I was reading caffeine has a 5 hour half life, does food consumption cause problems with the half life? thinking if I take my caffeine pills or drink coffee with meal then it's digested faster maybe? because acids in stomach go up, makes sense?

In no way does food consumption alter half life, (unless your consuming foods like grapefruit which has the ability to raise certain enzymes in the liver which in turn effects metabolism) but it can alter the speed of digestion which might make it seem like the caffeine is having a lesser effect on a stomach full of food. This is due to digestion, not half life.
No caffeine is better absorbed on an empty stomach. When you eat with it it will hit less hard and take longer to enter the system even if only slightly. But food will not speed up absorption.

Make sure to take into consideration that caffeine has been proven to interfere with vitamin absorption such as calcium and iron. So when you mention caffeine pills with food... But anyways your question: food does not change the half-life but rather delays it. You will notice caffeine taken on an empty stomach will have a faster effect.
