I'm on the road a lot so am a big fan of powders where I can to squeeze in my protein goals. Even just adding to smoothies, yoghurt bowls etc.
I would say if you can get most if not all protein from wholefoods it would be better in the long run.
I use Bulk Nutrients WPI which is $2.06 per service. Their WPC is $1.48 per service. Cheapest on the market I've found in Oz.
