Abs only day

Do you think it is worth doing one day dedicated only to abs? I have seen a video on youtube from quite a reputable guy, where he gives several exercises to be done in several sets. I always though that abs don't need that much work – mostly get lean and be happy.

Indeed, there is no explicit need to work all that much on the abs. If you want them to be visible and the six pack to be cool, you mostly have to focus on dieting and cutting, so there is no fat covering up your six pack. However, I do think that from time to time, for a matter of variety, you can actually dedicate one entire training session to abs.

Depends on your routine bro... personally don't dedicate abs to one day in particular.. I will focus on them more on one day - example, abs twice a week (150 sit up after a workout) then another day spend 20 mins on em (250 reps varied)

You can certainly devote a Day to Abs.
What I like to do, is some Body Weight work along with the Ab work, in a continuous Giant Set.
So Push-ups, along with Bridges, into Planks, into Leg Lifts, into Knee Lifts, and so on.
I do 15 Reps of 25 Different Exercises in Total, only resting for the amount of time it takes to start the next exercise.
Then I'll rest for 2 to 3 Minutes, and repeat..................................... JP

actually the abs are muscles that can be worked often. how about a set or two each workout to finish things off instead of devoting a day to them

Both these approaches sound very interesting to me - I will give them a try to see what works best for me. Thanks for the new ideas!

You can work them quite often and hard if you want to. I personally don't even train abs. They are there and defined for me if my body fat is low enough.

The risk if you are at a higher body fat is that the muscles get bigger and it just makes your gut look bigger. You want to be lean first.

I usually train them twice a week after cardio and mix them with calves on my cardio day. The truth is getting lean for them to show
