood work done every 3 months or so for the past year (not steroid specific, just general health screening), they started out with markers in the red all over the place but are now all in the green. The plan was to start the cycle and after 6 weeks or so have bloods done again, with a focus on the markers that may be affected and see where everything is and what may need adjusted.
If there is anybody in the uk that has a recommendation for who to use for this kind of blood test I would be glad to hear your suggestions.
I am travelling home today from holiday/vacation so the log will start in Ernest tomorrow with a weigh in/before pics etc.

Day 1:
Go back from vacation at 3am, however, I had decided that today is day one. Weighed in at 191lbs after two weeks of reckless eating on holiday hopefully some of that is water retention but we will see at next weeks weigh in.

10000 steps checked off the list before 3pm

Workout in reverse pyramid style (not inc warm up sets):
Incline dumbbell press - 2 sets
Flat dumbbell press - 2 sets
Incline dumbbell tricep press - 2 sets
Incline dumbbell curl - 2 sets
Dumbbell row - 2 sets
Cuban press - 2 sets

Diet:
I do better when i eat pretty similarly day to day until i get sick of something and then swap the daily meal out for something else, so the diet side of this will be pretty boring. Today I had a Hoisin and garlic beef and rice bowl with sugar snap peas and peppers for two meals, I have a protein shake and an Oreo ice cream for a snack later. I usually fast in the morning and have two main meals and a snack later

Total calories are 2544 with 156g of protein.

I will take a progress pic next Monday after week one is completed.

Back to work today, I’m self employed so leaving the business in the hands of others while I’m away for two weeks is always stressful and has a mountain of dramas for me to sort out when I get back. A high stress day, but stayed on track diet wise.

Food:
Same beef and rice bowl as yesterday split into two meals and then some sweet treats later to keep the pre bed snack cravings at bay. These little protein yogurts are great for snacking on.

Calories for today - 2444
P 220.8/C 259.6g/F 58g

Supplements:
The supplements I ordered arrived today so I’ll be taking the following
D3
Omega 3 fish oil
Calcium
Magnesium
Zinc
Creatine
Ashwaganda

Training:
RPT style training (warm up sets not listed)

Standing calf raises x 2 sets
Bulgarian split squats x 2 sets
Dumbbell RDL x 2
Nordic Curls x 2
Incline Dumbbell Shrugs x 2

Assistance:
Took my first 200mg shot of test yesterday on day one, Anavar arrived today so I will be starting that tomorrow. i am planning on doing bloods after 4 weeks and seeing how things are going, I’m not sure if this is too soon?

thats fine in 4 weeks @Celtic13Frost but start using organ liver cycle support like n2guard with anavar its a must

The var is a nice, low risk addition that I had tossed in my current run as well. Good pumps but if found it made me a little grumpier than just test solo at 350mg weekly.

Great job losing the weight I love weight loss transformations. Following. I'd make an effort to get your estrogen levels checked as soon as possible since you just started and then again near the middle so we can monitor whether you need an AI. My gyno came decades ago before I knew better and it's never left. Now I can do a gram of testosterone and keep everything in check. It's worth headache bro trust me.
