Veteran Log First Testosterone Cycle and Beginner Training Log

My thoughts are that if you're tolerating 2mg now and it's working for you then soon enough you'll end up at 3mg and even 4mg if you wanted to go long term with the same effects. My advice is to use this 2mg to get a really good habit of what to eat (like you're doing and without the food noise currently) and discipline yourself to stick to that diet so that when you do go half dose for the winter (which isn't a bad idea because with Reta you end up needing more for the same effect over long periods of time) you can downgrade your dose and have the discipline in place to stick to your diet despite some louder food noise. I'd run your 2mg until the end of the year or until you've reached your goal weight and/or BF% and then slowly titrate down expecting some food noise but using the discipline you're learning now with the help of the 2mg dose.

Okay man, thanks a lot. That is a sensible plan and I'll go with that. I hadn't given any thought to tolerance with it at all atcually.

Ya tolerance is a thing with Reta... and basically anything we put in our body tbh.

Re DB bench press, it will take a little to get used to stability wise but after that it's pretty straight forward and one of the best pressing exercises I reckon. Better for your shoulders than BB bench press.

That's a really good point, thanks man. I try and consider shoulder and joint strain in everything I plan and I can see exactly what you mean. I'll some effort specifically into learning key db techniques and adding the to my schedule. Do you just do db press flat or do incline versions as well? Any other db exercises you think are vital?

Yeah I've been having big issues with high E2. Not long ago (when I knew a lot less), I assumed that anyone running T at cycle doses (300+) would need to run an AI and that even a lot of TRT people would. In reality, some people seem to be able to run 500/week and not need an AI and most on TRT don't need one.

I'm one of the unlucky ones who definitely needs it for T only. My E2 was 360 (range is <160) on just 130/week.

That's a bummer bro, we're you doing trt through a doctor or did you figure all this out from blood tests yourself? Seems like you're getting yourself in a good position where you know how your body will react to certain things. The more varials we control or know about the better and the whole estrogen topic is where a lot of big questions arise haha. TRT was my original motivation too.
I'm about change from 450/week Test to around 300-350 Test plus the same EQ and hoping the will significantly reduce my need for AI. Sounds like Primo is the best for this but apparently there is a worldwide shortage.

Hah cool man. We are researching the exact same thing and thinking along the same lines. In addition to the shortage it's also a commonly faked steriod and I'm going to have to leave safe waters and take some risks to try get either of them in NZ so I think I'll have better luck with EQ, I also like the sound of it better if a compare them. There's lots of good Evo podcast content related to EQ, I've gotten tons of leads from them and is how I decided on that stack too.

I got Nolvadex when I saw how high my E2 was and starting feeling some heat / sensitivity in my nipples. Just recently I think there is some small new lumps there (hard to tell as I have gyno from adolescents). I think after my blood test this week I will start it.

Can you get free blood tests over there? Might be worth doing that and checking your levels before jumping on?

I'm definitely getting blood work done it's just a bit complicated under this system, got an appointment with the methadone clinic doctor tomorrow and a story to ask how to get access to the results of past tests myself. But regardless I'm also about to start getting private ones done so I can post the results to my log. I'm running testosterone from Life Forge (@SaintSoup) to verify for the forum so I need to post bloods so everyone can see what the test did to me. I don't think it'll be a problem getting thr baseline scan results tomorrow, I did a bunch including testosterone levels, liver and kidney the week before starting test, on week 5 now. Also got an ECG done.

Yea I like smith machines. I'm hoping to add one to my home gym setup. A lot of companies are starting to design rack integrated smith machines so I'm waiting for them to fine tune one and then I'll buy. The Smith machine is more like using an actual machine versus a barbell and I'm always looking for ways to fit more machines into my home gym

Fair enough man! It's so cool what you've done with your home gym setup. Be keen as on seeing your updates about that. The machines themselves are so cool man, some of the designs blow my mind. I love inventor/lifter combos like George Hackenschmidt but also love all those weird engineer crackpots who worked for Nautilus and companies like that. Wonder what kind of background the guys who maintain them for gyms have... might be a cool thing to look into doing in the future.

Day 41: Cutting Progress Pictures

I don't have the eye for this sort of thing but a middle aged lady I haven't seen for a while came over and was having a good feel of my arms and shit saying I look really different.

I also I have tons of loose skin around my lower belly if I bend over so must be some change, but only reduced from 81kg to 78kg on the scale. Plus it's been a month so I thought I better log an updated picture.

This is the updated photo form today. Not holding anything in but had just exhaled. I don't remember being able to see those bones at the side (hip?) But could have mistaken it for the overhang of my gut.

I really don't like the loose skin I have now and I've never been one for looking too hard in the mirror so just haven't been thinking about it much. I'd rather see what you guys think:

Here's the shirtless picture from Day 1 in my intro post and Log entry with pictures from August 30

I don't have an alarm clock and slept until 9:35am this morning after 8 hours 48 minutes sleep... haven't slept in that late in a while.

13,606 steps so far today.

Hit over 500g of protein today as I ate some fish and had some extra eggs to use.

Had the first shake when I got back from my hour walk to the pharmacy and back. If you ignore those bits of shell that are about to be ground to powder, I've perfected my waterless whey and egg shake design:

Ate a can of tuna and two apples over several hours today:

Got my supplements down:

Had my third shake with an apple:

Then it was testosterone and retatrutide injection time:

Nearly finished my first bottle of Life Forge Test E, got another due this week tho 😀

Heavy Leg Day @ Nautilus Gym

I was going to do heavy leg day at thr big gym but it was absolutely packed and I couldn't be assed socialising tonight so went to the R18 gym, there's a leg press and squat rack there at least so it'll be all good.

Warmup

5 minutes treadmill, speed 6.4 then 5 minutes stairmaster at intensity level 6, a truely evil invention. Gonna switch to this instead of treadmill from now on.

Scaling stairs is a super useful skill and when there's stairs there's usually shit loads of stairs:

Screenshot_20251006-210007_Gallery.webp

Then started with leg curl which burnt from the first set

36kg x 12

Leg Extension

Started a little heavier than normal today

36kg x 12
36kg x 12
41kg x 12
41kg x 12
46kg x 12 1 rir

Felt like I could do a bit more so put in that forth set at 46kg

Leg Press

I just realised this Nautilus Leg Press starts at the opposite part of the movement to the Hammer Strength plate machines.

73kg x 12
82kg x 12
82kg x 12

Smith Machine Calf Raises

Saw a guy doing this at the gym with a 20kg plate on the ground and the back of his feet hanging half off to do raises from. Pretty clever, I'm down with that and there's not a calf raises machine at this gym at all otherwise I don't think, and the leg press starts at the wrong position to be able to do the calf raises on the leg press trick I think.

20kg x 12
20kg x 12
20kg x 12

Girls keep doing hip thruster type stuff down on the ground in the squat rack.

Smith machine guy is taking ages with everything too but only got another 46kg x 12 on leg extension in before getting the squat rack back from the endless stream of hip thrust girls.

Using the technique taught by @stevesmi on the episode how to get more from training of using a bench behind you. I didn't get around to trying thr front squat with the bench behind he recommended recommends, but having the bench there did good things for my form I think. I'll do a mix of the two. There is other great squat info in that episode I've been slowly incorporating into my program.

Bar Squats

Gotta have a few of these in my heavy leg day too! I'm going to do heavy weight on hacksquat and leg press on one leg day and high rep bar only squats on the other. Hopefully won't exhaust myself like 2 heavy days was doing.

Bar x 12 damn those were hard
Bar x 12 and I'm pouring with sweat

Those were way harder after the heavy leg press. I'm gassed out and gonna call it a night and go shower.

I found a place that has TUDCA 500mg x 25 for $59. I'm starting to collect all the things im going to need for my cycle in a couple of months. I'm not going to be able to afford to buy everything at once and don't want to be doing this once I've already started. I'm going to get and store food as well as supplements and gear in advance.

Yea the home gym space if full of guys that like to tinker. Having your own gym allows you that freedom

Huge difference in those photos mate. Definitely much leaner and gained muscle as well. Would be good to have a side on to compare with the other ones 😀.

Solid workout as well. Not surprising that the squats were hard after the leg curls, leg extensions and leg press.

It really annoys me that a lot of gyms don't have a standing calf machine. It used to be a staple! I have a soft spot for training calves as when I started a had the thinnest legs you can imagine so blasted my calves big time.

Thanks bro, I'll take a side photo and see what you and @LevButlerov think, I'll post it in my entry tonight. It's noticeable from the side but so is all the loose skin. He basically does three sets on the leg extension then three on the leg curl for pre-exaustion before doing the main leg press. He was demonstrating that you can get the same results with lower weight on the leg press by pre exhausting so you pretty much nailed it there :)

Good progress from 81 to 78 kg since visual change and skin looseness show real fat loss even if the scale seems slow. You look amazing, really a life change for you :D bigger arms wider shoulders impressive! @vanlife_gymbum
Keep leg press around 82 to 92 kg for 3 to 4 sets of 10 to 12 at 1 to 2 RIR and bump 2.5 to 5 kg when you hit 12 clean, and alternate your heavy and high rep days like you mentioned to keep recovery tight.

Protein at 500 g keeps you full and helps preserve lean mass while cutting so keep macros clean and carbs 150 to 250 g near training with fats 50 to 70 g. Test pins and retatrutide are fine as long as both are dosed weekly and you pull e2 labs in week 6 to confirm balance.

Okay sweet, I trust you guys and your opinions but it was because of the loose skin plus that lady feeling me up, I can't notice a big difference myself apart from the signs like the loose skin.

I remember on the podcast once they were talking about how people used to sunbathe to tighten things up. Can't remember if that was specifically about skin but I'll have a look into it. I've never lost any weight before at all, not even once so I have no idea really.

Awesome thanks man! That's atcually perfect, exactly what I was after. Seems I've been stalling a bit with it since I left the PT. I got a 100kg on it on our last session. I'll follow this plan thanks a lot bro.

It's week 6 of test next week so I'll prioritise getting blood tests with E2. ED for test and EOD for reta.

Think I found a private place I can afford with on demand tests. Got a doctors appointment in an hour to try get the baseline test results from 7 weeks ago.

That was testosterone, liver and kidney function, three separate tests. Was only testosterone though, not a hormone panel. Also got an ECG done.

I gotta get away from the system and do this all privately now I think.

Appreciate your help bro 😀

Loose skin just means the fat drop outpaced the skin’s rebound, and it always tightens with time and stable nutrition. Stay patient and keep training hard since the muscle growth will help fill things out naturally. :D @vanlife_gymbum

Good call going private for labs so you can control timing and detail. Make sure the next panel includes e2, lipids, liver, kidney, and total test so you’ve got the full picture before making any dosing changes.

thought that condition only affected obese people when they got their stomach stapll
Honestly man I can loose just a few pounds and the skin will look different for a few days, like a wrinkle over my belly button. Don’t worry. It just means you’re making progress. You won’t be losing 100 pounds, so you’ll tighten up

I can't remember if you've spoken about it before but you have a real good knowledge of the bodybuilders from back in the day. I was following the Dorian Yates program recently and he likes pre exhaust for legs and back as well.

My gym has thing metal step so you can do standing calf raises in the smith machine. I noticed a while ago that one of the welds is splitting so I'm not game to use it. I need a decent load for calves due to all the work I did in the past. Arnie used to say that if you are 200lb then standing calves with 200lb is nothing as each calf should be able to do your bodyweight. Could switch to single leg for the top set but it's not the same.

View attachment 126456

Then started with leg curl which burnt from the first set

Leg Curl

View attachment 126469
36kg x 12
36kg x 12
41kg x 12
41kg x 12

@vanlife_gymbum tell us more about the ladies. they are cool with your van life or do they find out and then get turned more off? i would think some wouldn't like it and some would think it was cool

Excellent question bro, this comes up on the vanlife subreddit all the time as a blocker, guys just assume that's the end of their sex life but most vanlife girls just know that guys won't give a shit. Girls don't give a shit either, infact it's my Tinder hook. All pics are with my van at the beach, but it took me a little while to refine everything based on feedback as I had more tinder dates.

Some of the things that girls told me surprised me. I figured it'd be hairy guys in singlets holding a fish up with their three kids half cropped out of the photo but the main complaint was that most guys are corporate shills and list the corporation they work for as a personality trait on their Tinder profile, which is largely copy and pasted from their LinkedIn profiles.

I've been in Wellington three years now and the first few girls said they wanted to meet me to escape those type of guys. In my profile text wrote lofty bullshit about how I'm following my dreams and living in tune with my spiritual beliefs and they love it. Spirituality is like crack to chicks in Wellington so I take them on nature walks and cook for them on the beach, which also suit my budget :)

Between my pics where they see I'm a long haired hippy and my van which has LED lights and looks like an opium den from outside they somehow get the impression that I'm a casual low key kinda guy and probably won't follow them home or text them 20 times a day and they can't wait to come over and see what's inside.

I gotta be mindful of a few things, like parking near the gym so they can use my tag if they want to use the bathroom. I used to have a camper van and they are not down. Keep hand sanitiser and wet wipes and paper towels and shit around and that's about it. They fucking love it, I take them on drives, sometimes they stay a few days, we can easily go on trips into the bush or whatever.

A van will definatly be an asset in your capable hands bro, girls will love it. I don't have to compete with snowbirds or many rich people though, but in South America there's also good van culture and having a van instead of hotels and buses is soo much better. I did a van trip along the east coast of Australia and it was amazing. You can't do that kind lf thing on a bus or staying at hotels.

I can't remember if you've spoken about it before but you have a real good knowledge of the bodybuilders from back in the day. I was following the Dorian Yates program recently and he likes pre exhaust for legs and back as well.
Sweet man! What program of his did you try? I've heard every interview I could find with him over the years and read his journal he published and seen blood and guts but not any atcual programs. I love his entire approach. He works like how programmers do. The way he researches and tries things out is awesome, his whole attitude is awesome too. His new interviews are great too. He's into medical cannabis, yoga and cycling and taking his same approach to a bunch of different stuff.
Pre exhausting makes pretty good sense to me and I try and keep joint strain and stuff in mind. Pretty cool as a concept too :)

My gym has thing metal step so you can do standing calf raises in the smith machine. I noticed a while ago that one of the welds is splitting so I'm not game to use it. I need a decent load for calves due to all the work I did in the past.

Fair enough man! What are your thoughts on sitting vs standing calf raise machines? Should I do both? Do you just do them every leg day or more often?

Day 42: Needle Exchange Re-Up
Walked 26,153 steps so far. Walked to the doctors appointment at the methadone clinic and then into the city to the needle exchange. That was after my hour round trip to thr pharmacy to dose in the morning.

7 hours 56 mkns sleep, rem sleep seems good at 2 hr 7 minutes deep sleep at 1 hr 52 minutes.

Only had two coffees today, usually have over ten before lunchtime. Maybe it was three cups atcually, I will start logging them soon.

Doctors appointment went well, I'll try summarise instead of write it out:
  • Case manager agreed to get me hard copies of my baseline blood tests I did 7 weeks ago in the days leading up to my first testosterone Injection. I did testosterone levels test, liver and kidney function tests and got an ECG done. I also had a testosterone level test from 2 years ago when I first started trying to get on TRT. I will scan and post these to the forum as soon as I get them, and then go and get more from a private place I found. I can afford to get one a week at this on-demand place until I have them all.
  • I requested to stop taking Antabuse. I started taking it as part of the hospital detox program 2 years ago and then never stopped, the pharmacist juat gives it to me with my methadone every morning and i give it no thought, I wasn't using it as a crutch instead of spiritual work. I do not need it and it's liver toxic, that's why the government made me get all those blood tests done which I'm using personally as my baseline bloods proir to starting testosterone. They're atcually to see if the Antabuse is fucking my liver or the methadone fucking my heaet with the ECG. I've been meaning to do it for a while. I talked to my Mum and my 12 step sponsor @HarleyGuy and they agree. It would be really stupid to be still on that when I plan to start taking Anavar in the not too distant future.
  • Said they can script me more nicotine patches if I want but I'm gonna stop this month at the same time I stop coffee for three months on the suggestion of @toddthelineman which I've now thought about and think is a good plan. Thanks for that bro.
Then went to the Needle Exchange which was a good trip and we'll overdue. My dosing has not been spot on with the 3ml barrels lately.

Much closer to the .23ml I was aiming for:

Also reupped on eggs, bananas and apples and a few 95g cans of tuna that were on sale:

Hit 400g protein again today, shakes all on schedule.

So had a few carbs from two apples and a ripe banana a few hours prior to the gym.

Busy at the gym today.

I was 77.80kg on the scale.

Stairmaster for the whole 10 minute warmup is way more brutal than treadmill. I'm over the 10 attachment photo limit but have photographic evidence of this ten minutes on my phone.

Was a fairly calm workout tonight, not heaps of volume but I feel I sent a few muscles a message. Leg day from yesterday will hit tomorrow.

Shoulder Press

27kg x 12 did full rom and slow but still easy
32kg x 12 1 rir, got hard
32kg x 12 to failure

Dumbbell Shrugs

10kg x 12
16kg x 12
16kg x 12

Chest Press

36kg x 11.5 failed on last rep
32kg x 10
27kg x 10

Biceps Curl Machine

32kg x 12
32kg x 12

Nautilus Abdominal Crunch

23kg x 20
27kg x 20

Those made my abs really feel it. Gotta do those more regularly.

Feel really good tonight.

And sorry @waggat and @LevButlerov I forgot to take that side shot of myself until just now, I'll do it tomorrow 😀

I think the program was originally for bodybuilding.com but it's on YouTube. It's called Blood and Guts 6 week trainer. It's good because it has him training someone through the full thing. I did it exactly as described but added an extra warmup set to some exercises.

If you want to train calves seriously I think you need to do them at least twice a week. A lot of people say you can't improve calves much but to me that's BS as I did it. How I did it was: 3 times per week, two exercises each time, first exercise each work out, multiple sets to failure per exercise, final set had partials when you couldn't do anymore full reps. And when you finish the final set you need to be on the ground in agony clutching at your calves. Fun stuff.

Great update and glad you're ditching the anatabuse after our long chat about it.

One thing: don't listen to that pamphlet on quad injections at the top of your quad you're just asking for trouble. Go high and off centre to the side aroud your upper your vastus lateralis (google where that is if you want). Flex your entire upper quad and find the muscle to the right of your middle quad and pin high up off centre there. If you pin at the very top in the middle like the pamphlet shows you might have a shot one day where you're jumping off the bed after hitting a nerve or something in there that makes you fly off the chair.

With the micro injections you do as well the delt is an easy in and out.

I appreciate it man, thanks for your help

Haha yeah good spotting bro, the fill phamlet is just as vague, I think the diagram is the same atcually. You wrote me a list of instructions about the quad injections in the first couple of weeks and I followed them enough I can do the quad like you described on autopilot pretty much. Been getting my glutes mainly but the quad is so good when youre already sitting down haha

With the micro injections you do as well the delt is an easy in and out.

You mean the micro-needle retatrutide injections? I've only done them in skin fold fat like I took photos of the other night? Be interested to hear about the delt tho.

Oh no no I thought you were pinning your test in different places so I suggested IM in the delt for your Test.

The Reta should be in the fat, pinch an inch, and jab and plunge. Done and done brother.

what makes them trust you to go into the bush? that seems risky on their end. how do you put them at ease?

Hmm nah I don't think so man, maybe it's generally safer here. Only safety precaution I take is to meet them the first time at a public Cafe. You tell them exactly that on tinder but phrase it like it's for their safety too and they appreciate it.

But I don't think they have safety concerns otherwise. Else they wouldn't get into a van with a guy who lives at the park in the first place I guess 😂

Thanks bro 😀 I'm atcually trying to dial it in a bit and get a more tight schedule down but kinda approaching it bit by bit. Lately I've beem focusing on the bar-squats and assisted pullups and need pretty regular at squats twice a week and pullups three times. It is fun just going with the flow sometimes too though

Thanks bro 😀 I only just started doing shrugs bit I'm digging them. I can see their value easily, atcually seeks like a pretty big oversight leaving them out. The podcast is pretty much my main source of info outside of the forum and the textbook I have, I find listening to it everyday keeps your head in the game too 😀

Good pull staying structured with that workload and routine while balancing recovery and training. The shoulder press and chest press loads are solid for 77.8 kg bodyweight, and the clean diet with 400 g protein is laying strong groundwork for lean growth. That's why you looking better in the pics. :D

Dropping Antabuse makes sense given your liver focus before adding anavar, and your baseline labs will help track e2, liver, and renal function once the cycle starts. Keep warming up wrists and shoulders fully before pressing.
and maintain smaller pin volumes now that you’ve got 1 ml barrels for cleaner, more precise injections, if you can do ED stay with it. @vanlife_gymbum

@vanlife_gymbum I would never let my daughter get in a van like that with a stranger. And if I ever caught her doing that growing up I would take the guy by his long hippie hair and drag him out of the van and beat the crap out of him. It actually happened once when she came home late past her curfew I went outside and she was making out with a guy in his car and I yanked the guy out and gave him a few slaps. needless to say she never saw him again lol

I also like to mix up my arm day and some upper body work with abdominals as well. I feel like you get a nice effect that way. and it's good to finish the workout with some abdominal work regardless it helps keeping you really ripped @vanlife_gymbum

Else they wouldn't get into a van with a guy who lives at the park in the first place I guess 😂
it is signifcantly safer..

Women can be so strange. I worked the dating apps while I traveled for a long time. The algorithms favor you when you’re new to an area. It’s wild. I had an art teacher get me to sleep with her on our first and only date (I was gonna leave after dinner, wasn’t expecting her to be that thirsty lol, she was nice but I wasn’t really into it) but she never gave me her real phone number. It was some kind of app, so she would call me randomly and I wouldn’t know who it was.
So like, they don’t want a one night stand… unless you are going to straight up leave and never call them again? Actually being successful on dating apps isn’t good for you lol.

I think the program was originally for bodybuilding.com but it's on YouTube. It's called Blood and Guts 6 week trainer. It's good because it has him training someone through the full thing. I did it exactly as described but added an extra warmup set to some exercises.

This sounds fucking awesome man, I will try that for sure. How did it go for you man? Anything you'd recommend getting better at first? I'm planning on doing an 6 or 8 week run of 40mg of Avanar (continuing testosterone of course) in two months time and this would he perfect. Is it on those Hammer Strength machines in his own gym too? That would suit nicely as I have access to most those exact machines he had in his gym.

I never atcually tried but it would be a lot of work to extract a program from the texts I have from him or any of the Mike Mentzer stuff I have, like a book of transcripts of his lectures 😂 so thanks for this bro.

The way I see it is Mike Mentzer and Dorian Yates already interpreted all the previously existing stuff and I'm not smarter than them and just want to implement their findings.

Are you into Mike Mentzer too? He had that computer hacker approach too.

There's a guy on YouTube who knew him and still sells those yellow Heavy Duty shirts, I've talked to him directly, he's quite old now but still putting Mike Mentzer shit out which is good of him I think. Also possible he burgled mike's home and is slowly releasing what he stole haha

He did a video about 'mike mentzers book collection' where Mike had invited him over but then went and talked on the phone. Fuck I hate it when people do that but this guy either has a very impressive memory or sat down and wrote down all the books Mike had while he was on the phone 😂 he's got some great summaries of Mike's training methods too.

Thanks for all the encouragement and help man, definatly feel like I'm laying a good base 😀

Dropping Antabuse makes sense given your liver focus before adding anavar, and your baseline labs will help track e2, liver, and renal function once the cycle starts.

Very true man! Paperwork to stop probably be done by tomorrow so maybe today was my last dose. It'll be out of my system by the time I get the next bloods for my log. Got the list of e2, etc tests to get done you gave me 😀

Keep warming up wrists and shoulders fully before pressing.

Ah good reminder thanks bro. For shoulders should I do a really light set of 12 on the shoulder press, like 5kg pin, before doing my first set at the planned weight?

My warmups are basic, I do treadmill usually and make circles with my arms extended fully, starting with small circles for a minute, larger ones for a second minute and them bigger ones for a final minute. Then I can hold hands behind my back one over the shoulder and one under, Iock them together and hold for 30 seconds. I learnt this at rugby practice as a kid and it stayed in my memory

and maintain smaller pin volumes now that you’ve got 1 ml barrels for cleaner, more precise injections, if you can do ED stay with it. @vanlife_gymbum

Sweetas man, I haven't changed anything at all and still on ED test pins and EOD reta pins. It's just that it's hard to measure 0.23ml with a 3ml barrel haha

This log is my first and will be three months of testosterone and retatrutide. I'm not going to change this plan as it will add new variables and make my bloods test way less useful to the forum as there would be other stuff affecting the results with no way to tell what did what.

I also wouldn't be able to get a feel for testosterone by itself. Outside of the lifting stuff the testosterone itself is vital to me. Now I've experienced the symptoms of low testosterone over the past three years I've been on methadone and also found how to cure it, I can't go back.

Apart from the first week with AUStarLabs gear I have been using the same testosterone and retatrutide from Life Forge (@SaintSoup) who provided me with the gear to do this log so I want my blood test results for that to be free of interference from other random stuff and just testosterone.

Also my training is not tight enough to start a cycle yet. I'm in a good place and very happy with how things are going, but when I start Anavar I want everything planned out so I can go for it. I'm evaluating different ideas and will float to the forum for feedback soon but just found out about a 6 week course from Dorian Yates I wasn't aware of thanks to @waggat. I might end up saving that for winter if it doesnt make sense for my summer plan but either way, I'm dead keen to try that out.

But I also know I've mentioned Anavar and GW Cardirine seemingly out of the blue lately becuse I've been researching and so I'll just tell you and the guys my loose plan so you don't worry I'm just randomly changing stuff.

The three month test and reta only cycle is gonna be completed uninterrupted 😀

On the podcast dating back to the pre-Spotify ones @stevesmi mentions Equipoise quite a lot and why he loves it and it just kept popping up again and again and I'm pretty keen on trying it.

My 12 weeks of Sports TRT+ has 7 more weeks which will be close to the start of summer. I will be have been off Caffine, Nicotine and Antabuse for over a month by then and will drop to 125mg TRT for three or four weeks, do some fasting runs and other recovery stuff in those weeks, make sure I have everything ready in advance.

I'm planning on buying the stuff for the cycle little by little as I can afford it and saving up so it's all ready once I'm good to start in summer.

My current thoughts are:
  • 400mg Testosterone weekly
  • 400mg Equipoise weekly
  • 40mg Avavar daily
Nowhere near set in stone though. Once I have the pre-testosterone blood results and new ones done privately I'm going to have a consultation with @stevesmi to go over my results and plan before I start.

Yup, I'm on board with this approach LOL.

Does sound like a nice fantasy yeah. I'm thankful I had a son instead, I dunno how I'd feel about it.

I'm 40 though and date woman my own age, I'd hope they don't have to get their dads blessing 😂

Watch out for armed hippies though @Ulter, they can get a bit stabby around bad manners.

I really liked the program. Really it's just a fairly typical 4-way split with lower than normal volume. I think it's really good for learning to push yourself.... With such a low volume you need to go all out on that top set.

As I mentioned, I added a set to most exercises as an extra warmup / so the jumps in weight between sets weren't so big (gotta be careful when you get old).

If I was you, I would probably go with something that allows a higher frequency for the time being. Something like a push / pull / legs done 6 days a week. Allows each muscle to be hit twice a week. I put my good gains in my first year or two of training down to higher frequency. Also, I think one all out top set is ok for more experienced people but for less experience then two top sets to failure (after ramping up weight).

I haven't got in to Mike Mentzer TBH. He seems a bit to extreme in his views for me. Like fair enough promote a certain method but hard to argue against other methods given most use them.

Thanks for all the encouragement and help man, definatly feel like I'm laying a good base 😀

Yes, do a light warmup set for shoulders at roughly 50% of your first working weight for 12–15 reps to prime the joints before hitting your 3x8–12 sets. Your dynamic warmup from rugby is solid, just add band pull-aparts or face pulls for 2x15 to get rear delts and cuffs engaged.

That test and retatrutide setup makes sense, 0.23 ml is tough on a 3 ml barrel so grab 1 ml pins for more accuracy. The plan to keep the 3-month cycle clean is smart, and the test 400 mg + EQ 400 mg + Anavar 40 mg combo for summer is a solid but I would mod test to eq dose.
400mgs testosterone
200mgs equipoise
20mgs anavar
you want to look at 2:1 test:eq generally. @vanlife_gymbum

Okay awesome, I'll look into face Pulls and band pull-aparts at the gym tonight, I've not heard of them. If it's not busy I'm going to try and do 5 minutes on the rowing machine... haven't used one of those in years and they look cool. Then do atcual rows 😀

Thanks man I'll keep that in mind. Still got months to figure that out, been researching that topic pretty much exclusively haha.

Perfect plan, the rower will warm your back and shoulders without stressing the wrist. Face pulls and band pull-aparts are great for cuff strength, so 3x15 each before rows will help you keep pressing pain-free long term. :D

No, thanks man! That looks like exactly what I'm looking for. I did notice that todays podcast release is about the topic though! Pretty good timing 😀

I'm about to go to the gym and listen to it:

I agree with this in general and almost recommend a 1.2-2:1 Test:Eq ratio depending on the person, their goals, and their usage history.

In your case you're new to different compounds so you can start with 2:1 like Lev said and go from their. If I add more EQ than 2:1 it slam crushes my e2. Plan to run the EQ for a while, like 16 weeks so you'll need two vials at 300mg/ml. You'll like the test/eq trust me.

Day 43: Lats, Face-Pulls & Rows

Light walking day today, 13,595.

6 hours 38 minutes sleep with 1 hour 52 of rem

Slightly lighter than yesterday:

Screenshot_20251008-230318_Gallery.webp

Shakes on schedule, had a banana in one afternoon shake and an apple and can of tuna.

I got a bottle of apple cider vinegar which @HarleyGuy mentions a lot. It was pretty rough in the shake so I might copy his taking a swig before something else technique next time.

My Dad is making me a bucket of sourkraut too.

Also got given my 56 Thiamine and 56 government standard issue multivitamins by the pharmist this morning:

Screenshot_20251008-230247_Gallery.webp

5lbs tubs of Optimum Nutrition Gold whey protien powder are no longer on sale and I paid $179 for another banana flavored tub. The rest of that awful cookies and cream one is now backup. Strongly recommend avoiding that product, I can't even guess who the target market is.

After gym memberships I have $4 left until next week but I don't need anything further. Another bottle of testosterone and retatrutide is due soon 😀

I had to back load the syringe this morning but I can't for the life of me remember what the reason was. This morning seems like yesterday and in 50 minutes it will be.

Just finished row day and I'm in the bathroom with my phone plugged in. Nice private R18 all to myself bathrooms. Third time in today, had a long shower one time and charged my phone in the massage chair room the other.

Step one is easy, you just take the plunger out of thr target barrel and squirter stuff into it:

Screenshot_20251008-230224_Gallery.webp

Step 2 is slightly more tricky where you have to press the plunger against the end bit not push it in else the pressure will make the nectar shoot out the needle end, whole holding it there tip the whole thing upside down until it's dripped down and not at the tip end anymore.

As soon as you see the tip is free or an acceptable loss amount gently 'pop' it into the barrel and keep upside down until all down the plunger end:

Then at quarter to ten at night I went to the gym.

It was busy but all good.

Couldn't warm up on the stairmaster because they were both occupied by buxom big bottom beauties and I dared not interrupt. Felt my testosterone or something increase in their presence, and to change floors and tried the cardio rowing machine for 5 minutes.

Damn that's some different cardio... could really gas yourself out on that thing.

Prior to leaving for the gym I consulted my text book to look up cable face-pulls recommend by @LevButlerov to incorporate into my warmup routine for shoulders

I took a few notes on arm position from the book but seemed straight forward enough.

I used the really nice new Nautilus cable station and tried a few arm positions and different heights for the cable.

Position one:

5kg x 15
7.5kg x 15

Shifted the cable holder down from rung number 18 to rung 16 and did the final set:

Did these at controlled speed and full rom:

Trying to go a bit heavier than on the last machine:

40kg x 12 with 3 rir, they got heavy
40kg x 12
40kg x 12 to failure

Nautilus Lat Pull Down

46kg x 12
46kg x 12
50kg x 12 2 rir

Dumbbell Shrugs

I did super-sets between the shrugs and biceps curl machine with 10 secs rest 💪

Got the heart beating like crazy but my watch is charging in the bathrooms....

16kg x 12
16kg x 12 really felt that after!
16kg x 12 and I feel a new burning sensation around my neck... feels good I think just new

Nautilus Biceps Curl Machine

32kg x 12
36kg x 12 public grunting and failure
36kg x 12 last 4 were partial reps

Wanted to do Ab Crunches on the machine but too knackered.

There's over 10 people at the gym and it's 11pm... word is getting out...

Muscles feel good.

Body feels good.

Mood is good.

I feel alive.

I got a bottle of apple cider vinegar which @HarleyGuy mentions a lot. It was pretty rough in the shake so I might copy his taking a swig before something else technique next time. My Dad is making me a bucket of sourkraut too.
Oh God bro, don't ruin your shake. Just take a swig before your meal and suffer... and make sure you tell yourself you love it. The solution is in the pain of it, and the solution to all problems is in the pain. Everytime I take a swig my girl knows I just did she can hear me, and I love it. I actually look forward to it now it reminds me of a bad tequila shot at 2am when the bar is closing.

And look at you backloading.... becoming a pro already! Love it.

Awesome, thanks for this bro, especially useful information about that e2 crash. And thanks for the advice too @LevButlerov - I'll process this all and get back to you guys. Sounds like a great plan though 😀

View attachment 126459

View attachment 126456

Then started with leg curl which burnt from the first set

Leg Curl

View attachment 126469
36kg x 12
36kg x 12
41kg x 12
41kg x 12

@vanlife_gymbum definitely leaning out bro!

Thanks bro 😀 I only just started doing shrugs bit I'm digging them. I can see their value easily, atcually seeks like a pretty big oversight leaving them out. The podcast is pretty much my main source of info outside of the forum and the textbook I have, I find listening to it everyday keeps your head in the game too 😀
You certainly love to throw around the iron.

@vanlife_gymbum Your new avatar pic looks amazing bro you can really see the obliques forming and the body fat coming off. Keep up the amazing work brother!

Thanks a lot bro! that would be the start of week 5, but really week 2 with the 20 eggs and shake plan, it seemed like a switch flicked or something around then. Like that gut and tit combo survived month long food-less crack benders and all sorts, I really thought they would be permanent but now I think if I can keep lifting the same and add the 6:15am cardio assault bike group class they will be gone in a month 😀

Did you see @toddthelineman interview episode got released yesterday

Reminds me of a buddy. Fat, long haired hippy. Boxed since he was six, all the way into his teens. He’s a really nice guy, but I’ve seen him drop a few dudes that tried to get rowdy. Quite entertaining.

The contrast is awesome

This happens in Australia all the time, and not just with hippies. Going from thinking from that guy looks friendly to holy shit that's the third knife fight I've seen this week is pretty common 🤣

Yes bro I'm super happy to see you went with that advice to just go all in on the protein and eggs. And hell yes I've got @toddthelineman cued up to listen in my Bronco in about 10 mins. I gotta blast now but I'll be back tonight!

If I was you, I would probably go with something that allows a higher frequency for the time being. Something like a push / pull / legs done 6 days a week. Allows each muscle to be hit twice a week. I put my good gains in my first year or two of training down to higher frequency.

Yeah bro I think you're right too. And that's what I was aiming for too, or some type of 3 on 1 off system too. Also that's how it went with the PT thankfully. I thought something like Stronglifts would be a simple way to start but only the program is simple not the lifts, I'm glad I started with machines and my PT always did most things in 3 sets of 12.

Thanks for your advice man. I feel like I'm coming to some of the same conclusions as you as I experience more.

Also, I think one all out top set is ok for more experienced people but for less experience then two top sets to failure (after ramping up weight).

I agree with you bro, I think one thing that's lost on lots of people especially tiktok lifters is that it's an advanced concept and program. I mean it's Dorian Yates' program right? Most people are not Dorian Yates in any sense. He doesn't make that super clear himself but the screaming for death from the leg press I thought would have given it away.

Mike offers disclaims in Heavy Duty tho, he says this is an advanced training method and you should go away for a few years and follow a beginner then intermediate program then come back and that "any program will do"

I haven't got in to Mike Mentzer TBH. He seems a bit to extreme in his views for me. Like fair enough promote a certain method but hard to argue against other methods given most use them.

People say lots of shit about him, likely because he was smarter than them but not everyone was fooled. Thankfully Dorian Yates wasnt, and most of Mike and his high-intensity predecessor's core philosophy is in Blood and Guts also so you're not missing out. You will maybe come away thinking differently if you listened to his lectures or material directly though. There's archives on github.com if you search.

I’m not sure guns are so bad. Seems like the rest of the world is awfully stabby hahaha. I’ve never seen a stabbing. I’ve been shot at and I can’t count how many people I know who have been shot at least once. No one pulls a knife first it’s always a last resort. It’s either fists or someone is gonna maybe die and all hell breaks loose. But that’s just my observation and I have gotten really good at… staying safe hahahaha

Haha yeah Aussies are shit with guns just like Americans are shit with blades. When I OD'd I was in a coma about 48 hours, in that time the police had been notified of my OD, saw I had a gun license, came to the ER and got my wallet out of my pocket and took my gun license and wrote me a note saying I need to hand my gun in.

In American movies people always threaten others with knifes. This is the wrong move big time. The first indication you may have a blade should be a slight sting under the ribcage.

Yeah you can tell he's smart. I've only seen bits and pieces of his stuff, like little clips here and there. I like a lot of what he says but then some of it not so much. Like I'm sure I've heard him say about just a single set for a muscle group and also about training a muscle only every 7-10 days or something.

Ate half a big 400ish gram can of tuna and will have the rest when I get back from the gym. I started putting rock salt in it and it's better.

Back-loaded the pick again so I injected with a fresh sharp tip but I hate doing this with a 0.23ml dose.

I'm gonna try @toddthelineman method of preloading a big syringe and just changing the tip.

I initially was hesitant but it atcually makes good sense, will somewhat solve my wastage problem, I couldn't get those RDS reduced deadspace tips someone here recommended.

I can get around my accuracy concerns by preloaded the weekly amount precisely and then trying to get about .23 a day and if I'm off it'll still add up to the correct weekly dose.

Calling my workout a high volume day is a bit of a stretch so well go with light leg day.

I was hoping to do only bar-squats but the rack was surprisingly popular.

Lots of girls do squat variations but also do some sort of hip thruster shit there too. So I ended up doing a few other things and half gassed myself out on the stairmaster first.

Did ten minutes on the stairmaster at intensity level 7 and was sweating like crazy after. Takes 15 minutes just to start sweating on the treadmill.

Machine said my heart got to 147bpm.

Leg Extensions

Doing light sets until the square rack is free

23kg x 12
23kg x 12
23kg x 12

Leg Curls

Dude is doing drop sets of squats. Went from 80kg to 60kg and did reps of each

23kg x 12
23kg x 12
27kg x 12

Bar-Squats with Bench

Said hello to squat guy, turns out he's been off training for six months and first night back tonight. His face was red and pouring with sweat. Safe to say he was going pretty hard.

Been using a plate on the floor still and beem trying @stevesmi recommendation to try put a bench behind you from this episode.

I got through:

Bar x 12
Bar x 12
Bar x 12
Bar x 12 getting real hard at the end
Bar x 12
Bar x 12

Didn't feel like I did as much as I was planning to but I sweated a lot more than usual.

She gave me this new anabolic steriod pocket injection reference! Incase you get excited and can't wait until you get home and run straight to the public toilets next door to pin up right away you can take this in your pocket:

So good to have the 1ml barrels again. I'll worry about that wastage problem another time.

Much closer to the .23ml I was aiming for:

As a carnivore I am proud of your 400g protein 💪

As a carnivore I am proud of your 400g protein 💪

Thanks bro 😀 but to be honest I was only hitting 200 on my mince and eggs carnivore diet. Been on and off carnivore for about 7 years and it works so good for me but I think my version was more high fat than high protein.

Adding the eggs to the shakes makes it a lot more natural and nourishing. I can literally feel the eggs healing me like lots of meat did initially.

Day 44: Light Leg Day

Ate half a big 400ish gram can of tuna and will have the rest when I get back from the gym. I started putting rock salt in it and it's better.

View attachment 127615

Good light leg session given the short sleep, you still got quality movement and kept volume in the mix. The bar squats with the bench setup are a smart call when energy is low and form needs control, keep those slow and deep next session to build back strength. :D

The 0.23 ml preload plan is fine as long as you measure the weekly total carefully and switch to a fresh tip each time.
Stay on your usual macros and bump sodium a bit since the stairmaster and sweat loss were high today. I like you're keeping this diet strong! @vanlife_gymbum

Heavy Leg Day @ Nautilus Gym

I was going to do heavy leg day at thr big gym but it was absolutely packed and I couldn't be assed socialising tonight so went to the R18 gym, there's a leg press and squat rack there at least so it'll be all good.

Warmup

5 minutes treadmill, speed 6.4 then 5 minutes stairmaster at intensity level 6, a truely evil invention. Gonna switch to this instead of treadmill from now on.

Scaling stairs is a super useful skill and when there's stairs there's usually shit loads of stairs:

46kg x 12 1 rir

Leg Press

I just realised this Nautilus Leg Press starts at the opposite part of the movement to the Hammer Strength plate machines.

82kg x 12

Definitely leaning out nicely 💪

Okay man I'll do that thanks. Not sure what's up with the sleep. I don't have any MC left, it might be that. Ended up not sleeping last night which kinda sucks because I had a pretty good thing going last week. Gonna take a rest day today. Done 8k steps just on bum duties so that's something haha.

Thanks a lot man, I'll add some more sodium. Do you just use salt for that? I've been adding big pinches to tuna like last night, but not eating that very often now on this diet 😀

I bought some quality sea salt and pink salt and mixed them together in a glass jar, could I add a pinch of that to the shakes?

Yes that’s fine, add a pinch of the sea and pink salt mix to your shakes. It’ll help with sodium and keep fluid balance steady while you’re training hard.

If sleep stays rough, take 1 full rest day and hit steps only. Keep carbs around training higher for a bit, 50–60 g pre and post, and drop caffeine after noon. Lets see if it helps.
Do you have the budget for magnesium and zinc supplements? @vanlife_gymbum

Day 47: Carbs, Girls, Steam Ships

I missed posting an update yesterday for the first time in ages. I can't power my computers at the moment and been using my phone for everything which sucks. I spent the day finishing my guide to the New Zealand Needle Exchange Program for the NZ sources sub forum on which was difficult on the phone and I couldn't face writing a log entry, and I haven't done much else.

My Antabuse script expired yesterday so today I didn't get dosed at the pharmacy. I atcually don't know much about it apart from it being liver toxic and the countless stories I've heard in 12-step meetings of people attempting to drink through it. My own father has a pretty good one of his own from when he quit drinking in the 80s.

I just wouldn't have started it if I wanted to keep drinking, like I avoided methadone for a decade because it would screw up my herion tolerance then I'd to spend more and that was a line that represented more than I can handle. I was a director at a big-four finance company at the time, and was already spending everything. At the time it seemed smart to not take methadone and keep my tolerance in check 😂

Antabuse was part of the hospital detox program and I'm glad I did it, but I should have stopped after a few months. I never think about either alcohol or antabuse, I go to the pharmacy every morning and they hand me a pill with one hand and liquid methadone with the other and I wash the Antabuse down with the methadone and that's it.

But lately I've been occupying my time researching and planning for my first stacked cycle this rapidly approaching summertime and am going to include an oral which made me start thinking about my liver. It would be foolish to take a livertoxic steriod on top of liver toxic prescription meds too.

Other preparations are to cease nicotine completely which will take some strain off my heart. I'm on month five of the NZ governments six month patch and gum program and tomorrow will go into the pharmacy and get 7mg patches for the last stretch.

I also plan to quit caffine/coffee for three months at the suggestion of @toddthelineman which I'm now fully on board with. I made a pros and cons list last Sunday sipping a long black espresso in one of Wellington's alternative cafes and knew I'd never be able to cut it out of my life.

Coffee survived the pros and cons list, not a single girlfriend has made it through one of those before. I decided I did not want to quit, it's greater than health in this case. Cafes are where I catch up with my parents and sister, where I meet business associates, where I meet Tinder dates the first time to make them feel safer, where I would go to read books if I had any money.

But I'm not doing any of that at the moment and in the case of the Todd's three month suggestion the pros outweigh the cons.

I've never attempted this before, I've had caffeine every day since on was 12, execpt for first two days in Japan in 2005 before I found out green tea is loaded with the shit and the two days I was in a coma in 2021.

Green tea gets you wired to Japanese specifications, they drink a whole 2L bottle every day at work. These are the people who invented methamphetimine and they know how to get wired.

On the second day in Japan I got a migraine for the first and only time and I'm worried about that happening again so I'm going to taper with caffine pills after I finish the last of my instant coffee which will be not far away.

Sticking with the program has worked with nicotine and that was a far more powerful addition.

I took a rest day yesterday due to getting no sleep the night before, and 5 hours the night before that. It was pouring with rain and galeforce winds working on the ship today and I was already wet and cold from the 5km walk there. Should really ask someone for a jumpstart so I can drive again.

The boiler engineer wasn't there who I was planning on helping in the boiler room and a new South American girl started volunteering today so I found her a locker and helped her pick overalls and caught her full on ogling me.

I was distracted (by Evo and plugging my phone in to listen to more Evo) and could feel her looking at me but I persisted with the phone..

I don't think this has ever happened with a stranger before outside of my imagination. I have to at least make eye contact and smile and talk to them...

After what seemed like two minutes I could still feel her looking at me still and when I finally looked over I caught her off guard, she was fully eye-raping me, biting her lip and everything... she got startled and embarrassed, it was awesome.

So Im starting to see there is clear benefits to showering every day... just kidding, she must have sensed the testosterone.

Screenshot_20251012-091503_Gallery.webp

I thought @LevButlerov had been on the pipe when he first mentioned this to me but now I believe it. Woman have remote testosterone level sensors, it's amazing.

I only need one guess for what she's gonna be thinking about later.

People are friendlier to me in general too and I know it's not just me because I've always tried to have these friendly interactions with strangers, say hi when out walking, look people in the eye and smile, etc.. with you know, maybe a 70% success rate maybe but now it's wild, this couple with two Rottweilers were so keen to continue one of these interactions they followed me up the road until they'd made sure I heard their commentary on recent weather pattern changes.

I cannot lose focus now though, I'm not going to spend time with any new woman until half way through my cycle in summertime, else I might fuck this all up.

The nice old lady who feeds us carbs on the ship didn't like my walking in the rain and insisted she drive me home, robbing me of 7.5k steps but very nice of her, totals looked like this:

Im behind on a retatrutide dose and it's wearing off. I decided to take advantage of it and eat a bit. Four of these quarter sandwiches

And a few fistfuls of tomato, carrot and cheese and four oranges.

I had big plans to go to the gym, then at 7pm I made a big pot of rice so I can up my carbs as @LevButlerov instructed me to do in response to the sleepless night and it made me so sleepy I decided to bail and go to bed right then.

Also been salting up my shakes per his suggestion

But as the effects of the rice started wearing off and I thought about all that happened today I got a surge of energy and drive returned. Stayed at the gym until 1am. There was a girl who did leg stiff with cables for the whole two hours and two giant Maori guys that looked like Johnah Lomu and clearly played Rugby and they were fucking strong. I no longer wish I had the gym to myself, it's cool being around these people who are grinding at the gym at midnight 💪

I have been researching and planning out my summer cycle pretty much exclusively the last few weeks. I've listened to every podcast episode related to the compounds I'm interested in, even ones about stacks I'm not interested in that contain one I am, don't make the mistake of thinking there won't be information of use in them.

There have been some big question marks, the biggest being not knowing where to get legitimate equipoise and turinabol. I got some good news today and this is no longer an issue.

The ball is back in my court where I want it, so it's up to me to make the next move. I've got just over two and a half months to save up the stack and have a plan to achieve it.

There's some great ideas for those not in a position to buy their entire stack in one go in these episodes:

I can't cheap out on gear, I need legit gear and willing to pay the normal price for it I just need to get one thing every week until I have it all. I have figured out a workable plan and now the souring issue is gone. This self-trt thing would fall apart quick if we couldn't get clean testosterone.

I'm very pleased with this development and that was motivation enough to put my clothes back on and go to the gym.

Scale moving now, used to not move, ever.

Lines up with switch to the Stairmaster. Machine said my heart got to 169bpm this time, nearly 15 minutes and I was dripping sweat

I got into a conversation about super sets with @2G2B after I noticed in his log he did the same set of exercises I did in the order, but I was doing that because the machines are all in a row:

Screenshot_20251012-090650_Gallery.webp

I do this when the gym is quite. One set on each machine going one to the next with 30 seconds rest. Three laps, add 30 seconds rest each lap:

Nautilus Biceps Curl Machine

27kg x 12 seemed much easier than usual
32kg x 12
36kg x 12 very hard, last 3 reps noisy

Nautilus Chest Press

27kg x 12 not easier than usual
27kg x 12 easier this set
32kg x 11 to failure

Nautilus Shoulder Press

27kg x 12
32kg x 12
36kg x 12 0.5 rir

That's me for tonight.

I was thinking this about you, it’s a big part of your life to have a place like that
cease nicotine completely which will take some strain off my heart.
I’ve had a patch on recently. My hs crp was 3.0.

That’s up from 1.1 with zero nicotine.
South American girl started volunteering today
Ok ok, I’m already getting spammed for tickets to NZ already. I can meet my Argentinean queen there, probably easier than navigating her brothers and jealous lovers at home

Women are quite distracting

Oh man I forgot about that 😂 they're pretty exotic here and I usually admire them from afar but that could have been a fatal move. Sure it would be much harder for me to avoid their traps if my country was literally joined to theirs haha.

Now I have a continuous heart rate monitor I've been playing with the patches and they elevate my sleeping heart rate by 10bpm...

What a great fucking day.
That was an awesome read, you’ve got a real storytelling rhythm going and the level of detail makes it feel like we’re right there following along. You’re really in the zone, and the steady cardio plus those stairmaster sessions are clearly paying off. :D @vanlife_gymbum and of course I see eggs shakes in there.

That NZ Needle Exchange thread you put together was gold! deep and genuinely helpful for people who don’t know how to navigate that system. You’ve turned your own experience into something that’ll help a lot of lifters and TRT users in the EVO family.
Keep logging like this, it’s turning into one of the most useful journal in our family, for sure the most detailed, big love your way!

That was an awesome read, you’ve got a real storytelling rhythm going and the level of detail makes it feel like we’re right there following along.

Keep logging like this, it’s turning into one of the most useful journal in our family, for sure the most detailed, big love your way!

I'm glad you liked it bro 😀 I'll keep doing the following along thing for sure, basically I make a new Day X note file in my notes app (Obsidian, free opensource OneNote clone) and write things in real time as I do them and then paste to Evo and standardise the tense the grammar.

Based on that discussion and podcast episode about templates and highlighting logging changes I have made my own but it's not very easy to do on my phone whereas rambling comes naturally. @Mobster was complaining about not having enough yo do in the morning and some logs only having five paragraphs of text as an into so I'm trying to step up. I understood very well what @HarleyGuy was trying to tell/show us with his colour highlighting method, as this is heavily used in computer programming and I remember the time before it was which was near impossible to track quickly. The issue I'm having is I'm super colourblind and also use my phone in dark mode to save my eyes and so what looks awesome to me might be real silly to everyone else. I'll get feedback from HG when I'm ready.

But in addition to that I want to have a format so everyone can take it how they want and discard the rest. The stats and raw numbers from my tracker watch and notebook are always in the same place, so you can just ignore the text and go there if you want.

Some replies I see from experienced guys in other people's logs really blow me away, like how from exercise lists that are just of set numbers to me painting a whole picture in theirs so they understand exactly what it was like, how hard, etc just from those numbers. I can't do that and that's why my stuff is so long and rambling. I hope to become more succinct as I get better and more experience myself.

Have sleep and steps at the top and workout routine at the bottom. The pictures are in the order I took them, from morning pin, shakes, food, training at night so if @BodyMonster34 gets a new batch of hooch from his son he can follow my day through the pictures and still understand what I did.

So will still be in story format with pictures as usual but I'll template up and standardise the workouts, stats and numbers, etc with new or important info highlighted or formatted with colour.

Other reason I want to do this is I myself find it difficult to find things from past entries. I tried to find my before pictures from week 2 but couldn't after 10 pages of scrolling and I knew I took it the 2nd Saturday logging here based on the public bathroom I was in. If I had a bit more standaidation I can easily make an index to search too.

But I'm really glad some people are into it and will definatly keep doing it 😄

You’re really in the zone, and the steady cardio plus those stairmaster sessions are clearly paying off. :D @vanlife_gymbum and of course I see eggs shakes in there.

They've been upgraded to salty egg-shakes now thanks to your influence! once I get some @HarleyGuy collegen powder in there I think they'll be near complete. I recently adopted his swig of apple cider technique and really hoping there's some eventual pay-off from that, they failed to make it onto the shake ingredient list spectacularly 😂 my Dad is making me some sourkraut soon too for gut health/digestion stuff, that's on my list of things to learn and I know it's an area you are an expert in, I've got a todo list of ideas I took from your advice to others.

That NZ Needle Exchange thread you put together wasgold! deep and genuinely helpful for people who don’t know how to navigate that system. You’ve turned your own experience into something that’ll help a lot of lifters and TRT users in the EVO family.

I really appreciate that thanks bro. The support I get from Evo is unreal, I've been in various underground scenes and subcultures since the 90s and have never encountered anything like it and want to do what I can to help and support the forum and especially help get the New Zealand sub forum better. There's only a few of us and I atcually have never talked to one source and their loggers but can see there's multiple kiwi Evo bothers doing their bit and sources trying to get themselves verified to regular Evo standards and I think that will be a game changer.

When I mentioned you can get free Cialis from the government from any pharmacy three lurkers with no post history DMed me with questions about it 😂 so I'll write that one up for the forum.

Also never encountered someone like you Lev! I wouldn't know where to start with how much your advice has helped me, I'm nearly post-chewing! and am close to reaching enlightenment in the realm of fat loss on my own body 😆

View attachment 128539

I do this when the gym is quite. One set on each machine going one to the next with 30 seconds rest. Three laps, add 30 seconds rest each lap:

32kg x 12
36kg x 12 very hard, last 3 reps noisy

Nautilus Chest Press

What a great fucking day.
Great log and great stories brother!

They've been upgraded to salty egg-shakes now thanks to your influence! once I get some @HarleyGuy collegen powder in there I think they'll be near complete. I recently adopted his swig of apple cider technique and really hoping there's some eventual pay-off from that, they failed to make it onto the shake ingredient list spectacularly 😂 my Dad is making me some sourkraut soon too for gut health/digestion stuff, that's on my list of things to learn and I know it's an area you are an expert in, I've got a todo list of ideas I took from your advice to others.

That’s exactly how a log should evolve. Your method keeps it readable and valuable for everyone following along. Writing in real time keeps it authentic and the detail makes your posts stand out. Even the long parts add insight for anyone learning.
I will be honest I take at least 3 takes to read your log to make sure I don't miss things and follow up that's what makes it interesting. :D @vanlife_gymbum

The structured format plan with consistent sections is a strong move. Easy to follow too.
Since color coding is tough for you, use simple symbols or short headers to make it clean and searchable.

The salty egg shakes and ACV swigs show full commitment, and your work on the EVO NZ sub is huge. Keep that momentum going, you’re helping shape something special in the EVO family, I truly think we can get the NZ EVO family really huge!

EVO family love and support your way!

Yes I try and make log easy to read and a little more fun to see and absorb and not just 'boring' essays. The colouring, bold, underlining etc., it helps people have some structure to what they're reading and the things you want to stand out or that you want to emphasize is new information you can add colour. Like yours for example, it's got a bit of everything!

Your log actually is a perfect read for me, I can go through the points fast. :D some logs takes me at least 5min :P

Totally man, after reading a few of yours you basically know thr format and then every new one can be read really nicely. Just scrolling up and down within one of your entries to reread or get a number again is ten times easier than usual, I think it's the best format and templating will also make it easier for the guy writing the log. If I get you or someone to help with the colours one time then I'll just repeat from the template 😀

Absolutely. I was actually looking through my log last night from page 1 to the middle and you can see how I slowly learned how to end up with the template I stuck with. My final touch was making my entire gear stack both weekly and the T/DHT/19-Nor breakdown in small font because no one wants to read that every single time but for any newcomer at least it's there.

I always try and imagine someone brand new to the board just clicking on my log on the last page because they don't wanna start from the beginning and making it easy for them to follow from day 1 by having the nuts and bolts in there referring back to day 1 to a degree.

True! I noticed the the progression in your log too, guess that's how it's suppost to go!
I'm hoping to have my template nailed by summertime and was going to close this one cleanly after I get bloodtests and start a new one for the summer cycle with the template right out of the gate.

I've been working on a little program that iterates through all posts in my log thread and all the ones that aren't message replies it assumes are log entires not comments and saves to a second file. I need to add to it so it gets the date to add as a heading, like 'Entry 6, 6th sept' and then add a table of contents at the top with these dates and the title I have the entry. Then save it as a webpage/html file and a PDF, stick it somewhere then put a link in my signature to Month 1, Month q, Month 3 and if a newbie clicked it they could read all entries from that month. The entries in that new file link back to Evo and have the reply buttons still and if you click them you're back on ago replying to that entry on the real forum.
That's why I want a new log for each cycle, to try and keep the data useful. This current one is retatrutide and testosterone only and a first log, so I think when it's done and I've done all the blood tests and everything it's kind of complete and will be useful for me to refer back to too, as I know all the variables that need to be accounted for and there's not a bunch of compounds muddying the waters.

That is really nice atcually, I didn't realise that was the reason but it's a good idea and I'll copy that too when I have a stack to report - could start doing that with my supplements, that's one thing I don't log very well.

I always try and imagine someone brand new to the board just clicking on my log on the last page because they don't wanna start from the beginning and making it easy for them to follow from day 1 by having the nuts and bolts in there referring back to day 1 to a degree.

That's awesome man, I also noticed you're real active with new members as they join and man some guys get it good just turning up and getting all that! I always wonder if it's the first place they tried and think thats just normal or if they're at the end of a long and painful journey through the bowels of awful non-Evo scam sites and forums like I was.

When I have some more bandwidth I'd like to template up some of my newbie replies that were useful too, and podcast episode lists. I don't have experience with almost anything steriod related but I'm on this same path of research, trial and error too and the podcast was so core to my research that I have a pretty good idea of what they've covered so what I'm trying to do now is to link them to the podcast episodes about their exact questions so Stevesmi and Mobster are answering their questions not me.

Not sure if you already work from notes or made template for this but your instructions to newbies with diet stuff and peptide dosing questions are gold. You have a few topics I'd say you're an underground expert in and that's high value shit imho.

What a great fucking day.
This is one of the best updates I've seen in a while. @vanlife_gymbum You did a lot of stuff. It's actually very impressive how you dedicate your time.

bros you a big part of EVO family. good to see this update. the bum life has its perks @vanlife_gymbum
Thanks a lot bro 😀 I really appreciate the support you give me too man. I've been chipping away at writing a little program that checks the few guys like yourself, @ballin2504 and @2Thick who have their logs on Anabolix or one of the other family forums because I don't get notifications when you post new entires and I feel bad about missing so many of them. I basically manually click the link the forum signature when I see your comment replies.
