Protein timing

Should I be careful when to drink my protein shakes? I have been drinking them with meals and my buddy told me I can only digest so much protein before it goes to waste.
 
You are over thinking things man. The body absorbs everything you consume. Remember big picture with all this stuff.

Whey protein supplements are very fast digesting so even if you combine it with other protein sources, all the protein sources will digest at different rates
 
your buddy is right. pro bodybuilders abuse insulin, hgh, drugs, steroids, and have top 1% genetics and are able to take advantage of all the food they consume. you are not in their boat.

so this obsession by people to 'time protein' or get in 400g a day is absurd. you only need .6g of protein per pound. you don't need any more. when you follow these stupid bodybuilder diets i see parroted you will just end up getting fat and wreck your stomach
 
So if you cant absorb everything then when you eat a whole pizza you wont get fat right?........because your body cant digest all that fat. See why it makes no sense. You will absolutely digest all the protein you eat. Do you need a lot though......not nearly as much as people say.
