Hey everybody, I’m starting this second log a little early. I want to have a good plan lined out for putting on some real mass. I’m not in a big hurry to do it, I want to stay healthy and avoid injury while adding mostly muscle and gaining strength over fall and winter and I hope to hold onto it through 2026 summer, which will be the biggest challenge. I don’t need to be dick skin lean, 10% ish would be great. I’ve never not had a flat stomach and visible abs and as long as that stays the same the bulk will continue!

I’m currently 185 pounds at 5’11”, but at the best of my last log I was 180 and almost as lean as I’ve ever been with that much muscle.

My job is strenuous and can be very catabolic with the constant work, sometimes a lot of steps, running, climbing, pulling, and sometimes missed meals.

I’m also an avid waterskier and practice and competitions get in the way of weight training at the height of summer, and that is 100% worth it to me.

I don’t have a cycle planned out as of yet but Test E, Deca, and Primo are what I’m looking to run.
Maybe 300/100/200 and AI if I need it, but hopefully not.

I have been using mk677 and I like it so far, I plan to use it in this cycle to keep me eating consistently high calories and really high protein.

From my recent logs, I probably need at least 5000 calories a day and at least 400 grams of protein to grow, but I was hitting that almost every single day while logging and I really wasn’t eating much different than I always do and I was still not budging the scale, so I’m going to look back through my log thoroughly and chart the numbers to make my plan.

HCgenerate possibly, and N2Guard definitely.

thoughts from previous cycle


-Milk thistle, NAC, TUDCA seemed to have minimal effect. Replace with N2Guard


-Injectable glutathione vial was a year old, but not reconstituted. Still had out of range ALT/AST after using the whole vial. Replace with N2Guard


-probiotics, I can’t tell the difference when I take them or not. If I’m not having issues, I’m not going to take them.

-digestive enzymes, I can’t tell the difference when I take them. Haven’t had digestive issues when I eat clean. Even over 6000 calories. Will discontinue

-psyllium husk. Seems useful. If I take a double dose before bed, my morning deuce is one and done. Will continue

-nattokinase. Will continue

-cod liver oil. HDL has been decently in range. Will continue

-fadogia agrestis. Seems to keep balls bigger, but that’s about it. Didn’t affect me mentally or affect performance. Unlike hcg. Will keep hcgenerate on hand if I don’t like how things are going

a lot of guys on here have labor intensive jobs. you can view it as a negative and it can be. you are tearing up your soft tissues and joints. or you can view it as a blessing since you are in cal burning mode vs. a desk job @toddthelineman

I love my work. I try to do it more carefully than I did in my twenties so that it’s not tearing me up too bad. I sincerely believe that it’s the lifestyle of MOST hard laborers that tears them up much more than the work itself, but the combination is a real double whammy. Almost every single heavy construction type worker I ever met eats really really bad, like the worst diet. Fast food everyday. Processed food at home if they’re lucky enough for their wife to make them dinner, it’s not fresh single ingredient food, it’s sides in a box, stuff like that. Most of them smoke and drink. The inflammation in that lifestyle is sky high and the heart disease rates reflect that. Inflammation degrades cartilage, but a huge number of dudes don’t even make it in the trades past 50-55. Their backs give out, knees or shoulders and they call it quits from the chronic pain before they have acute injuries like I did.

In the flip side of that, one thing I noticed a long time ago… no rest days. I was always confused that we were working soooo hard and I got quite a bit bigger really fast but then it just stopped. And I didn’t get any bigger no matter what. Well. It makes sense now. The only time I ever grew was when I had a lot of time off, or a project that was more machine oriented, or my little stay in jail when I grew like I got a second puberty and it was just from the rest.

I haven’t been on what I’d call a cycle in two years, which would have been 250 test + either Winstrol or anavar 25mg or 10mg respectively and 2-4 iu of gh.

I had played around with higher test doses but the estrogen issues became very real so I always chickened out and I had had some random ugl AIs and SERMs that I didn’t trust.

I have sprinkled in things like mast, primo, different esters, but always just testing things out to see what they do, and what it’s like and more than anything always making sure I had more than one vendor that was currently on the up and up. Most of the experimenting was early on, the last two years was just sports trt + or whatever. I took more than trt and I was focused on work as it was two summers ago that my business took off and I quit my jobby job.

I took 210 mg/wk right up until… June I’d say without check the log, then I dropped it down and settled at 135 mg/ week, with serostim for almost a month, and then mk677. So those are my two things right now. 135 mg test, and 12.5 mg of mk677. I also have the cardarine, but I’m not really feeling it, I had used cardarine about five years ago and remember it being VERY noticeable within an hour. Not too sure I’m getting that effect or what’s different now but I’m not just going to take it for no reason.

I drink like twice a year maaaaybe and I don’t get drunk. I used to only drink if I was with a girl who drinks and we were definitely going to smash but now I don’t even call those girls sooo yeah, i really don’t drink.

I do think it almost has to be the kratom, but I lowered my dose to like 1/10 of what I was taking for my first blood test, held it there for weeks, got another blood test, and the ast/alt didn’t go down much at all. What I’ve been taking is literally the same bag. I have read that some people have a hepatotoxic reaction to kratom, and of course, anything can be adulterated although I believe mine is well sourced.

You can have elevated levels from working out, breaking muscle down. It is possible that is a factor. Throughout those two blood tests, I was eating a lot. Like almost as much as Dorian Yates said he ate in a video I watched today. 4-6 thousand calories. And I’m working with a small suitcase full of supplements. So like, idk man. It’s a lot to process.

I like that supplement stack. :D @toddthelineman but add NAC to the n2guard, so you're stacked deep for organ support, just space out 1 hour the doses.

I will do that. I’m curious about the spacing. Is it just a stomach thing, or is something counter acting, or maybe just a better effect than all at once?

NAC won't allow absorption of other nutrients, even other liver support, that's why n2guard kept TUDCA and 40 other ingredients and removed NAC. @toddthelineman

I'd focus on lean gains over a bulk as such for most

When I owned rental property i would save money doing almost all my own maintenance. Laying carpet. Painting. Fixing ceiling fans. Etc. it was majorly interfering with my triathlon training so I got out of that industry

So it's probably the kratom or possibly something in that suitcase. Hopefully the liver supoort will clear things up for you.

that is very crazy that you eat THAT much and not growing the way you want. seems like you have a super fast metabolism and you burn so much at work @toddthelineman

Yeah I always did eat a lot. I’ve seen lots of skinny guys say they eat a lot but usually they eat a lot very intermittently. That’s not me, I used to go to a steak house every night and eat two full meals. When I was a kid I worked in restaurants and if they wouldn’t let me eat as I needed to I told them I’d just quit, but I never had to. They allowed I’ve won bets from friends claiming I couldn’t eat a whole sub from their favorite place or a whole pizza. I never saw a whole pizza I couldn’t eat.
 
@toddthelineman Going to be following this one as I plan to do a growing phase in a few months. I like the supplement list as I removed a lot like you with using N2Gaurd. Seeing @LevButlerov post about NAC, I think I am going to add that one as well.
Yeah I just finished a bottle of NAC and I’d been taking it with both my morning and evening supplements… for a month. The entire time I was trying to correct my alt/ast. I wish I had known that. That definitely confounds my experiment. All I found online on the subject was that it binds to toxins in the liver and removes them, it’s used medically for acetaminophen poisoning, so it’s very powerful. I didn’t see any literature about it binding to other things but why wouldn’t it? Idk

Wow that’s wild. When I had high liver enzymes years ago from taking orals, I used injectable glutathione and it worked great. I tried it again recently and it didn’t do the trick. It might be that my vial was old and even though it wasn’t reconstituted it had been through quite a few heat cycles and it wasn’t reconstituted maybe two years old.

I’m currently 185 pounds at 5’11”, but at the best of my last log I was 180 and almost as lean as I’ve ever been with that much muscle.

My job is strenuous and can be very catabolic with the constant work, sometimes a lot of steps, running, climbing, pulling, and sometimes missed meals.

I’m also an avid waterskier and practice and competitions get in the way of weight training at the height of summer, and that is 100% worth it to me.

I don’t have a cycle planned out as of yet but Test E, Deca, and Primo are what I’m looking to run.
Maybe 300/100/200 and AI if I need it, but hopefully not.

I have been using mk677 and I like it so far, I plan to use it in this cycle to keep me eating consistently high calories and really high protein.

From my recent logs, I probably need at least 5000 calories a day and at least 400 grams of protein to grow, but I was hitting that almost every single day while logging and I really wasn’t eating much different than I always do and I was still not budging the scale, so I’m going to look back through my log thoroughly and chart the numbers to make my plan.

I wonder what the move would be. 100mg/week, ten weeks, 200 for five weeks? Early in the cycle or at the end? If I ever did it I would want to get the most out of it. I’d need work and everything else to align properly so I can train really good
 
I’m officially starting this log 8/5/25.

I’ve got waaaaay too much happening before that, with a new market at work and I took in an ex gfs son. He’s a troubled kid that just turned 18 and I’ve been telling his mom he’s lineman material since he was 10. So he’s my problem now hahaha. Gonna have him eating and lifting and working and with luck, out of jail. I’m also competing in and hosting a waterski tournament, so that’s going to take up all of my time and I’ll need days to recover from that.

I’m going to schedule bloodwork sometime near the beginning of the log, and I’m contemplating a fast after my tournament but before the blood work. @stevesmi any thoughts on this? I’ve done some short fasts but mostly not intentionally. I can handle it ok, maybe 40 hours🤷‍♂️

I’m really still planning. I’m probably going to just eat the same things every week with a little variety between days.

Yes, hopefully! To be honest every time ever tried dirty bulking it mostly went to muscle. When I went to jail for getting pulled over with a suitcase full of weed I spent 100 days total in jail eating that food.

My main protein was baloney and I traded junk food like cake as I could for it. Powdered eggs, grits, and an orange that tasted like wet cardboard was the typical breakfast, and from commissary I had a tortilla, a spicy sausage, a huge pickle, and some spicy cheese spread and ramen noodles that I made a burrito out of every night after running up and down the stairs for an hour. I did that every single evening from day one, and I went to the workout room every single morning and alternated pushups, dips, pull-ups, sit-ups, jog around the room from the time they took us there until they came and got us. Usually an hour, but sometimes they’d leave us for half a day.

Only me and one other guy went every single day. He was a kickboxer in Mexico and grew up picking Avocado trees. Fit kid. We pushed each other. Then I’d bet on arm wrestling and Tyson squats to win food. I ate as much as I could, I gained a shocking amount of weight in that short time and still had abs went I got home.

You haven’t had to buy new clothes? When I got 195 I didn’t have anything I could wear. Sweat pants and I was busting out of medium t shirts lol. Looked ridiculous

I’ve thought about it! Must people spend huge amount of money on hunting, hahaha. I could hang a gill net off my dock, trap some geese and ducks, and rabbit. All right out of my yard, it would be really easy but I’m sure someone would tell on me. If I had to actually go on trips and get a proper hunting rifle and every other thing I’d have to get a lot of deer to offset the spending. I know a guy, second Gen butcher. He processed almost all the deer in a three country area of rural Indiana and has for decades. There’s more deer than people there and hunters come from very far away to get the big ones. He gets at least hundreds of pounds of free meat every year.

That’s awesome dude. I feel like you almost need to be raised in that culture or else it’s hard to break into the lifestyle. Some people are really good at hunting without much investment. Some people know how to use dogs, and have raised amazing hunting dogs that are literally not pets at all. My dad is an avid hunter, he would take me, and I was mostly annoyed. I really wanted to do it when I was much younger, but it never happened. Then I was grown, working outside year round, not super interested in freezing my ass off for fun.

Yes sir, one of the best wild game I have eaten. I typically only have wild game in my freezer but didn’t hunt last year

Isn't Dall sheep literally the most prized animal of them all for hunters? Tags are super rare, like winning the lottery rare. Then to actually get one requires mountain hiking in extreme cold? Big mountain hiking, basically climbing, in places like Alaska. Am I getting that right?

I know for sure it was some kinda sheep and to get one you need to be a super lucky athlete basically lol. Looked seriously badass when I watched a show about it.

lol. I’m an avid hunter/outdoorsman. Sheep hunting is one of the toughest (physically and mentally) there is. Mounrain goat might be a tad harder just because they are higher and in more dangerous parts of the mountains.

In North American there are 4 sub species of sheep. Rocky Mountain Bighorn, desert bighorn, Dall and stone.

I’ve made some good briskets and I’ve ruined even more. This one was good enough. The catfish was pretty good! I think we can catch these pretty reliably, so I’ll throw them back if it’s not bigger. That was not a large meal for two of us.

And it got me thinking… I might be able to get away with digging a pond to keep them alive for a while, or even something like a tide pool that fish might swim into, but not out. Could be good for bait fish too. If the other wild things don’t get to it…

If a heron or racoon shows up to take your fish it will spray them good. I made a ghetto cover out of EMT conduit and that plastic construction temporary fencing.

A tide pool might work, or you could dig a deep pond. Catfish are bottom feeders so they like cooler water. A shallow pond would probably get too hot for them. If you go for a pond you'll also want to think about aeration and a way to keep the algae down.

I'm usually training in my basement when the door to door people show up. I like seeing the reactions on camera when my dogs run up too the door on them lol.

I'm not worried about cameras outside cuz I probably wouldn't do anything to anyone out there. If someone came inside my house...I wouldn't want that on camera. We don't have castle laws up here tho. We need to respond with "equal" force if someone breaks into your house...what a joke. Who's to say what's equal if nothing is on camera though right. Where people mess up out here is chasing people outside the house. Then you end up in jail for protecting your family and property
 
how does that fish taste? it honestly looks like one of those non native species to me. we have similar looking fish here but they are from south america called armored catfish @toddthelineman they love the spring rivers and are quite plentiful. i'm sure the gators enjoy their white flesh

Man it was the best catfish I’ve ever had. I’ve never eaten a catfish that was caught fresh. Just bluegill, which I like.

Man it was the best catfish I’ve ever had. I’ve never eaten a catfish that was caught fresh. Just bluegill, which I like.

i'm not familiar with fish in your neck of the woods. we have freshwater and saltwater catfish. salt water cats are considered junk fish but some people do eat them. there are atleast 2-3 kinds. i always throw them back, they are dangerous with their spines and are toxic. a lot of dumb tourists will grab them and learn the hard way. watched a guy one time have a spine go right though his palm to the other side

I’m trying to learn. It looks like blue cats aren’t native to the rock river, but they are definitely nearby in the Mississippi.

The Mississippi, where my river drains into, has those jumping Asian carp that are a massive problem. If my river gets those it will be the end of an era. You can’t really do recreational boating or skiing because they’ll hit you in the face and people have died from it.

They are introducing blue cats to areas infested with Asian carp because a blue cat is capable of eating an adult one. So that’s awesome!

So maybe a blue cat, but more likely a channel cat, with the best way to distinguish being the number of spines on the anal fin.

We’re going to start throwing back the small ones. An old friend donated us a small fishing boat and like five junk motors lol.

There are numerous fishing and survival cat fishing tournaments here yearly.

If you go downtown you can see the homeless people literally feast on fish. They make little fires under the bridges. There’s tons of carp, they eat it. When the floods come, most years, my yard will have hundreds of carp feasting on all the bugs, you could wade into it with a spear and probably fill a chest freezer in a day. Idk how good it is but the homeless people definitely eating it hahaha. We got some pretty sturdy bums up here😆

Fresh water cats have toxic spines as well. The pectoral fins have those spines and they can get you pretty good if you're not careful. I got stuck my one when I was a kid when I was trying to grab it out of my net. Never did that again

yeah they are amazing fish. i used to have one in my aquarium. they are the vacuum cleaners of the water

bros back home in Bama we gots catfish in lakes. we used to catch them with liver with cane poles growing up. we also used cut crab to catch them @toddthelineman
 
I thought the same until my bro smoked a whole turkey and man smoking is where it's at
I'd love to eat a smoked turkey now :D
