Approved Log My Cut Cycle Log: Road to 200lbs or less! My first cut ever.

bros a lot of gyms have pools these days. you scared of the ocean that bad?
I go stand in the ocean up to my neck but i am not going out of my way to swim laps and be shark bait. Actually here I dont know very many gyms that have pools honestly. I wonder if that is because so many people have pools in there yards. Most peoples pools in Florida are not for swimming laps they are for cooling off and letting the kids play.

Florida has soooo many critters. It would be pretty creepy to swim there. I did line work in Florida a few times. Throw a piece of food in the water, no telling what comes up to eat. Tres full of snakes and weird frogs. All kinds of bugs. My buddy’s waterski in the lakes all the time, no problem. Idk hahaha

we go river rafting on the river, we fish, we go an chill at the sand bars but i am not going swimming laps or long distance in any of the waters around where I live. I will go in the ocean and stand there and chill but I have been bumped by a shark doing that. We see sharks all the time where people are standing and surfing. We have people catching small bull sharks up in fresh water around here. What they call lakes around here I really call ponds unless you know for sure there are not gators in them you always got to assume there in there. Plus all the ponds around here are nasty. If I belonged to a gym that had a lap pool it would be different but I love my black iron gym. I just found out that apparently people think the gym i go to is the local bodybuilder and influencer gym in town. I knew a lot of the people competed in different divisions of bodybuilding, strongman, and powerlifting but never thought of it that way. I joined it just because i found out they had safety squat bars and safety bars on there bench press setups that was stuff i needed. So i joined and just did my thing. Got to know the people there and everyone has been great to talk with and discuss training, peds, and other parts of life. I guess some people are intimidated by that and I may have been also if I had know all that going in but I had no idea and was just excited they had safety squat bars so I could squat and not have to use the hack squat all the time. I also think from that experience all these competitors and big dudes being so cool with me made it easier for me to come on here and join this forum as well. You see a lot of the photos and logs titles when you first get on here and your just a guy doing TRT it can be intimidating at first. This forum had been so awesome just like the gym I go to. The gym I go to has the best variety of equipment geared towards the serious lifters in my town. If anyone is ever in Jacksonville, Fl need to check out Iron House Gym Jax. They do day passes.

or hear of stories of them going to the gulf stream and throwing them over. We call it the ledge. Its about 65 miles off shore it is where the gulf stream is and it drops off about a 175 feet there at the continental shelf and the current of the gulf stream is quick. Great place to get rid of a rat! If the gators dont get them in the everglades the crabs will clean them up.

bros yeah pools nasty anyway. people piss in them and old people crap in them. lol

Dang, I didn't even think about that. Nah I am staying dry and get my cardio on the treadmill and stair climber!
The last time I swam at the Y a little kid pooped in the pool. A day later I was sick with the big flu. It was the worst. I don't usually get sick like that. My daughter has been a life guard and swimming instructor for like six years. She’s had multiple UTIs and got sick a bunch of times despite being very fit and healthy. I don’t swim in pools. I did when I was a kid though. Pretty much every day in the summer.

@kcates nice work with the cardio on a rest day. The stair climber will definitely help getting that cardio in

Today is a rest day as well. I was not feeling cardio. I only did 15 minutes on stair climber. I haven't benched in 3 weeks. I had the itch so I am doing some 5x5 with the chains. Never used chains before. Pretty cool feeling.

Nope that's all I had except i just had a protein shake with water. Craving something chocolate. I think i like the protein shake better with water then milk.
I lift because it is enjoyable. Today I need to have some fun instead of 45 minutes on a treadmill for my own mental health. I get two days a week I can do whatever I want in the gym. Normally its abs and cardio on those days. Sometimes i got to say no and chose to do something different then the norm and today I tried out the chains. I enjoyed it. I think I may start doing heavy farmers carries again. 10 sets in 10 minutes on at least one rest day. I love the plate loaded farmers carries we have. At some point I am going to start lifting the atlas stones and the yoke. I think the strongman stuff at the gym is calling me!

Just an update on my caffeine cut journey. I am down to 75mg a day today. I was going to go from 150 to 100 but it was easier to weigh out my prework out to 1/2 of what I was doing last week. I havent gotten any headaches but I got tired this afternoon around 2pm. I was going to take a nap but I got up then went and did more chores. The problem i have now is I have like 6 tubs of mother bucker left to get rid of.

A caffeine cut sounds like torture to me. I fully intend keeping my last vice (well apart from gear that is 🤣)☕

Why do you want to cut caffeine? it's nothing horrible to be honest. :D

I recommended it to him. Quitting it is torturous but it’s amazing for sleep. It can affect your blood pressure. If you can be off of it it’s much better. It’s really hard not to lean on it as a crutch and he had worked his way up over 400mg a day iirc. Some people tolerate it much better than I do, I can easily admit that. It’s a struggle for me, and I use it, but I feel much better without

I did see that, but he has a very big shift in life he changed job directions, might be hard for him to do it in his situation. I do agree with you that long term it's healthy but it's going to be difficult for @kcates but hats off if he can do it, true EVO family respect :D

Well an update on that, this is day two of 75mg of caffeine a day. I get a little bump before the gym at 430 am. Then no more. So far it hasn't bothered me. Blood pressure in the afternoons is getting better and sleep is better. Next week will be around 35-40. Then I will probably just quit. Couple more weeks will see if my body reacts to no more caffeine.

Another big shift I quit my job today. It was with a friend but he's an asshole to his employees. I am just going to go back to fixing houses. Have not been the happiest time there but I am happy working with my hands working for myself. On to a new page in life.

I keep pre-workout on hand for days when I'm feeling tired before a workout. The trick is to use is sparingly so it keeps working and you don't need to keep upping the dose.

I don't think your pre-work will go bad and you got a lot of training in the years to come @kcates

Congrats on the big move bro. With those kinda skills there's never ending work to do. Most guys these days don't even know which side of the screwdriver to hold.

I owned my own construction business and still have it in place. I am going to go back to doing that. Focusing on small jobs-handyman work. Until I find a new opportunity in sales. With my skills, truck, and trailer full of tools I can always find work.

I am pretty sure it's causing blood pressure problems. As I come down on it my afternoon blood pressure is getting better. I get high blood pressure in the afternoons. Mornings read good but afternoon after I have had caffeine it gets 150/80.
I re-read your discussion with @toddthelineman it's a good idea to drop the caffeine and get your BP in check.

That’s a solid move and a smart shift if you didn't like what was happening. Sometimes walking away from a toxic setup is the best call you can make for your own peace. Working with your hands and being your own boss will give you pride and control over your days. Keep pushing forward, this new chapter will be better for you.

Thanks for the encouragement. I can always fall back on my skill set but I think I am going to still keep looking for a good sales career. I cant swing the hammer forever.

I am going to come off the caffeine see how things level out with my blood pressure. Keep losing the weight. See how I feel and get to my goal of 200. Then maybe introduce the caffeine again see how I react at a lower weight. I also think having it early morning and not any more through out the day i do better for my sleep. I actually had a one of the big gym bros ask me if I was losing weight Monday at the gym. It felt good to get noticed for my hard work.

The selling gig didnt workout?

I didn't quite answer your question last night. I cant technically sell it on my own unless I went and worked for another company. I don't really want to go work selling insulation again. You have to climb in hot attics and get itchy from insulation not the funniest job. Good money in it but like my wife said after 2 weeks being on your own and your friend doesn't handle his anger, frustration, and stress well, then takes it out on others and blames others for his mistakes. This is just a window into the future. I will move on now and find a better place to be then that.

Some of it I am sure is work and environment stress from working in these humid hot summers in Florida but it shouldn't see that much of an increase. I switched from valsartan to telimasartan I think that has helped being telimasartan is a longer acting blood pressure med. I really do think the preworkout is causing issues. Maybe I try a stimulate free pre-work out in the future. I like the beta alanine feeling. We will see what the future holds.

I like this food intake you're stable, whats your weight?

Thanks for the encouragement. I can always fall back on my skill set but I think I am going to still keep looking for a good sales career. I cant swing the hammer forever.

I am going to come off the caffeine see how things level out with my blood pressure. Keep losing the weight. See how I feel and get to my goal of 200. Then maybe introduce the caffeine again see how I react at a lower weight. I also think having it early morning and not any more through out the day i do better for my sleep. I actually had a one of the big gym bros ask me if I was losing weight Monday at the gym. It felt good to get noticed for my hard work.
Go slow, lets step this up 1 at a time and see how you do as you move from this current job, EVO family wishes you luck :D

This why we don't swim in lakes in Florida

You guys don't swim in any lakes in Florida?

That sucks for the inland people.

I remember I was in Florida for a hockey tournament years ago and there were gators in the ponds at the Hilton I stayed in. Stupid people were feeding them right next to the don't feed them signs. Those gators were never gonna leave.

You can swim in certain lakes. Some places will make sure they trap the gators and remove them when they come in. Typically springs the gators will stay out of because they are colder then they like. Years past there was a big gator in a spring. People were diving down and getting pics with the gator. Then the gator finally ate a person. We go to a place called Ginnie springs and we float down the river in tubes and swim in the springs. During the summer thousand people a day are getting in and float. There are small gators in that area we have seen. We haven't seen a big one but I am sure they are there. I guess cause so many people are In there they get use to humans and leave them alone. If it's a lake you don't know I wouldn't just go swimming in it. Even bass fishing on the banks you got to be very observant of the water. You just never know.

I just have coffee pre-workout
Nice, I have never been able to aquire the taste for coffee. I never really liked soda either. When energy drinks came out I got on those. Then went to powder forms years ago that I could just mix with water. Then when I started working out go into preworkout. Now I just want to cut out the preworkouts out. I don't know if it's the combo of stuff in there I think is making my blood pressure go up or just the caffeine. I am going to get off it and take a break for awhile and see if I can just go without it totally. If not maybe just implement cleaner forms if there is such a thing. That's my plan.

There's some good health focused jerky companies these days. Basically the polar opposite of that Jack Link's shit. The jerky I eat has like 10 all natural ingredients in it.

All you gotta do is read the ingredients label and if there's words you can pronounce you know what's up lol.

This the back of the pack from costco
Maltodextrin and potassium sorbate isn't great.

I eat a Canadian brand called Meridian smokehouse. I doubt you guys can get it down there cuz it's all natural and doesn't really stay chewable all that long. If I have a bag for 2 weeks it gets pretty tough. Good jaw workout tho lol

I was looking a few pages back, what are your daily supplements? can you give them again please @kcates

This isn't too bad, a bit too much sugar but you can mix these with protein bars.
Dinner I forgot to take a pic of my plate before I started. Got a pic of the leftovers. Blackened salmon.
That's nice, the salmon looks good. high proteins salmon! I like those meals thanks for the share.
On the jerky it's not even a handful it's like 8 little pieces that you can eat all in one bite. Curbs the appetite until dinner though. It's easy to take in the car all day.
It's a good start.

I thought this was pretty cool what my son made tonight. It's a 3D printed dragon and it is flexible. I thought it turned out really cool.
That's awesome, look amazing :D really the next level!

was looking to find the actual stack you take? can you share again please.

was looking to find the actual stack you take? can you share again please.
I am taking 10g of creatine x2 daily
Hmb 2.5g x2 daily
potassium 2 gram x2 daily
sodium 500mg x2 daily
beta alanine 5g daily
1/4 serving of Bucked Up Woke AF preworkout
vitamin D and k2 10,000IU/200mcg x1 daily
magnesium Bisglycinate 72mg elemental magnesium daily
asprine 81mg daily
Coq10 300mg daily evening
Wild alaskan fish oil 1400mg daily
Thorne Basic Nutrients multi vitamin
Magnesium Glycinate 1g evening before bed; 144mg elemental magnesium of that 1 gram.

Telmisartan HCTZ 80/12.5 mg daily
Then I am taking 144mg of test cyp. EOD. This is my last week then I am going back to 200mg a week but will probably divide that up to an eod shot.
Mounjaro 10mg 1 x weekly.

I was checking out your log. Man you looking great going on your trip to the DR. How was your trip?
it wasn't that good. my flight got delayed going there and the airline lost my bag lol. i had no underwear for 3 days. never fly spirit airlines!

yeah i know. i've seen them around but its still not as good as whole meats

I would give that a poor grade. look at all the crap they put into it. actual beef jerky should have 1 ingredient just beef. and MAYBE some salt.

honestly costco food quality is extremely poor, even their produce is poor as its shipped in frozen usually in bulk

yeah i know. i've seen them around but its still not as good as whole meats
No definitely not. But when you're a tradesman driving around in a hot truck all day with no way to heat up a meal it's a pretty good substitute.

i would get a yeti cooler. those really do a great job. i used to use it when i had to travel for work and i live in Orlando lol

But then how do you heat up your food if you're on the road? You can make sandwiches but that gets old quick and a lot of those deli meats are full of nitrites.

I usually eat while I'm driving between jobs.

thin slice chicken or turkey add salt and pepper to them. you have a whole foods right? their 'cold cuts' don't have nitrates. they have a damn good no salt turkey or salt/pepper roast beef they can slice up for you
also you can take things like fruits, cucumbers. frozen fruit, you can take a small toaster with you with a flat top to warm things up too or one of those george forearm grills. all you need is a plug

Yea I've seen some guys carry microwaves and stuff like that in the truck. I used to eat turkey and chicken sandwiches everyday but it's the one this I actually got sick of.

Maybe you've just exposed me for just being lazy lmao! I'm thinking about it now and I'm like, all that work for something I don't even really enjoy that much...nahhh jerky it is lol.

gas station and processed food is awful. imagine if you took your nutrition to the next level where you would be.

My jerky is all natural grass fed beef. No gas station food for me. Pack a lunch everyday.

Lunch everyday is a bag of jerky, Ezekiel bread and all natural PB, core power shake, and a big bowl of raspberries, blueberries, and hemp hearts.

Yeah, my wife's cousin use to be a stewardess for them. She would tell us some stories. She quit and went back to being a teacher here in Florida. It must not have been a good job if she quit that to go back to being a teacher here in Florida. Was the rest of the trip good?

We use to have a microwave in my construction trailer. I dont even know what happened to it. Also down here in Florida most of the time you can leave it on the dashboard in the sun and it will cook.
