is this bread ok to consume while following a weight loss diet? I thought about including it in my diet since olive oil is healthy, I wonder if olive oil bread is as healthy as the actual oil, thank you.

If your serious about hitting your weight loss goal I would avoid bread all together it's a dirty carb and empty calories, Yes olive oil is monounsaturated fats (good fats) but at the end of the day it's not just the fats in bread that make it something to avoid.. Stay away!!!

All olive oil bread is is white bread with some olive oil brushed on top. It's kind of like a fancy italian bread. It's still bread and still has a very high glycemic index.

I mean, having a slice of bread once a week on your cheat day - it's not going to kill you.

However, for optimal fat loss, bread isn't something you want to incorporate in your regular diet. Bread had a very high GI index.

The key when choosing carbohydrates is to choose low GI carbohydrates. Those will raise blood sugar the slowest.

For example, white rice has a much higher GI index and will raise blood sugar much faster then brown rice. White rice has the hull of the rice bran removed which makes it digest much faster. Brown rice is unprocessed and contains the whole rice grain. Brown rice contains more fibre and is slower digesting and will raise blood sugar much slower as a result.

The best carbohydrates to base your diet around are brown rice, oatmeal, quinoa, and sweet potato. Along with fruits and vegetables of course.

That is like drinking Diet Coke while being on diet - just because it says on the label diet does not mean that it is any better than the ordinary coke for diet. The same applies here - it is just the same with the olive oil bread. They might add a bit of olive oil there, but it is still bread with all of its inherent issues. If you want the benefits of olive oil, either get yourself some fish oil, or just pour a bit of olive oil into your salat.

this myth that olive oil is the best thing ever is bs

first off the olive oil you buy legally doesn't even have to have more than a certain % of olive oil. so you are consuming something else and a little actual olive oil.

2nd even real olive oil has a whopping 120 calories per tbs!! to give you an idea of how much it is a male will burn 400-500 calories in a very intense 1 hour workout. that will be wiped out with just 3 tbs's of olive oil!

and we are not even going to talk about how many calories are in bread but it is insanely high

so no if you are trying to lose weight AVOID!! you can only have that on a cheat day

I would not have it as a staple of my diet. As a cheat meal, no problem but as a regular part of your diet, no way. It will just be too many empty calories and you will lack proper nutrition.
