Veteran Log First Testosterone Cycle and Beginner Training Log

I did a quasi carnivore diet for my 16-week blast but with that you have to make sure your supps are in check, especially Vitamin C. It works like magic for me.

Yeah bro I agree, what are your thoughts on the vitamin c thing? I haven't quite collected my thoughts on all this because I've done both ends of extreme diets (not thar carnivore is extreme like veganism but you know what I mean) and o think we are opportunities omnivores which is great for survival I guess but since agriculture and especially since factory farming and food companies exploiting war rashion rules to push cardboard we have trained outselves to adapt to this fucked up diet.

Theres soo much salt in processed food that salt itself has become a yardstick to measure how bad food. When you start on meat only and have removed the salt you were getting from the factory your body screams out for it. I figured out "salt to taste" is not just a random phrase it means add salt till you don't want to anymore because it's like thirst, but for salt.. it's how your body gets the amount of salt it needs.

And with carbs they're sticking the shit in us on day 3 when we should be sucking on tits still. You know well I'm sure just how much our bodies can adapt to poor decisions and input. We can limp on for years suboptimal states and in veganism they celebrate the body breaking down in a repackaged form to make it look like the goal.

One group of lunatics I stumbled across on YouTube had all the girls losing their periods by month three and that was awesome, you're on the path. These were girls and they also guilt trapped their cuck boyfriends into getting castrated to show dedication to global population reducing. Woman often want to loose weight and that comes quick for vegans and so it kinda looks like its working, and you can get these anorexic instagram shots and get more girls to join.

I think over our whole childhoods and adolescence and on we put all this shit in our bodies constantly over decades and decades and then our body adjusts as it does and then in science we use that as the baseline for "normal" when it's clearly fucking not.

And one of those things is we need huge amounts of Vitimin C compared to what's available and see in other animals but this never became a problem for carnivores. I'm sure you yourself have heard some say you're going to get survey from just eating meat? I had tons of times, I dunno where the logic even comes from. So when you're finely tuned to meat, over a year of meat only at thr very least your body gets all vitamin c it needs from meat even though by modern standards it looks like there's not enough. The Masai of Africa even got their water from it and only drank milk from the cows they carted around with them.

You know some 22 year olds in New Zealand atcually got scurvy? It made international medical journals as it's ultra rare. They were broke students and only ate chips from the fish and chip shop and it took 8 months to develop. Only one of three got it and that was because he didn't like tomato sauce and the other two were getting their vitamin c from there 🤣 always proud to see our great nation in the spotlight bucking trends.

That's why I disagree with Vince Gironda about carb cycling and think it's not the way for regular diet but atcually stops you breaking through by having your body fully restored to its natural state as a well oiled machine with the right oil. But we wouldn't be able to get swole eating like that and probably some other downsides for lifters too.

I mean we use drugs because they work and I just lump carbs in with drugs in my mind and am trying to use them stratergicly and manage tolerance and withdrawal just like I have to with other drugs. Living in harmony with nature and animals and being self sufficient can wait until chicks stop replying to me on Tinder 😀

Thanks Lev and you're right it really does change the vibe and I think that's why everyone was drawn to us, also to get a better look at Dave though haha.

We met back at the gym at 9am and Dave showed us some assisted rep techniques and it was hard-core. Probably the 2nd most hardcore session I've had after trying the Vince Gironda 8x8 method on the leg extension with my PT while I was natural. We are definitely going to make the most of it, Dave is down all week for prep week before his show on Saturday and I'm going to tag along and try learn as much as I can 😀
Sounds like an awesome chance to soak up knowledge, those assisted reps always hit different and push you past what you’d normally grind out. Training with Dave through his prep week is perfect timing, you’ll see the intensity first-hand and pick up little details you can’t get from just reading about it. Make the most of every session this week, that experience is gold. :D
Recovery is one area I am good at haha. Getting over hangovers and the consequences of 24/7 drug and alcohol use for decades in order to maintain a high stress corporate career taught me a few tricks I can pass on. You don't need to tell me twice to chill out on the couch. Hopefully I can get Dave to get some massage chair sets in before his show. I slept like a baby after we hit the half hour cycle last night 😀
That’s a strength on its own, knowing how to actually recover and let the body reset is what keeps the training and progress rolling. Massage chair sessions leading into show week will only help Dave too, circulation and relaxation go a long way. Sounds like you’ve got the recovery side dialed just as much as the training right now. @vanlife_gymbum

As for the vitamin C you're fine. The lower carb you go the less your body has a need for it because if you're close to keto with your carbs then since glucose and vitamin C have practically the same chemical structure you're body isn't asking for Vitamin C not unlike how it learns not to run on or expect glucose. Will you get scurvy? Not by eating muscle animal protein; muscle protein and veggies like kale, bell peppers and broccoli all has enough. I eat a ton of kale with 0 calorie dressing or just use vinegar and a shot of macadamia nut oil.

I was moreso remembering you saying you had an injury and Vitamin C is great for producing collagen in the tendons and ligaments.

A strange thing, I started out with zero salt, because that was what Vilhalmur Seffansin did, as well as The Bear. But aaaalll the big names today say you need it and electrolytes etc. I was fine with zero salt And my ability to taste… things went stratospheric. Like a blind person being able to see almost. I was fine until I started drinking coffee again. I was already microdosing kratom, like 1/4 tsp 3-5 times a day. Once I added coffee I got cramps so bad I thought my life might be in danger. Amazingly, I could cure them quickly with bone broth, but eventually I was back into salt. The first few times I used it it was terrible. The taste was so powerful and foreign. Like a poisonous chemical.

Yeah, I think about this a lot. You just gotta give this baby purée vegetables, which they hate, and then prunes so they can poop. They obviously need it. I know a kid whose mom made her own baby food from her garden. Kid almost died. He got backed up. Baby did is maximally processed and it has to be. Anyone who has been carnivore long term knows that people have a tolerance for carbs and plants. People have no idea his string that tolerance is. I’m sure berries and such have been eaten by humans when they are available seasonally and regionally from the very beginning. You don’t “need” them, but they can be perfectly good and helpful. Long term zero carb can actually cause some pretty insane effects on total T and SHBG. I suspect this may have happened to me. I wish I had done better testing.

Yes, remember ask the click bait “sugar acts like cocaine in the brain” type of headlines? Well. I think, I’m sure, it’s backwards. Drugs did their drug thing by acting on the same receptors as food, but multiplied in effect. Your brain can reward you for drinking milk. Mu opioid receptor. Your brain super rewards you for finding opium. All of the opioid receptors are effected, but the mu makes the dopamine and you want more, then the other ones repress your breathing and put you to sido so a predator can eat you and you and your degenerate tribe can’t eat all the poppies. Other plants do this in more or lesser degrees. They can affect fertility negatively, and help stop humans from swarming like locusts, some plants can make you tireless and aggressive. Some plants might cause suicidal ideation in some people. But humans are sooooo adaptable. And what we can’t adapt to we can cause adaptation in.

That's really interesting, I'll look into that. About to get that big tub of whey isolate (2.2kg) and a tray of eggs. Been fasting 48 hours with water only, well, water and pills.

Definitely will do that thanks bro! We hit back tonight, went hard and heavy and it was intense. The DOMS from the squats on Sunday hit and those steps yesterday probably rubbed it in, my arms are completely knackered from yesterday morning, the soreness from the back we just did is creeping on already but chest is sweet and tomorrow is chest day 😄

I did know that yeah, but it's easy to forget with how are now to be honest, and you don't mention it every five seconds like me 😅 but there's a secret recovery language of people who have recovered and I did notice you are fluent 😀 that doesn't happen by chance.

I did a bit of sleeping on the street too but now I've got a van haha. Atcually that episode was because my first fancy camper van got stolen so, swings and roundabouts I guess.

The diet plan is moving into execution now, got money today and went shopping with the guys. We both got whey and I got two 18 packs of eggs, 5kg of white rice, three cans of tuna and some more instant coffee

I pretty much just ate an apple on that 33k step plus lifting day yesterday and ate nothing until 5pm today when Dave gave me a protein bar and drink which restored my energy to lift, I was kinda fading a bit during the day.

I will probably revisit fasting two days before next pay day 😄 it's powerful stuff, I have experimented a bit in the past but feel like with the reta and test and being in a true deficit for the first time consistently adding a day or two of water fasting will really push things over the edge.

Made my first egg & whey shake and it was smooth in the blender, gonna be easy getting three of them a day down

Eggs add 5.8g x 4 = 23.2g and two scoops of the new whey is 31g x 2 = 62g so 85.2 grams of protein and 5g of creitine in each shake so three of them a day is 255.6 grams of protein from shakes with 12 eggs in them. Much better than the supermarket powder.

Definitely agree with that, not to mention a time sink but negativity is a gains killer enough alone to ditch it all, I even deleted YouTube on day 3 logging here and my life is already richer for it. I also haven't heard a single advert since then. Apps and social media is such a crappy addiction too.

Haha thanks bro, it's rice with sea salt in it, I am in a deficit today having eaten one apple this morning and the rest of that rice tonight which was maybe 250grams. And I did that lifting session this morning and walked 32,800 steps. Did something slightly gross this morning, my water jug was empty and it was raining so didn't want to walk to a tap but I had the water I washed the rice in last night saved in my blender to throw outside, so I made an instant coffee with the rice juice... in reality it wasn't as bad as it sounds 😅

Very true bro! Most of the USA vanlife people on Reddit are doing it to stack cash and avoid the intense craziness with mortgages and rental shortages/prices in lots of places there, especially in California. The Cali vanlifers are hardcore, and have law enforcement, council by-law ans parking stuff.. they basically stay at places like the carparks of Walmart or 24 hour gyms sometimes because they don't have any options.

I can just pull over on the side of the road wherever I want pretty much. I stay in the same spot which is the road next to the gym where there's a park and halfpipe and basketball hoop and no other people, within 100 meters of two gyms =)

Yeah it freaks me out bro, I eat so much of it. I'm gonna switch to 400 gram cans of mackerel and mash it with rice ans hopefully can learn to eat that haha. The shit is wild but it's got like 25g protein per 100g and costs $2.20. 185 grams of store brand tuna costs like $3.50. Also live at the beach and am unemployed so I should probably look into fishing 😀

Hey all - I just returned from my day working on the ship, there's a severe weather warning & red alert for windspeed. Last time this happened nobody came to the gym so maybe it'll be all mine tonight. It's been getting more and more packed each night, the word is getting out. No groups of teenage boys pointing at nothing on each other's shirtless prepubescent bodies in the middle of the gym though so could be worse.

I've made some solid investments this week and am now broke. Laying the foundations for the next phase of consistent dieting - namely my new portable battery powered blender:

After a day of experiments with varying degrees of success I only have enough powder for one 2-scoop shake a day and no eggs. I am going to have to get more/different powder this dole day though. Two bags of the supermarket one I have would be $100 or a whole third of my weekly income so I should give it some thought, I was hoping to budget $60 for eggs now I've learnt to drink them, which would get me 90 from the farmers market.

I started putting salt into the tuna cans and it's good, could have got a third one down last night but thought I'd better save it for another day.

I would usually be pretty worried being this far out with so little food but I've been listening to a bunch of older podcast episodes lately where @stevesmi teaches us about fasting. He also has a log/thread where he lays out research and studies into fasting, talks a bit about how the middle eastern lifters have incorporated fasting from their cultural practices into their training too to great result. Monday and Tuesday seem like great days to experiment with that, and that also means I don't need to do anything about not having any money for food which suits me perfectly. Thanks Steve =)

I appear to be out of instant coffee though, that might be a bigger issue. If that goes south I can always go to the ship and have one.

I now have the blender, I've run the experiments and figured out how to drink eggs. I'm ready to start consistently doing this on Wednesday once restocked in powder & eggs.

The entry I didn't post on Thursday was photos and text of my whole day spent learning how to separate eggs whites which I'd never done before and various ways to make shakes up with just a cup and a spoon as tools but it was all for nothing because just cracking four whole eggs in and blending comes out perfectly nice. Nothing to share came of it so I just didn't post. I ended up throwing out all the egg yolks I'd saved in my pot during this unfortunately, and about 300g of left over beef mince. I couldn't face them over a two day period and then they were off.

All that effort with the egg whites and wasting eggs for like 12g extra protein in the shake was not worth it so I just cracked four eggs straight into the blender and apart from the colour change I can't notice the difference taste or texture wise, it was all in my head. I love eggs so I don't even know why.. probably because of Rocky movies.

12 eggs each shake is what Vince Gironda wrote about in the 60s, he recommended doing cycles of these shakes "like DBOL" for 8 weeks. He was using fertilised (?) eggs and mixing with half&half (full-fat milk and cream mix) I want to try this at some stage in the future but for now I'm pretty happy with the idea of being able to get 12 eggs a day down that easy.

The retatrutide is absolutely amazing. It blows my mind that humans can design and produce drugs this advanced. How they do that is beyond my realm. I can understand having three different things doing one task each and combining them in a pill or something but this I dunno. Amazing they did though, I never thought I'd have this much control over what I eat without great mental effort or discomfort or.. something

Been a little bit rocky this week but I feel like I'm close to finding a new normal with it.

I did my first shot with the new EOD dosing plan recommended by @LevButlerov and @Dave1288499 and already it's much better. I am not sick today like I was last Saturday but can 100% notice the dose is working, it seems to be noticeable about 20 hours after.

Same process as last time, pinched a fold of my leg skin and pinned the micro-needle into the fat. All on schedule with regular testosterone pins too, have come to really like my post walk pin ritual. Gives me ten minutes to calm down while my muscles are well warmed up and process what I'm doing and work on the mind-needle connection.

I walked into the city to go work on the ship today and had a dodgy stomach at times, got a few waves of nausea but they cleared pretty quick. I'm back at my van now and feel okay. Would have been 12k steps there and back but that's all I've done today really, I'm gonna hit the gym tonight.

Been working on bodyweight squats and bar only squats lately. Mobster recommended the bar squats and I'm fully on board, they fit in nicely with my general plan of losing weight and getting fitter, and I'm comfortable with them already whereas I am not with heavy free weight barbell squats.

I progressed on the hacksquat over the past six months with my PT and I'm comfortable continuing with that and will use that for my heavy leg day which I'll do once a week not twice, and want to add high rep bodyweight and bar squats into my weekly schedule somehow. I can already feel their affect a bit, they're making me fitter and stronger in a way that's definitely new.

I have been unstructured in training this week but I've been learning and figuring some shit out, it's okay. I've showered everyday and not been missing cardio warmups, I'll post more training stuff soon, I've been formalising a routine and schedule to get input from @Dave1288499 who kindly offered to look over it for me.

Thanks bro! I gotta say I was a bit iffy about powder being a giant hippy and all but I'm glad I did now, it adds quite a bit of flexibility. What I landed on was 4 eggs cracked into the blender, two scoops of optimum nutrition whey and between those each shake is 85g of protein and the eggs just blend in like nothing and I can't even notice them. So a few of those a day and I'm getting a whole carton of eggs a day I liquid form haha 😄

Yeah that's true, it's a insane problem... I can't believe they can literally sell poison as food now. But soon we'll be able to do heavy metals testing on anabolics using a gascromategraph at the needle exchange. It's one of those machines you see on Boarder Security at the airport, it has a giant database of chemical signatures so it could probably detect what's in it too but not do purity testing.. just being able to test for contamination is more than I can say about factory tuna tho 😔

Hah that's atcually why I picked them. My Dad is a tree grafter and he makes people these franken apple trees he trains along fences where every branch is a graft from a different strain so you get like eight types of apple off it so I wad researching heritage varieties and it turns out all those things we do to make money have reduced the nutritional content of monocrop farm apples (means the soil is just there to hold the tree, they need external vitamins like we need testosterone and also pesticides because no plants to defend = modern apple) by and entirely 1/8th.

That saying is pretty old, so whoever came up with it was thinking of more like eight apples today. We just can't escape shit like this anymore. The "100% Pure NZ" image the government uses for attracting international tourists is a marketing campaign made up by the ex-Australian prime minister when he was an advertising executive and is not the reality of how things are. Everything is poisoned and polluted and especially the countryside.

Failing that how do you get tested yourself? Is this something people get blood tests down for or you just have to wait until you need to go to the ER and they figure it out somehow?

There's tons of people who live in vans in the USA that have had it happen to them... it's not just fearmongering and people are getting it in person I just don't know any here.

Those two tins I posted yesterday both say "made it Thailand" on them. I didn't even consider that those might be imported... we're an island nation with empty seas around... this is atcually pretty bad when I look at it all.

Definitely agree with that, not to mention a time sink but negativity is a gains killer enough alone to ditch it all, I even deleted YouTube on day 3 logging here and my life is already richer for it. I also haven't heard a single advert since then. Apps and social media is such a crappy addiction too.
Yes cutting that noise out makes a huge difference, less wasted time and no ads constantly pulling at you. Easy to see how much more energy and focus you’ve got when you’re not scrolling or stuck in that cycle, way better for gains and mindset. :D
 
Hah that's atcually why I picked them. My Dad is a tree grafter and he makes people these franken apple trees he trains along fences where every branch is a graft from a different strain so you get like eight types of apple off it so I wad researching heritage varieties and it turns out all those things we do to make money have reduced the nutritional content of monocrop farm apples (means the soil is just there to hold the tree, they need external vitamins like we need testosterone and also pesticides because no plants to defend = modern apple) by and entirely 1/8th.

That saying is pretty old, so whoever came up with it was thinking of more like eight apples today. We just can't escape shit like this anymore. That’s actually pretty cool, grafting different varieties like that makes the tree a full buffet and way more interesting than the bland supermarket apples. Crazy how much nutrient density has dropped with modern farming, makes sense why heritage stuff tastes and feels better. if you’re worried about mercury or contaminants the best move is testing yourself, not the fish. A simple blood test can show mercury levels, heavy metals, and it’s something a decent GP or private lab can order, that way you know for sure instead of guessing. Sending fish samples off is possible but usually expensive and not practical unless you’re doing research.

If you don’t trust the imports, better go with alternatives like pasture raised beef, chicken, or even omega 3 supplements that are molecularly filtered, those are designed to remove mercury. Eating local fresh fish in NZ sounds ideal but like you said the rivers and ports aren’t clean so it’s not really safer. I’d rotate protein sources and if you want fish oil benefits, grab a brand that specifically says “mercury free” or “purified” so you’re covered.

In your financial situation now, don't worry about heavy metals, you can clear those out later. Worry about getting enough protein, even if from canned fish. :D Protein high is our goal.

The DOMS from the squats on Sunday hit and those steps yesterday probably rubbed it in, my arms are completely knackered from yesterday morning, the soreness from the back we just did is creeping on already but chest is sweet and tomorrow is chest day 😄

I did a bit of sleeping on the street too but now I've got a van haha. Atcually that episode was because my first fancy camper van got stolen so, swings and roundabouts I guess.

The diet plan is moving into execution now, got money today and went shopping with the guys. We both got whey and I got two 18 packs of eggs, 5kg of white rice, three cans of tuna and some more instant coffee

I pretty much just ate an apple on that 33k step plus lifting day yesterday and ate nothing until 5pm today when Dave gave me a protein bar and drink which restored my energy to lift, I was kinda fading a bit during the day.

I will probably revisit fasting two days before next pay day 😄 it's powerful stuff, I have experimented a bit in the past but feel like with the reta and test and being in a true deficit for the first time consistently adding a day or two of water fasting will really push things over the edge.

Eggs add 5.8g x 4 = 23.2g and two scoops of the new whey is 31g x 2 = 62g so 85.2 grams of protein and 5g of creitine in each shake so three of them a day is 255.6 grams of protein from shakes with 12 eggs in them. Much better than the supermarket powder.

That’s a brutal stretch, 33k steps plus squats then heavy back the next day is gonna leave everything lit up, no wonder you’re sore all over. The food shop looks good though, eggs rice tuna whey and coffee is all you need to fuel a solid session, that shake setup with eggs and whey giving you 85g protein each time is a monster!!! LOVE IT :D
3 of those plus meals and you’re stacked with protein. Adding fasting here and there with the retatrutide and test will definitely sharpen fat loss even more, just make sure recovery doesn’t stall from running yourself into the ground. @vanlife_gymbum
 
I just got back from meeting up with fellow Evo logger @Dave1288499. He got the same gym membership as me on the bus on his way to Wellington and I went and picked up his tag for him before they closed.

We went straight to the gym. I poorly timed my reta EOD shot and ate an apple right before leaving. I left his free gym bag for new members in my van and ran back to get it before he arrived and the run was taxing and the reta and apple mixed and I spewed on the side of the gym. Guess it's gonna be a fasted lifting session.

This was my first time going to the gym with someone else before and I had an awesome time, Dave had his other really strong mate with him and the three of us went hard.

I don't think photos can capture what's going on with his muscle definition very well, it was pretty awesome to see in person. Dave's a cool guy and knows tons about training and guided his friend and me through a pretty hardcore arm session, I learnt tons of new shit and it's much appreciated thanks bro.

Being able to prod the different part of his muscle while it was under heavy load was really trippy and trying to figure out wtf was going on with the different parts I've never seen directly before was definitely educational.

We were really riding the good vibrations in the gym and people definatly noticed him and were pretty obvious about it haha

A young guy came over and took the other cable station half and started doing the Sword-Scabbard Pulls and so I struck up a conversation with him using that as the opener - he was cool and called them cable side lateral raises. He and his friend at the next cable station were both checking bro out with great interest pretty blatantly

Then this buff Indian dude I've seen a few times before on the captins chair leg raise machine directly behind us also preformed a pretty thorough inspection from the rare before doing a lap around the long way to his next machine to have a geeze from the other side.

Later a chick at the fixed small barbell and eze-bar rack kinda positioned herself in a way that made her open to being assisted which was kinda smooth of her and bro was atcually pretty smooth in return and gave her the ten that I was hoping to get, forcing me to use the 15, also pretty smooth. I wouldn't be surprised if she did that to get a better look at him tho 😎

We ran into an impressive dude too, after we were done while I was putting my clothes back on in the locker room a guy dressed for running in neon yellow came in dripping with sweat hardcore but was friendly and we talked to him about his crazy 4th wall running stuff and he was clearly at an advanced level of fitness and Dave probed him pretty hard for technical details of his training which he was surprisingly receptive too and he told us some cool shit.

Then we left the big gym and walked over the road to the exclusive R18 gym.

These guys are from a rural area in the middle of the countryside an hours drive away from a gym and just like me three weeks ago, I dont think had never seen anything the likes of this place before. It's very flash and ultra-modern and the perfect place to wind down a bit. I think they liked what they saw.

This is Dave's gym now too, we're both in the exclusive club and we should make good use of exclusive gear for recovery we have access to now. I gave him a brief tour of the Nautilus machines but we got down to business and went upstairs where the massage gear, infra-red saunas, pilates room, couch, and massage chair room with rainforest sound noises and a giant movie screen playing soothing natural bush flyover scenery lives, very very nice.

We had to wait for a group of three girls and one guy finished their turns and vacated the recovery and meditation room as they call the room, it has four ultra-modern massage chairs that must cost a shit ton. They are awesome and I've been getting physical recovery gains from regular half hour sessions. I can plug my phone into the wall to change while I do it.

While waiting we played around with the electric massage hammer guns and vibrating balls and Bluetooth foam rollers.. and Dave was making plans for the infra-red sauna during the week but the details of that went over my head.

We did the half hour "after sports" massage routine which is basically full-body going through each section of your body one by one. Both him and his mate looked stoned half way through, or half asleep.. pretty sure they were digging it.

Time to crash hard.

Yeah that's true, it's a insane problem... I can't believe they can literally sell poison as food now. But soon we'll be able to do heavy metals testing on anabolics using a gascromategraph at the needle exchange. It's one of those machines you see on Boarder Security at the airport, it has a giant database of chemical signatures so it could probably detect what's in it too but not do purity testing.. just being able to test for contamination is more than I can say about factory tuna tho 😔

Well they went to a port and captain wouldn’t let the engineers hide the guns. They were boarded and they found the guns and the whole crew spent months in some god awful jail. Foolish. Odds are all they needed was a small bribe because they just don’t have money in places like that. Up here, the coast guard I guess finds all kinds of drugs and stuff every day.

Haha yeah I know right... neither had I.. back when I got them from my friend whose father was a vet he pinched them from I heard rumours about it but it sounded too far fetched to be true and I didn't look into it further. Crazy thing was it was atcually on the same street I lived on and I walked past it every day completely obliviously.

But in all seriousness the needle exchange saved NZ from the AIDS crisis in the 80s. We had a big IV homebake herion scene which was using easily acquired industrial acid to turn over the counter codiene pills into herion so our small population would not have saved us alone.

Druggies conspire more after dark and if any stupid decisions are gonna be made it's likely worse after hours. So the needle exchange makes it so you can drop used needles through a slot after hours, and the vending machine means you can get new needles.

Most of the stuff in the machine is geared to IV street drug use but there's 3, 5, 10, 30ml barrels, mixing kits, wheel filters, pure water, 25 and 26g tips.. maybe a drawing needles is useful to some but I haven't needed it so far.

I saw it right before I went on a worktrip to America and had just learnt about high fructose corn syrup from it and how it's subsidied and that's why it's in everything and my workmate and I played a game where we went to the supermarket and hunted for the craziest thing containing it. My pick was a box of green tea bags... like how the fuck to you get that into tea leaves and put them in the teabag? And why the fuck would you do that?

But then my workmate came with his and he found a 20 Litre BUCKET of pre-made cake icing. I was unaware that you could buy that already made up to begin with but this thing was comical and we had fun imagining what kind of person would buy such a thing and how they would go about using it 🤣

Yes Food, Inc really opened a lot of eyes back then, crazy how much of that stuff is just normal in the US now. The egg thing is true, they wash them and strip the natural coating so they have to refrigerate, while here you can just leave them out. That HFCS game you played is hilarious, green tea bags and a 20L tub of icing is wild, exactly the kind of nonsense that makes you shake your head but laugh at the same time :D :P.

Fair enough bro, that makes good sense. I don't know a lot about this whole issue, and the farmed fish seem to have their own set of issues too. The country of origin isn't much help in this case either anyway.

A simple blood test can show mercury levels, heavy metals, and it’s something a decent GP or private lab can order, that way you know for sure instead of guessing.

I'll add that to the list, I didn't realise it was that simple. Saving up for bloods so I can post them and also going to engage Stevesmi professionally to talk my bigger plan and medical stuff over. It's hard for me to believe but I'm not even at a month of logging yet. Gotta stop slacking on my template and getting all my data into it so it's not just rambling but a mix of the two with some consistent format.

True, that does sound expensive haha. There might be ways I can get some relevant data out of the government who do tons and tons of testing constantly. We have an entire ministry of fisheries and its pretty hardcore. But that's for the future, as you said high protien is the goal!

Okay bro that gives me some options and can make something work there. I never really ate chicken at all since I moved away from home at 15. I couldn't cook when I was younger and chicken seemed too hard/risky haha. After eating raw chicken in Japan I'm no longer worried about it but the protien numbers don't seem that impressive - like @HarleyGuy ate that entire bird the other day and got 150g of protein from it... I'd be expecting a certificate in the mail if I did that haha.

The 400g cans of Mackreal I mentioned that are $2.20 ($1.28 USD) are 100g for the whole thing. I still haven't tried but I'm already down to sub $10 on day 2 so maybe a good time to try. If I can mix those with rice and get one of those down I'll be pleased with myself and in a good position.... I'm already gonna be drinking 12eggs a day from baseline shakes. Don't even need to put water in if you use enough eggs, this one has eggs first then a little water then the powder:

I haven't been posting close ups of my pills in my hand but you can see that they're going off and have spots on them. Nearly done with those tho and my immune system is strong 😅

Thank you so much bro! This is exactly what I needed. I had no idea what the consequences could be and there's so much bullshit to wade through and in NZ there's a lot of politics around it and tons of scams going on there to further muddy the waters.

With the 3 shakes/12 eggs drank as a baseline I'm gonna be getting 255g protein so have a lot of wiggle room with food choices. I'm going to stop worrying about it and save further research for another year and work on getting more tins.

I've run into some vehicle registration and safety related issues which are costly to address and I'm thinking about hitting up a food bank. I used to donate to them but I've never used one myself. Since I don't have a fridge they'll probably give me tins of stuff so might be able to get some canned fish that way.

The 5kg rice sack pretty much took care of carbs. @Dave1288499 thinks I'm good using that as my carb source and it was like $1 USD per kilogram so cheap. And @stevesmi pointed out the acidity of the apples I spewed might play well with reta and that he changed his fruit choices on it too so I'm happy to wait until summer when I can pull things off trees myself.

Things are shaping up nicely diet wise man and I really appreciate what you've done for me with that.

After eating raw chicken in Japan I'm no longer worried about it but the protien numbers don't seem that impressive - like @HarleyGuy ate that entire bird the other day and got 150g of protein from it... I'd be expecting a certificate in the mail if I did that haha.

The 400g cans of Mackreal I mentioned that are $2.20 ($1.28 USD) are 100g for the whole thing. I still haven't tried but I'm already down to sub $10 on day 2 so maybe a good time to try. If I can mix those with rice and get one of those down I'll be pleased with myself and in a good position.... I'm already gonna be drinking 12eggs a day from baseline shakes. Don't even need to put water in if you use enough eggs, this one has eggs first then a little water then the powder:

With the 3 shakes/12 eggs drank as a baseline I'm gonna be getting 255g protein so have a lot of wiggle room with food choices. I'm going to stop worrying about it and save further research for another year and work on getting more tins.

I've run into some vehicle registration and safety related issues which are costly to address and I'm thinking about hitting up a food bank. I used to donate to them but I've never used one myself. Since I don't have a fridge they'll probably give me tins of stuff so might be able to get some canned fish that way.

The 5kg rice sack pretty much took care of carbs. @Dave1288499 thinks I'm good using that as my carb source and it was like $1 USD per kilogram so cheap. And @stevesmi pointed out the acidity of the apples I spewed might play well with reta and that he changed his fruit choices on it too so I'm happy to wait until summer when I can pull things off trees myself.

Things are shaping up nicely diet wise man and I really appreciate what you've done for me with that.
You’re in a good groove now, eggs and shakes locking in 250+ protein puts you way ahead, then the rice bag and cheap tins just round it out. Don’t stress about the politics or mercury stuff right now, just keep eating what you can afford and keep it consistent, that’s what builds size. Food bank idea is smart if you’re tight, they’ll hand out plenty of shelf stable stuff that works with your setup, and by summer you’ll have fruit straight off the trees to mix in. :D @vanlife_gymbum
 
I can’t remember for sure. I think it was El Salvador. He used to do a lot of long trips pulling things like dry docks that were purchased in other countries. Pretty wild. He made so much money he retired at 40.

Haha yeah I know right... neither had I.. back when I got them from my friend whose father was a vet he pinched them from I heard rumours about it but it sounded too far fetched to be true and I didn't look into it further. Crazy thing was it was atcually on the same street I lived on and I walked past it every day completely obliviously.

But in all seriousness the needle exchange saved NZ from the AIDS crisis in the 80s. We had a big IV homebake herion scene which was using easily acquired industrial acid to turn over the counter codiene pills into herion so our small population would not have saved us alone.

Druggies conspire more after dark and if any stupid decisions are gonna be made it's likely worse after hours. So the needle exchange makes it so you can drop used needles through a slot after hours, and the vending machine means you can get new needles.

Most of the stuff in the machine is geared to IV street drug use but there's 3, 5, 10, 30ml barrels, mixing kits, wheel filters, pure water, 25 and 26g tips.. maybe a drawing needles is useful to some but I haven't needed it so far.

Hey all - I just returned from my day working on the ship, there's a severe weather warning & red alert for windspeed. Last time this happened nobody came to the gym so maybe it'll be all mine tonight. It's been getting more and more packed each night, the word is getting out. No groups of teenage boys pointing at nothing on each other's shirtless prepubescent bodies in the middle of the gym though so could be worse.

I've made some solid investments this week and am now broke. Laying the foundations for the next phase of consistent dieting - namely my new portable battery powered blender:

After a day of experiments with varying degrees of success I only have enough powder for one 2-scoop shake a day and no eggs. I am going to have to get more/different powder this dole day though. Two bags of the supermarket one I have would be $100 or a whole third of my weekly income so I should give it some thought, I was hoping to budget $60 for eggs now I've learnt to drink them, which would get me 90 from the farmers market.

I started putting salt into the tuna cans and it's good, could have got a third one down last night but thought I'd better save it for another day.

I would usually be pretty worried being this far out with so little food but I've been listening to a bunch of older podcast episodes lately where @stevesmi teaches us about fasting. He also has a log/thread where he lays out research and studies into fasting, talks a bit about how the middle eastern lifters have incorporated fasting from their cultural practices into their training too to great result. I appear to be out of instant coffee though, that might be a bigger issue. If that goes south I can always go to the ship and have one.

I now have the blender, I've run the experiments and figured out how to drink eggs. I'm ready to start consistently doing this on Wednesday once restocked in powder & eggs.

The entry I didn't post on Thursday was photos and text of my whole day spent learning how to separate eggs whites which I'd never done before and various ways to make shakes up with just a cup and a spoon as tools but it was all for nothing because just cracking four whole eggs in and blending comes out perfectly nice. Nothing to share came of it so I just didn't post. I ended up throwing out all the egg yolks I'd saved in my pot during this unfortunately, and about 300g of left over beef mince. I couldn't face them over a two day period and then they were off.

All that effort with the egg whites and wasting eggs for like 12g extra protein in the shake was not worth it so I just cracked four eggs straight into the blender and apart from the colour change I can't notice the difference taste or texture wise, it was all in my head. I love eggs so I don't even know why.. probably because of Rocky movies.

12 eggs each shake is what Vince Gironda wrote about in the 60s, he recommended doing cycles of these shakes "like DBOL" for 8 weeks. He was using fertilised (?) eggs and mixing with half&half (full-fat milk and cream mix) I want to try this at some stage in the future but for now I'm pretty happy with the idea of being able to get 12 eggs a day down that easy.

The retatrutide is absolutely amazing. It blows my mind that humans can design and produce drugs this advanced. How they do that is beyond my realm. I can understand having three different things doing one task each and combining them in a pill or something but this I dunno. Amazing they did though, I never thought I'd have this much control over what I eat without great mental effort or discomfort or.. something

I did my first shot with the new EOD dosing plan recommended by @LevButlerov and @Dave1288499 and already it's much better. I am not sick today like I was last Saturday but can 100% notice the dose is working, it seems to be noticeable about 20 hours after.

Same process as last time, pinched a fold of my leg skin and pinned the micro-needle into the fat. All on schedule with regular testosterone pins too, have come to really like my post walk pin ritual. Gives me ten minutes to calm down while my muscles are well warmed up and process what I'm doing and work on the mind-needle connection.

I walked into the city to go work on the ship today and had a dodgy stomach at times, got a few waves of nausea but they cleared pretty quick. I'm back at my van now and feel okay. Would have been 12k steps there and back but that's all I've done today really, I'm gonna hit the gym tonight.

Been working on bodyweight squats and bar only squats lately. Mobster recommended the bar squats and I'm fully on board, they fit in nicely with my general plan of losing weight and getting fitter, and I'm comfortable with them already whereas I am not with heavy free weight barbell squats.

I progressed on the hacksquat over the past six months with my PT and I'm comfortable continuing with that and will use that for my heavy leg day which I'll do once a week not twice, and want to add high rep bodyweight and bar squats into my weekly schedule somehow. I can already feel their affect a bit, they're making me fitter and stronger in a way that's definitely new.

I have been unstructured in training this week but I've been learning and figuring some shit out, it's okay. I've showered everyday and not been missing cardio warmups, I'll post more training stuff soon, I've been formalising a routine and schedule to get input from @Dave1288499 who kindly offered to look over it for me.

I also found a cheap source of eggs, $10 for a tray of 20, but it's from the NZ equivalent of Walmart not the farmers market. So to keep things easy I'll do 3 scoops not 2 and 5 eggs instead of 4. So

5.8g x 5 = 29g
24g x 3 = 72g

Then 72g + 29g = 101 grams protien per shake

For $10 a day I'd have enough eggs for 4 shakes, giving me 404 grams of protein a day from egg-shakes. I can add rice in there for very cheap and I'm sorted for now. I'm really pleased about it 😀

I feel I can physically manage 4 shakes no problem, they're atcually really nice and digest fine and I don't feel like I'm just drinking by-products from a chemical plant with the eggs in there. I haven't worked out how many scoops I need but can always drop to two scoops for some when I start running out in a few days.

It's not that difficult bro. Honestly I took me about a week to build up to 400g of protein a day. Now I can't stop lol. I'm aiming for 350g per day but I keep consistently hitting 400-450.

Just progressively eat a bit more with every meal each day. A little bit at a time over 4 meals a day adds up quickly.

That’s a solid setup, hitting just over 100g protein in a shake with eggs and whey is a cheap and effective way to stack your intake. Four shakes a day puts you at over 400g protein which is plenty, and pairing it with rice will keep carbs covered without breaking the budget. :D

Haha okay deal bro! Gonna have to request we start the timer on Wednesday though. I just had my last three eggs in shake #2 for today. I had my 6000 step walk at 8am to the pharmacy and back then had one shake with 4 eggs before meeting @Dave1288499 at 9:30 where he was doing a depletion workout which was fun because we did small amounts on lots of different machines and body parts. He's got his weigh-in for his show tomorrow at 16:30 in about three hours time. He was looking really lean and meaty in the locker room after where his friend and I gave him a proper inspection 😂

That's it bro! Was a couple of weeks worth of trial and error and you helping me modify things to land here but this is gonna be perfect for me and I believe sustainable. I need to focus on a plan to get the $70 for eggs and $130 for powder but that's all I need so I will manage somehow. And rice is cheap and I already have a big pot made up.

About to have a plate of rice after the shake and loading up for tonight. I'm going to go to the fancy gym alone and do a workout I've had simmering in my mind all week. Learnt a bunch of new dumbbell moves which I think will complement my workouts, just figuring out how to slot them in and how to write down the routines and schedule I've been working on in a way it's easy to show you guys and get feedback.

Meeting Dave for a heavy leg day on Sunday before he returns home. He's pretty locked in and focused on his weigh-in and show tomorrow, he's approaching it in a very methodical way and seems really professional to my layman's eye.

Yeah bro, but that scene did more harm than good for me and kept me from it until now. It made it look so hardcore implying it sucks ass but Rockys just so on the grind he pushes through the suck... and as such I never atcually tried drinking them despite being a long term fan and user of eggs.

In reality the shakes almost taste like candy from the flavor of the powder, I definitely can't taste the eggs at all, and the colour the yolks add is atcually nice not gross how you might imagine and the texture is only slightly thicker than the shake was without them, if noticeable at all.

So I'm not going to pretend this is more hardcore than it is and once I've experimented a bit and have some data to back me up I'll write up the method and promote it to more people on the forum when I spot a chance.. I think it's gonna be a pretty sweet cheat code, as it's just a few banana milkshakes and you get 400g...

Even with my all meat and eggs diet I was only just hitting 200g protein most days.

I’ve been trying these whey and eggs shakes. Am I missing something? It’s very unsatisfying lol. I could really consume a lot of these and feel like there’s nothing in my stomach hahahaha. I just did five eggs, water, scoop of whey, tiny monkfruit pinch. That’s like 75g of protein. I wonder if I can get peanut butter into it. I used to put heavy whipping cream in shakes. Liquid food just doesn’t hit for me.
