I need help with getting bloodwork advice. I am going to start my first cycle. I am 30 years old and have been lifting for 6 years. i think it is time for steroids but before i do that i want to get bloodwork done. is it best to just go to a doctor and if so what do i tell him? or can I do it on my own and save the time and money?

its up to you where you get it done from... here's a list of what to get tested

Complete Blood Count (CBC) w/ Differential: Hematocrit; hemoglobin; mean corpuscular volume (MCV); mean corpuscular hemoglobin (MCH); mean corpuscular hemoglobin concentration (MCHC); red cell distribution width (RDW); percentage and absolute differential counts; platelet count; red cell count; white blood cell count; immature granulocytes
Comprehensive Metabolic Profile ( includes eGFR ): A:G ratio; albumin, serum; alkaline phosphatase, serum; ALT (SGPT); AST (SGOT); bilirubin, total; BUN; BUN:creatinine ratio; calcium, serum; carbon dioxide, total; chloride, serum; creatinine, serum; globulin, total; glucose, serum; potassium, serum; protein, total, serum; sodium, serum; eGFR
Estradiol
Follicle-Stimulating Hormone (FSH)
Luteinizing Hormone (LH)
Testosterone, Total - Women, Children, and Hypogonadal Males, LC/MS-MS

The articles will let you know the info you need. How and where you get bloodwork done will depend on where you live

Great advice in those articles and on the forum in general. The most important thing is to get bloods regardless of where you go. You need to have a baseline then you need to get bloods again during your cycle to help keep things in check.

You'd be surprised at how many people skip this simple step and it costs them in the long run. It is more than worth the time and money.

I've been using privatemdlabs the last couple years and it is great. Pretty good prices and very discreet.

Just to give everyone a heads up.... I’ve been using privatemdlabs for a few years too and they’re great. However, recently they have added quest and labcorp prices have skyrocketed. So the logical choice is to opt to use quest. That said, the wait time for results is very long this time. I’ve been waiting over a week and will update everyone the total wait times once I get the results.

Yea I noticed this too. Used to be about $60 for standard female hormone panel at Labcorp but the price shot up. Luckily you have the option of Quest for around $70 I think.

You are right though, Labcorp turned that shit around in a day or two. You'll wait a week or more with Quest.
