I have had one of those deadlift bars for about 8 to 10 years as they started business nearby. It is absolutely awesome. Still as good now as when I bought it.

For sure nice work really big deads :D

Hey Team,

Just thought I’d do a bit of check in and touch base on everything outside of training.

Cycle:
7 weeks in now, running test/mast/HGH at 600/500/4iu. Definitely feeling the full effects, strength and size are coming up nicely and mentally I’m in a great spot. Planning to grab bloods this week and upload them. About 5 weeks out from introducing DHB, which I’m really looking forward to. HGH has been great for sleep and recovery, might bump it up to 5iu soon.

Diet:
Had a rough patch with some stomach issues that held back food intake for a couple of weeks, but things have settled and calories are back on track. Being on camp full-time means all meals are mess-hall based. A typical day looks like:

Breakfast: 4 egg omelette with bacon, cheese, and onion + 4 Weet-Bix with honey

Lunch: Meat with rice or potato, yoghurt with berries, oats and honey plus something small on the side

Pre-Gym: Coco Pops

Dinner: Roast beef, lamb or pork with potato, veggies, usually a pasta or curry, plus dessert

How I’m Feeling:

This prep has definitely been a challenge balancing workload, recovery, and time. Working 6 × 11 hour days as a chippy in a hot climate has been a big adjustment from my last environment. I’m feeling fatigued and stiff, but nothing major is holding back training. I think I’m managing it well and hard work never hurt anyone! Mobility has slipped a little the past few weeks, so I’ll dial that back in. Got 2 weeks off work in a month, which will be a great reset for rest and recovery. Right now it’s all about staying dialled in, training, eating, sleeping, stretching, no room for procrastination. Mentally, I’m feeling determined, driven, and loving the grind.

Really enjoying doing these logs, the support has been unreal. What a community we’ve got here. Keen to keep pushing and make everyone proud with some big numbers to come. Some nice triple PBs coming in the next 2 weeks!

And of course cannot forget Core Pharma for giving me the privilege of being a sponsored athlete! More than grateful for his support!

Hey bro nah that’s two 20s a 10 a 5 and a 2.5 either side
Nice talk about big lifting :D @BIGRED_
Squats 👊
Onto the final week of block this week then we’ll have a deload then onto doubles

235kg x 3 (triple pb)
2 x 5 @ 205 (sleeved)

Rdl
200kg x 3
2 x 8-10 @ 160kg

Banded leg press
3 x 8-10 @ 260kg

Leg extension
4 x 8-10 @ 80,80,75,75
Big milestone hitting that 235 triple, form looked tight and you didn’t fold under it. Strong follow up volume at 205 keeps the base building while still chasing PRs. RDLs and leg press stacked heavy after squats show your posterior chain is holding up well this block.

Monster deadlift day, that 250kg triple PB is a serious milestone and the 360kg single right after shows the base strength is there. The backoff work at 300+ plus the paused pulls at 205kg will carry over huge to your speed and lockout. Good balance hitting Bulgarians, curls with slow negatives, and weighted back extensions to round the session out. Well earned deload coming up, you’ve stacked enough heavy volume this week to justify it.

Deload Week

Lower volume and weight this week before heading into the next block.
Definitely well timed and well needed, Big week of Pbs last week plus some big overtime at work rest will do me well.
Just gotta focus on keeping the food, sleep and recovery on point.

Just over 10 weeks out so still a bit of time but creeping up, will be an exciting block ahead!

Deload looks right on point, keeping squats and RDLs at 140kg for controlled work while backing off volume will let you recover from that big push last week. Press and extensions kept light just to move blood, exactly what you want here. With 10 weeks out this reset is perfect timing, you’ll hit the next block fresher and stronger if food and sleep stay tight. :D

How are you feeling the DHB effects?
Some guys love the strength and hardness it brings but the pip can be rough depending on how it’s brewed. You'll notice a dry look and strength jump. @letsgo have you used Eq before?

Hey mate I’m still a couple weeks away from bringing in DHB (if I can find some :’(
Strap labs has it. Bought some the other day but haven't used it yet. Still working my way through some I got off hydrid back in the day.

That's one of the compounds I haven't used yet but I have some ready to go once I've finished my current weight loss.
Used DHB for ages in sensible doses and my body reacts really well to it.

That was a good read. Thanks for pointing it out. The different points of view are quite interesting.
I was hoping we get a training eq log from you :D @letsgo

That's an interesting idea. Never thought about that before. I'll think about it. Gotta finish striping off this remaining fat first.
You don't need to wait to cut up to post a log, no one is going to judge you for being heavy. EVO is a no judgement zone, we love and support :D @letsgo

Deload Week Recap

Kept it nice and cruisey this week stuck to my usual programming but ran SBD for 2 sets at about RPE 6. Accessories were still pushed fairly close to failure, but capped at 2 sets each of around 8-12

Work was massive with a heap of overtime, so overall recovery could’ve been better. That said, I’ve got two weeks off starting Thursday, so while training will still be rolling, I’ll be getting in plenty of rest and recovery.

Big doubles coming up this block, so things should start getting more exciting. Looking forward to keeping you all updated.

Grateful for every reply and, as always, to @Core Pharma Rep

Deload wrapped up and straight into Week 1 of the new block.

Great squat night, nothing too heavy, but really happy with how the top set moved, especially with form and depth. Backed them up with some strong back downs and RDLs

Two weeks off work starting tomorrow, so even though training will still be rolling, it’ll be a good chance to get some much needed rest and recovery in. Pretty happy with food and sleep over the previous weeks.

Strong start after deload. Squats at 225kg for a double and backing down with 195kg sleeved for sets is moving well, depth and form holding that weight shows the rest week did its job. RDLs with 180kg then solid volume at 140kg will keep hamstrings and posterior chain thick.

2 weeks off work lined up is perfect timing, you’ll recover harder with less stress and food plus sleep already on point means the next block should push numbers up even more. :D

Two weeks off work starting tomorrow, so even though training will still be rolling, it’ll be a good chance to get some much needed rest and recovery in. Pretty happy with food and sleep over the previous weeks.

Squats
225kg x 2
2 x 4 @ 195kg sleeved

Rdls
1 x 4 @ 180kg
2 x 10,8 @ 140kg

Banded leg press
3 x 8-10 @ 250kg

Single leg leg extension
3 x 8-10 @ 35kg

@Core Pharma Rep Athlete 🙏
@BIGRED_ Strong lifts bro.....keep shining.....

Hey guys sorry for the late update
Deadlift day

Unfortunately, came down pretty crook on Wednesday with a cold/flu. Because of that, my mid-week upper body session was just a light deload style session. By Friday, I’d gotten over the worst of it, so I headed in for deadlifts. Didn’t have high hopes after the sickness, and stiffness from a big day of travel, but the top set moved surprisingly well. I dropped the backdowns a bit since my back was playing up, but accessories still felt strong. Overall, a win. Better off getting sick 9 weeks out than 1 I guess

Deadlifts
240kg x 2
170kg x 3 paused

Leg Press
340 x 4
2 x 8-10 @ 260kg

Hamstring curls
3 x 8-10 @ 70,67,67

Back extension
2 x 10-12 @ 10kg

Good comeback after being sick, 240kg for a double moving smooth shows the strength held. Backing down on volume was smart while still keeping accessories in. 9 weeks out gives plenty of time to rebound stronger. :D

glad its passing quickly and definitely better 9 weeks out brother, hope you're feeling even better now

Hey team,
Bit of an unfortunate week just been, lower back has flared up pretty bad and didn’t allow me to squat or deadlift. Got in for some physio this week and lots of active recovery so I’m determined and faithful I’ll be back on track asap. Was still able to push most of my accessories and my upper days are feeling very strong which I will update shortly.

Tough week but smart call backing off squats and pulls till the back settles. Staying consistent with physio and active recovery will get you right fast. EVO family support your way.

Weekly Update

Hey guys, sorry for the lack of updates last week, just been managing this back injury and a bit out of routine while on break. Even though squats and deads didn’t go to plan, I managed to hit a solid 132.5 kg × 2 on bench Sunday, followed by 112.5 kg × 5 for back-downs. All upper body accessories moved really well and strength is feeling great.

Got back under the bar for squats todayx wasn’t sure how they’d feel, but managed to hit the double I missed last Monday at 232.5 kg × 2. Back pulled up a bit average after that, so I skipped back-downs and RDLs but pushed leg press and leg extensions nice and hard.

Fingers crossed deadlifts go to plan later this week so I can ease back into full rhythm. Appreciate the support as always, won’t let you down. 💪

Will get back on track with updates too 🙏

Bench is moving well with 132.5 kg for 2 and 112.5 kg for 5 proving upper strength is holding solid. Smart call skipping the back-downs when the back felt off and still pushing leg press and extensions hard.

Stay conservative with deadlifts this week and focus on smooth reps over load. You’re right on track to get full rhythm back.

@BIGRED_ back injuries are the worst. Maybe take some time away if it's really bad and just do some yoga. It'll help your flexibility and mobility and it'll help your spine decompress.

sorry for the bad back. I would avoid exercises that trigger it. @BIGRED_ Let's cross our fingers. It's not a herniated disc.
