Wrong Expectations?

Hey guys this is my first post so please forgive me if it's a bit clumsy.

So, I did my first cycle 6 months ago and it was 250mg Sustanon per week for 10 weeks. Given that I've been powerlifting for 6 years and the gains are slow to come I thought that this cycle would help me to break some plateaus but my results after the cycle and post-pct were a bit underwhelming.
I went from 75kg to 80kg with noticeable fat gains (on a not so clean bulk). My squat stayed the same, my bench went up 10kgs and my deadlift went up 2.5kg.
My pressing strength always go up when I bulk up so I wasn't that impressed. My training felt the same and I got sore with hard sessions as usual. Finally I didn't experience any sides whatsoever.

Honestly I thought my gear was bunk but the lab seems to be legit according to some bodybuilder friends so I decided to run a second cycle with the same lab, this time I'm doing 400mg Test-E per week and 50mg Proviron daily. I've been on it for 4 weeks and so far not so good everything feels the same, haven't got any sides and I haven't gained weight either (on a slight calorie surplus)

My question is: Do I have the wrong expectations about what gear can do for me?/Am I just being impatient?
Were the dosage/compounds mistaken? Or could it be that my gear is bunk or underdosed?

Cheers.

I think the sust cycle would have been pretty week but you should be noticing something in week four of a 400mg cycle with the proviron your 5kg gain isnt that bad even if it wasnt super clean but you should have strength gains though I heard lower body strength gains are usually less that upper on the gear. My upper body strength is through the roof on T500 and Deca 200 same with dead lifts but my squats are still tentative.

Ive had clean gains of about 5kgs a decent strength on 300 enanthate in the past also

Anyway others will chime in im sure but thats my experience

Thanks guys my bad, I’ve omitted that crucial step and have only relied on guesswork.

Should I test something else besides t-levels, like health panels, lipids, etc?

What was your first cycle? Anytime I've ever used my numbers went up more than that on a low dose.

T/free T/Estrogen are the basics to see if your gear is bunk or not but there are a variety but if you do a quick search of the forum you'll see others who posted theirs.

You ran barely over TRT levels for a cycle, so you cant expect a lot from that. It's not worth shutting yourself down on 250mg per week. I'd run at least 350 to make it worthwhile. I know you're on 400 now, but it's only been 4 weeks. Thwts usually when you START noticing things

Thanks, will do.

I've only done two. My first one was Test Sust at 250mg per week for 10 weeks. The one I'm currently (4 weeks) on is Test E at 400mg per week total pinned Monday and Thursday, and 50mg Proviron daily.

Thanks I was thinking that would probably be the case. I read a lot about 500mg pw being too much for a first cycle so I decided to play it conservatively. Now I will just be patient and wait to see what happens at the higher dose then.

Sounds good man. I understand the first cycle because you didnt run much. Thus cycle just needs a bit more time. Make sure you are eating right and training right. The gear itself wont do much of anything without those on point

many guys quit on steroids and the gym cause they have unrealistic expections of what steroids do

just like those boneheads you see on sports forums who rag on pro athletes who get busted for steroids because yeah you can stick your ass with steroids and hit 100 home runs just like magic

many guys quit on steroids and the gym cause they have unrealistic expections of what steroids do...

Most men in the gym think they all can look a certain way if they juiced, too. Oh, that guy only looks like that because he uses gear. Indeed, that’s true, but it’s also only 50% of the story. It still takes hard work and dedication in many facets, diet, training, routine and tons of patients.

This is the long game we’re playing. A lifestyle

The vast majority of gym users do indeed expect too much of steroids and other PEDs. We ALL have buddies who we know are bordering on being 'pin happy'. Often they are using gram doses, never come off and use drugs to make up for slack diets and piss poor training. I can think of one local lad who I've NEVER seen work legs. The gym owner I've mentioned before (actually off and being sensible right now) has, if you believe everything he says he's done, been on multiple ml's per week.

Then you've our local pro. Like Lee Priest when he's posted what he was doing few, if any believed him. Both these two actually have decent (the owner) to good genetics (the pro). When they compete their diets are tip fkin top and spot on. The gym owner, when in comp training mode, doesn't f**k about.

The issue is, as it is all too often, is that other gym goers only see one part of the bigger picture. Even Evo, because we rarely talk about training and fully about nutrition (both get asked about more on the sister site Elite and even then only a little more) can create the impression that steroids are the ONLY reason you added muscle.

Try taking steroids, not training and eating shit and see how that goes. Or... learn to train your ass off, be at least 90% on point with the diet and THEN add in low to medium doses of gear... now you're cooking! I wanna hope and think with advice from both mods and regular members you'll fall into the latter not the former. Go get it!!
