My second Cane Corso - Bella

texas.redneck

V.I.P.
EVO Logger
My first Corso, Roxy, passed away unexpectedly in April. So we got Bella when she was 12 weeks old. She’s about six months old in these pics and maybe 60lbs. She is trained up really well. I can walk her off leash and she’s not reactive to other dogs.

Yeah hit me pretty hard because she was really my dog. I got her when I still lived alone and she stuck to me like glue. Bella is ok but I'm remarried now so she's more family dog, like more balanced between me and my wife. Also, it was unexpected. Like in about 6-8 weeks from her first having some symptoms of not eating all her food she died with tumors in her intestines. And she was only 7.5 years so wasn't expecting anything like that for at least another 2 years.

he looks like a good looking dog. what is their purpose in breeding? for hunting?

they say losing a pet is as tough as losing a spouse. i believe it. one of the things they told me when i went to adopt another one was its the way it throws off your day. you get used to taking the dog for a walk, feeding it, taking care of it, etc. and when that is gone it becomes tough mentally

I believe currently they are sold as personal protection and property protection. They are also known as Italian Mastiffs and the legend behind them is they were the dogs used by roman soldiers. My last one was a big baby around most humans unless we are out on a walk.

That is a nice looking dog. Sounds like it's trained really well.
