Bad shin splints running on cycle

I have run 5 cycles on the past, mostly just test around 500mg/week, to 600mg/week. I have always experienced extremely painful shin splints when running, around 4 weeks into the cycle that lasts for the entirety. My calf muscles become very tight and pumped but to the point were it is very painful. I have done minimal research but havnt had much luck finding information. I have read about painful lower back pumps and people taking taurine to help mitigate this, but havnt found anything about shin splints. If anyone else has experienced this and has anything to pass on that could potentially help it would be much appreciated.

Taurine can help but the effect differs from person to person. Make sure you are really hydrated too. Another possibility (my problem) is an imbalance between the muscle on the front of your leg compared to the calf itself. This imbalance can cause pain in the shin when running.

Another thing is your shoes. The quality and fit of your shoe can make a huge difference.

Masonic bb,

Thank you for the response. I have pain in front of my tibia as well, it's not so much the calf. I should have been more specific. I do intake over a gallon of water a day. I have also gotten new running shoes, I have just started a test e, Deca, anadrol cycle, so we will see if the pain comes back. Thank you for the info

Good to go, I will definetly look into this. Thank you. In the past I have never had an issue with this except when I was on cycle, I usually just cut back my running and live with it. But if this helps I'd be ecstatic not to have to cut back on cycle.

shin splints and shin pumps are not the same thing

what you have here are shin PUMPS

they are caused by your steroid use and they are simply blood rushing to the muscle. the only way to avoid them is not use steroids as a runner although EQ in my experience doesn't give you those nasty pumps

i've actually experienced both of these and would take pumps all day over splints. pumps are easy to fix, splints are very very bad and mine never went away.. i had to quit running because of them

The best thing to help reduce shin splits is natural anti-inflammatory supplements - think fish oil, krill oil, turmeric etc.
