New Guy Intro (but probably not the background you'd expect!)

First off... Man I've learned so much in just a short period of time on Evo. Thanks in advance.

A little background:
41 Y/O M
5'10"
175 lbs
@17% b/f

Spent most of my life as an endurance athlete (@160 lbs). 2 yrs ago the wheels fell off. I've felt like total crap since then. Countless visits to my MD to no avail. My chiropractor finally got me thinking outside the box. We ran some blood work and the only things that popped were Vitamin D at 28 ng/mL and Testosterone at 319. Tried fixing Vit D first and that hasn't worked. I'm at 109 Ng/mL and still no better. Backing the D3 down some. So now I'm focused on the Test level. Only problem is that I'm 41 and have no idea what my baseline Test levels have been my entire life. So I question could a Test of 319 make me feel this crappy? I mean all my joints area killing me but it feels like either all my muscles or connective tissue are really tight. I used to be really flexible but now I'm very limited in my range of motion.
Even as an endurance athlete I've always been in the gym though. Kind of an oddball. I've always done deads, back squatted, pullups, pushups, jumped rope. I've never run gear and don't have any future plans to except I'll do what's necessary to regain my quality of life, mobility and fitness level. Maybe I'm a prime candidate for TRT at 41 Y/O but I want to exhaust all other possibilities first.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Welcome to EVO. I would recommend trying some natural methods to boosting your test levels before resorting to TRT. There are a lot of great options out there in test boosting products from N2BM

well you said it yourself.. you let the feels fall off.. so many guys are in your shoes at your age, I would encourage you to get back into shape and you will feel better.. your body doesn't produce a lot of testosterone because it doesn't have to.. but if you are working out, eating right, and leading an active lifestyle then it will.

I was an endurance athlete for years in my 20's so you aren't the only one with that background btw. its hard to stop it and then not gain a shit ton of weight because of you were so used to such high calories everyday, its almost like you have to slowly ease off of it and slowly ease off of your calories.

Welcome bro

Welcome to Evo !
Sounds like you need a New Set of Wheels (lol)
No Worries, I've been through a Few myself........................ JP
P.S.
Like "Stevesmi" said, look to Good Quality, Non-Processed Food for a Start.
You'll be Amazed what a High Quality Diet can do, especially to Raise your Test.
P.S.S.
Here's a List to get you Started, I would just Add, with Eggs, go Organic !

Congrats on deciding to fight back and regain your health. Alot has been covered already, but the joint pain got me wondering about your estrogen level. Was that included in your bloods. Just a thought, but I am also a firm beleiver in fixing things naturally first off, and be prepared for some tough days, but it is all worth. Solid periodized training routines, changing up every 12 weeks, and a diet you treat like a science experiment, constantly refining using the scale and the mirror. It's the fountain of youth...

Welcome to the board family and I k ow it sounds like an echo but diet and excercise can change a lot. Take heed to the knowledge here its irreplaceable.

Hey bro, welcome to Evo! Did this happen somewhat suddenly? I had a friend who had the same type symptoms, aching joints and really tight feeling muscles/tendons. He tried a bunch of diff stuff to no avail, Turns out he had Lymes disease that he got from a tick bite. A test from his Dr confirmed it. Not sure if this could be a possibility for you, but it could be worth having a test done to make sure. Hope everything works out for you bro.

Actually this did happen rather sudden. I was right in the middle of training for the Florida Double Anvil (2 x's the distance of an Ironman) when I started having L knee pain and really tight Achilles bilaterally. Thought I just needed to ease of a little so I did and that's when the wheels fell off. It was never a conscience decision to stop training. My body just shut it down for me. I'm definitely going to look into Lyme Disease, if for nothing else but to just rule it out.
Thanks!

Thanks for your reply. I agree with everything you've said and think it's spot on. But I don't think that it applies in my case. I know I didn't really go into detail about myself and my current situation. I didn't want to jump on this forum and come off as a whiner. I've felt like total crap ever since things went downhill during my endurance training. But even back then I was still in the gym not wanting to lose too much muscle. My diet has always been good and even as bad as I feel I'm still in the gym at least 4 days a week now. But now the gym consists of 15 minutes of moderate cardio on the elliptical or bike to warm up and get a sweat going. Then I need to stretch for about 40 minutes just to be loose enough to move in the gym. After all that I can hit the weights but I've had to decrease things dramatically, (ie. squatting 135#, deadlifting 185#) not because I can't push more but because I feel like I'm going to tear something.

I'm sure I made some bad decisions on overtraining and maybe even not getting enough calories and I'll own that if that's what put me where I am. But after almost 2 yrs of fighting this and hoping and thinking positive that I'll get back...it hasn't happened.

So I just had more blood work come back and now my testosterone is down to 261. So far that's the only number that has comeback bad. As far as normal blood work for my annual physicals my numbers have always been way good and those still are.

Im racking my brain to fix this. So I'm curous if you think that this all could be from low testosterone??? I cant't seem to find anything else wrong.

Thanks for any input. I really appreciate it.

It happens......TO me it was in my mid 30's. But I abused PED in my 20's from time to time.......There is a reason pro athletes wind it down in mid 30's and or experiment with PED late in there career......I do think TRT is viable from what I read of your post.......I had so many aches and pains in my mid 30's as there were days I just wanted to get through the day and as my test went up from 400 to 800 with TRT everything in my life improved. Some of the peptieds such as GHRP 2 and sermorelin peptide were a godsend to help me sleep.....Good sleep changes peoples lives for sure.......For an athlete it is def more devastating then the non athlete.....I would bring everything up to PAR with test levels and bloodwork before putting pedal to the medal again......I however did not do that and you pay for it later down the road.......Menatlly is was a huge challenge....Good luck to you bro.....

Yes you have low Testosterone!!!! The range for years that says men should be around 300 to 800 is BS. There are a bunch of studies that blow that out of the water. New studies show that being in the range of 500 and up are much better for you overall health. The best advice will be to find a TRT specialist. Take some time and find the right doctor. It’s important to get the right TRT treatment. Most Doctors don’t know what they are doing………………..
