Energy quite low today aswell but had a real good workout. Switched out smith machine squats for barbell squats and was able to go heavier and felt much better. Strength has definitely increased. Really really good sleep last night but today I’ve had to do a bunch of study so I had one of my Vyvanse which means sleep tonight is gonna be shit or absent. Currently in the traditional sauna as the gym staff said I’m too much of a unit to go in the IR sauna today, will be doing 20 mins in here at 82 Celsius

Hey mate, I know you've listed it before but what are you taking for sleep? And has it always been an issue?
Currently taking
magnesium, zinc, valerian
Will be taking cbd soon, finished up a consultation and will be speaking with doctor soon. And will start on melatonin in the next 2 days just been very busy

Main issue is getting to sleep. I’m in bed by like 6-7pm and trying to sleep but just can’t seem to fall asleep till very late
So you're in bed at 7:00 p.m. but not falling asleep until 3:00 a.m????

When you say you're in bed are you just laying in bed watching TV or playing on your laptop or phone or something? Cuz that could be a big part of the problem you're having

Yea in bed by 7pm trying to sleep for about 1 hour at a time then only phone for probably 15-20 then trying to sleep for another hour then 15-20 on my phone and repeating that over and over again till I sleep.

Going back on your phone isnt helping you ar all bro the bluelight and random information stimulus you are getting from scrolling will just be resetting you every time you go back on it. Try reading a book if you cant fall asleep brother.
Looking great! Leaning out and muscle is building. Oblique's are nice and visible and side chest is a great pose for you 💪

Yea I need to stay off my phone all night but it’s been like this my whole life, just tossing and turning in bed for hours and hours it gets really boring and it feels horrible. I’ll go find some books to read though, any suggestions?

Thank you mate, I watch a video or 2 on how to pose and just gave it a crack haha. I was telling @Gains Man how this is the first time I’ve ever been able to start seeing my abs while having some muscle. Not full on abs but a small start on abs haha.

Yeah they reckon if you can't get to sleep it's actually better to get up. Maybe start with trying to establish a sleep routine. Consistent time each night stop all tech, then read for an hour then go sleep.

Looking good in the new photos mate! Agree the side chest looks awesome!

Good squat swap, heavier barbell work was the right move and clear strength bump. :D
Energy drop today is likely from Vyvanse hitting dopamine hard.

how long are you on Vyvanse?

See there's your mistake bro, don't pick up that phone. The phone is just going to wake you up again. Do you have the blue light blocker setting turned on your phone?

Here's a tip someone told me a long time ago. Just lie there in the dark. Even if you aren't sleeping you're getting rest. You will fall asleep eventually, only a matter of time. But getting up and doing stuff just resets the whole process and makes it even harder to get back to sleep.

You slept from 3am to 9am the other day right? Why you going to bed at 7pm bro? Your best bet is pick some times that work for you. Say I can go to bed at 10pm every night and make that a goal. I will wake up at 7am every morning and set your alarm.

Before taking a bunch of sleep aids and stuff you really need to sort out a consistent sleep schedule for yourself and attack it like your training. You got this bro!!!

Agree improving sleep hygiene and structure before supplementation

alright brother, tonight I’ll lock my phone away till morning and I’ll go find a book. I go to bed at 7pm in the hopes of going to sleep earlier but typically doesn’t work. After 21 years of the same things happening every night just laying there tossing and turning I struggle to just lay there doing nothing for ages knowing I won’t be able to sleep for a while. No excuses tho I’ll start fixing up my sleep hygiene tonight.
Thank you for the help mate

Barbell squat I feel so much better in.
I’ve been on Vyvanse everyday for last 5 years except for last 2-3 months where I’ve only been taking them days I NEED to for study. I have taken a bunch of tolerance breaks for 1-2 months throughout the 5 years tho

Much appreciated mate. My whoop has an alarm which I will use to wake me up and I’ll try staying out of bed until a set time each night when I’m ready to sleep. Will be locking phone away all night and getting a book or kindle or something like that. Any recommendations?

Sweet me I’ll check that book out, thanks.
Not even just the abs, my mental health is a trillion times better then it’s been in the past 2 years, anxiety is gone, confidence is back and I’m feeling amazing. I wonder if my past STUPID cycles could’ve fucked up my natural test that’s why I was getting the anxiety and all that bullshit until I started this cycle?

Get some blue light blocker glasses for the evening, they're cheap on Amazon. Should help your brain settle down in the evenings. Try to get some sunlight early in the morning. 20-30mins would be great if you can do it. A sunlight light fixture is great but they're a bit pricey.

You need to get your circadian rhythm set more than anything else at the moment. Once that happens all the other pieces are going to fall right into place for you I promise.

7pm seems really early to go to be bro. It's a good time to wind down a bit but seems a bit early to lay down and go to sleep. Especially for a young guy like yourself with lots of life to live. Try and pick a bedtime that you know you can maintain pretty regularly even if you go out with some friends or whatever. Aim for 9hrs and expect to get 7-8hrs. Building a solid schedule that you can easily maintain most days will work wonders bro.

After that it's the small details that make improvements in quality. A sleep mask or black out curtains, ear plugs or some sort of noise machine, the supps and CBD like you said. Even buying a better pillow or bedsheets makes a big difference too.

But like I said, getting your body into a good circadian rhythm is far and away the single most important thing you can do.

Listening to binaural beats witubyour eyes closed before bed, or even to fall asleep can help. Anything you do make sure it doesn't get you amped up at all, like social media for example. And those blue light blocker glasses will help if you're watching a tv show or something.

alright sweet, I’ll try going to bed at good time and locking phone away and when I wake up I’ll go out and have my breakfast on the balcony in the sun. Will be getting a book Tuesday when I go to tafe.
Thank you mate.

you feeling fine on it with ED use?

Exhausted again today, due to having shit sleep. Even tho sleep was shit I had some pre workout and had the best push day I’ve had on a long long time, every exercise felt controlled and felt strong on most exercises. Flat bench increased from 70kg for 3 reps to 80kg for 7 reps.

Will be in bed trying to sleep at 9:30 tonight phone locked away and won’t be touching it all night. Have set alarm for 7am so when I wake up then will have breakfast out on the balcony in the sun.

Good plan! If you're reading to get bored that's a smart idea. I never like reading close to bed cuz I have a hard enough time absorbing the information when I'm wide awake haha.

Lots of PRs from the looks of it. Great session bro. Keep pushing those limits to maximize those gains!

I tried binaural beats I tried the iPhone sleep sounds I tried audio books none of it worked.
Hey nothing is gonna fix your circadian rhythm instantly. Even drugs. It's something that takes some short term commitment until it becomes habit. You're literally reprogramming your brain right now. Trust the process bro. It's just like building your physique. There is no such thing as instant gratification. It takes work on your part. You'll get there I promise! Day 1 in the books and the first step is always the biggest!

Unfortunately resetting your circadian rhythm doesnt happen over night brother our bodies get used to what we do and adapt.
Like i have been waking up at around 4am for the last ten years so regardless of what time i go to bed or what i do before bed, guess what this brother naturally wakes up at 4am.
Same as i automatically get tired around 8.30 as thats what time i go to bed mostly because thats my body clock. A few nights this week i have gone to bed super late and still woke up early without and alarm.

You have to keep trying and give this time. Try hop off your phone more like 30 minutes before bed and allow your mind to settle not a couple of minutes to settle lol.
Good luck bro

Awesome workout despite the poor sleep. Good numbers on bench particularly considering you'd already done incline dumbbell.

Not really, it makes eating impossible, it makes sleeping impossible. Gives you crackhead strength tho and if u haven’t slept for a day or 2 and are exhausted if u take a Vyvanse you will be wide awake all day. So I try to minimise my usage
maybe you need to consider getting off the drug? @Eheoew

My apologies, will be continuing this routine every night. Last night when I was trying to sleep I remembered someone saying that laying in bed trying to sleep is better then being on phone as body is still resting, so I will keep doing this routine.

maybe you need to consider getting off the drug? @Eheoew
Yea I would if I wasn’t studying but studying without them is just about impossible for me and I also can’t complete stuff and lose all short and long term goals. Once I complete my studies I will get off them.

Yep that was me. Someone told me that when I was having the same troubles as you in my younger years. Even though you're not actually sleeping its still rest and recovery. The thing is just laying there trying to sleep and struggling will eventually lead to sleep. Getting up and doing anything, especially something that involves light, resets the whole process again.

It will come bro. You're body is just craving and learning a schedule. Sleep is all about consistency.

Sleeping til 11:30am isn't going to help bro. Yes you need your sleep but it's only further throwing your body out of sync. I think you need to bite the bullet for a night or two and just wake up at your predetermined time in morning no matter what. It will make falling asleep the next night that much easier. Choose a day where you don't have much to do and no studying on the card. A day where you don't need your brain as much. You can function on a couple hours of sleep if need be. You won't be at your best but it's easily doable.

Yea I couldn’t sleep all night until 5:45am and I passed out for a couple hours, slept through my alarms which were set for 6:30. Same as last night except I won’t be sleeping in today

I did some reading about that vyvance stuff and it's basically Adderall which is amphetamines. That's definitely messing with your sleep bro.

Are you taking it first thing when you wake up? You need to keep your dosing as far away from your sleep as possible. It's long acting amphetamine so taking it right away in the morning will not effect its ability to help you study.

How bad is your ADHD? Do you absolutely feel you cannot function without it. I understand a lot of college students use it to give them an edge vs actually needing it. Which classification do you really feel you fall under?

I grew up in the Ritalin age and that wasn't great for people. Know a lot of guys that turned out to be pretty heavy drug users cuz of getting on Ritalin at a young age. I've seen first hand what long term methamphetamine does to people and it's bad. I hope Adderall and Vyvance are different.

Yea I take it as soon as I wake up which is why I’ve got my alarms set at 6:30am. I would say my ADHD is quite bad, I’m on the strongest adhd medication and the highest dose of that adhd med. I don’t just take it for an edge on study, it helps with my whole life e.g. decision making, helps me keep long term and short term goals, focus and just about everything in my life except sleep and eating which it completely fucks. That’s why I’ve decided to only take it on days I absolutely need to for study and I’ve been working on everything else like decision making and keeping long term and short term goals which this log has helped heaps with. Vyvanse also seem to slow my brain down in a good way, instead of a trillion things going on at once in my head It’ll reduce that dramatically and it also helps me think before saying or doing things.

Decided to go for a run the other day and about a quarter way through my run started getting shin pain which just got worse and worse throughout the run. Today my shins hurting when I’m putting any pressure on it so instead of hitting legs today I’ll have a rest day. Works out good cus all the sleep I’ve been missing recently has caught up to me today and I’m exhausted and struggling to keeps eyes open. Sleep mask a has arrived so I reckon tonight I’ll be getting real good sleep and getting back to training tomorrow

Damn I was hoping this wasn't the case for you. Sounds like there's no way to function without it. What a catch 22 your stuck in.

Stick with the schedule and let's hope that sorting out a circadian rhythm for you body will be enough to overcome the Vyvance. I did read that it is possible to sleep on it if you take it first thng so there's definitely hope bro!

ADHD runs in my family too. I definitely have a bit of it but no where near your level. I do completely get where you're coming from though cuz every you described can happen to me just to a much lesser degree.

Was sleep good before the Vyvance or have you been on it for so long it's hard to tell?

Nah sleep has always been horrible for me even at birth my parents would struggle putting me to sleep and I wouldn’t sleep for days at a time. However I have had good sleep for extended period of time, was when I was working as an electrician I would mentally and physically drain myself all day and when I got home I got perfect 9-10 hour sleep every single night.

Also my sleep last night felt fuckin amazing it probably helped that I was already exhausted, but I’m sure the sleep mask helped so much. I fell asleep around 9:40pm and woke up in the middle of the night and was up for around 30-40 mins before falling back to sleep and waking up at 6:30 this morning for Tafe.

Magnesium, zinc, valerian. Also use a sleep mask which helps so much as I realised I struggle to keep my eyes close when trying to sleep.
thats perfect stack, you need to get some melatonin too

Yea fuck I’ve been meaning to get melatonin but keep forgetting. I’ll see if I can run to the chemist today
I think you need script in AU for it

Unsure why my sleep was so bad last night, was in bed at 9:00 and took my about 2 or so hours to get to sleep and I woke up at 5:45 in the morning still extremely tired but whoop says I only slept for 4 hours. Workout was real good but I need to focus on slowing down and controlling it. Ran out of anavar so that’s out of my cycle now. I have another psychiatrist appointment on the 17th so when I’m there I’ll get him to write the letter for cbd prescription and to write me a prescription for melatonin, I’ll also ask him to take me off Vyvanse.

You trained hard on low rest but get that melatonin script sorted and dropping Vyvanse will help your nights a lot moving forward.
I know you can't drop Vyvanse due to study but maybe lower dose?

Nah I’ll get off Vyvanse completely, if I can’t study so be it I’ll just have to figure out another way

Wasn’t able to sleep last night and have been extremely fucked all day and passed out for about an hour at 9am, some good news though I’ve just seen my psychiatrist and he’s cancelling my Vyvanse writing me the letter I needed for cbd and he’s sent me prescription for melatonin

Had really good fucking sleep last night and I feel amazing today. Workout was real good had heaps of energy for it. Shoulder has some pain when doing exercises so I’ve added in some rotator cuff exercises at the end of the workout.

Nothing better than a nice workout after a nice sleep. That's definitely what we like. It keeps you strong and keeps your mind where it needs to be. @Eheoew

Had really good sleep last night, still really tired today but so much better than yesterday. Went and did my bloods today aswell so should have the results within 24-48 hours. I switched close grip lat pulldowns to the plate loaded lat puldown and I feel much much stronger with it
