@LevButlerov Brother man, I was so sore from the last couple of lifts, that I couldn’t get comfortable.
I got 7 hours last night. It felt pretty good
I am traveling to Virginia next Tuesday for a couple of days to spend several days with a friend. That has got me a bit worked up as well. Haven’t seen her for about a year.

Impressive dedication! Keep up the hard work, looking forward to seeing your cycle log.
Hopefully I will be ready in January for a good clean lean bulk. I am excited to map it out and present it for critique.

If you're really sore, I would take time off and recover at least 2 days. :D @MarkNV
enjoy the trip post some pics

Good high protein rest day :D
@LevButlerov today felt really good, but I found myself pacing because I didn’t get that morning pump. I know in my head and heart that recovery is so important….until you need to do it. I can’t wait to get back in there tomorrow morning

Gotta have a well rounded set of legs
I like the feeling the next day. You will understand, at this age, stretching is so important and it makes the workout payoff…I hope I said that right. It seems that when I stretch immediately after the workout, the results are better. Well rounded legs!!!

Good morning!! Today has had a great start.
I woke up a bit earlier than usual and listened to @HarleyGuy part II.
I listened and had a bit of coffee, and I am going to be honest, listening really made me look back on my last 21 years. I got a bit emotional. The story about @Wheels85 was inspiring, HarleyGuy was inspiring, the truth was inspiring. So now I am on a treadmill, doing what we do, and now maybe I can see where the drive to be the best comes from, not the best for others but the best for me and then the ability to give back.
I feel blessed to be a part of this forum. I have never experienced the support, the community and camaraderie and it feels like having best friends that Ive never met.

Harleyguy used a term “Having a bad day? Good!” We said that a lot in the military. It also goes back to stoicism, “The obstacle is the way”, we have obstacles everyday and they are nothing but opportunities to be the best!
My friends, WE ARE THE BEST!!

I am not going to log today, I am going to share and be honest, I am not looking for attention and I don’t care what responses I get or if there is a response at all. I am doing this for me and to be open, this is my obstacle.I just feel that If I am going to start supporting others the way I have been supported here, that maybe you should know something about me.

I am a meth addict, that has been 21 years clean from meth, I can drink, I can smoke weed without problems, I choose not to, the meth was my deal and I was really good at it, so good in fact that I threw myself into it and became professional!! It replaced my successful real estate career , it replaced my family it replaced everything. I can go into stories, but those are in the past and actually no longer exist in my life.
It was 6 years of hell, it is a weird thing to know that when you put your lips on a glass dick (meth pipe), that you are killing yourself but yet you keep hitting that motherfucker.
On Nov 4th 2004 0400 hours I woke up after being on an 8 day run, I had probably smoked over an ounce of crystal that week, I was newly single…imagine that! My heart was pounding out of my chest, I didn’t know where I was at or where my wife was or my kids…..I thought I was going to die. That was the day that it all ended and the long road back to being a human being began, homelessness, joblessness, nothing but up from there.

I found this forum by listening to the podcast on youtube, I think it was a gift from the universe. I am well, life is great, but damn, this forum has given me something powerful that I have never experienced, I get motivation, I get inspired, I get to add and be added to. I am very thankful. The improvements I have made using ideas and tips from @LevButlerov have been life changing. I am so lucky I found this.

Okay, there is my emotional vomit for the week.
Thank you all for the support, for the motivation and for…..the camaraderie

Now THIS is how I love to start my day! @MarkNV

I am very grateful for @stevesmi and @Mobster for having me on and I had planned to open, honest, and willing to share my story for that sole purpose to help others and give props to EVO for being a site dedicated to that as well.

You say I inspired you? YOU just inspired ME!
I'm glad that expression stuck with you too because that sums does sum up how I feel about complaining when there are so many others that have more to complain about and don't. If you're ex military or SWAT like me, I worked with both, then you'll understand that the "only easy day was yesterday".

The Universe/God gifts us little gifts every day and we can choose to pay our attention to them and be grateful for them or ignore them, and you good sir found this forum on youtube as a gift and you see that. That takes a clear and open mind and because of your choice to get sober you have had one for the past 21 years. Congratulation too by the way!

There's similar stories if you're interested in @BeMe's podcast and @vanlife_gymbum's podcast as well. I'm really happy that their decision to bring on some members is touching some people like this!

Thank you for support and my motivation and your camaraderie for me today!

Much love and respect brother!

@Wheels85
Brother man, I was listening to @HarleyGuy talk about how you just grind!! Chair dips!!
I can’t ever fucking complain about a damn thing again. I was literally holding back tears. They were tears of motivation because we can do anything and be anything we want because it is in our power to create, and honestly, listening that on the way to the gym was something I needed.
Thank you for being such a badass!!

Breakfast

It is so good……but…it is still a bottled food and I could make it from scratch and it would be healthier. But if your tummy has a hard time with onions and garlic, then no way!!

Maybe I will give it a try to make it at home.
All it is, is water, fermented peppers onion and garlic, salt. Hmmmm that is a thought!!!

Do you have to watch your fats, spices and not much fiber?

You and @Mobster are knocking it out of the park with your interviews, there are some inspiring people in our forum. I say “ours” because to me it feels like home in a way.

Thank You @HarleyGuy, yes, the only hard day was yesterday!! Today is great and tomorrow will be better, damn I am a lucky man and thank you so much.
I did listen to @BeMe and @vanlife_gymbum, absolutely inspirational, and the need to share started building with those podcasts, I believe that we on this forum are built differently, the same but still very different.

Simple and lite this morning.
I didn’t log the workout, you will habe to take my work that at the end I could do a single push up…or anymore of them !

Chicken
Squash
Peppers and a fiber tortilla
I love that feeling of pushups to failure when the side of your face hits the floor hard! Then I let the ATP restore and do one more and let my face hit the floor again. I keep trying until I KNOW I'm done and that cold floor is all I feel on the side of my face and I'm laying there like "fuck ya bitch".

HOW DID YOU KNOW!!!!! HAHAHAHA LETS FUCKING GO!!!

I say “ours” because to me it feels like home in a way.
thanks! actually i am going to reach out to you soon to get you on as well to come on an episode. i will be in touch

and yes fermented foods, onion, garlic, high fatty foods, and more fibrous foods are generally tough on my digestion. but it is sort of a blessing because that prevents me from eating out

YES!!! I would love to talk with you Steve!

There is the positive!! You get to save some cash because you have to make your own!

Thank you all for the support, for the motivation and for…..the camaraderie
bros this a cool story. the more i read stuff like this the more i amazed. @MarkNV you talented guy too so its good to see that

I should, takes a lot of experimenting and time, but damn it always tastes good doing it!
Wouldn’t it be great to develop a BBQ sauce that tastes good, has protein and still caramelizes without sugar!!

Yeah. You should come up with something that's healthy too. Most of the barbecue sauces are so bad. I think there's a market for it.

There is a huge market for high protein organic healthy foods. Hmmmmm now my brain is going.
Sour creams
Cream cheeses
Cottage cheese
GREEK YOGURT!!
Those would be good bases
Or straight pureed tomatoes with ACV

Just have to get it so it will brown and not burn. I believe it can be done!

It was a good workout!! Thank you!!
I am thinking about browsing through your log and picking one of yours and do it!
I been enjoying the ones I been doing on my off days for lagging body parts, my arms and chest, that Lev inspired with 12 reps on 3 sets then a 25 rep drop set on set 4 for each exercise. I been getting killer pumps. Not use to workouts like that but usually doing strength training most of the time. I also love a workout with farmers carries in it. If I get around to picking one let me know how it goes? Keep up the hard work, great food, and great workouts it's paying off for you!

Fermented foods hurt your digestion?

Wow they're a digestive aid for most people. That's crazy

the issue with fermented foods is you are sending a ton of bacteria into the gut at once. this will cause gas and bloating. so how am i suppose to go workout when i am gassy all day? a lot of these health practitioners are so obsessed with 'gut flora' that they want their clients to throw tons of kombucha and fermented foods like sauerkraut into their stomach. when in reality you are causing too much bacteria in the process which makes no sense either

i had a naturopath that came on the podcast years ago who introduced me to all this fermented food stuff so i tried it for a few weeks and it was nonstop shitting and gas 24/7. and when i stopped taking them it lasted like a week or 2 longer cause it threw off my stomach so much. so people with crohns, ibs etc. should not even mess around with 'gut flora'. highly unlikely the culprit is lack of bacteria in the stomach in the first place. its more of a shot in the dark. the only time i will take pro biotics is if i have to take anti biotics, and the issue with that is 99% of pro biotics are a scam. i always recommend one called sach boulardii and you can only buy it in person at a health food store since it needs to be refridgerated

best i can do is a few sips of kombucha, but if i drink more not gonna work

Wow usually your a trust the science guy but on this you're going the total opposite.

That's really interesting. I enjoy fermented foods and my digestion has always been good. Di con (fermented radish), Kim chi (fermented cabbages), and fermented bean sprouts I love. I didn't get along well with kombucha either but more the flavor I didn't like. Kiefer as well.

Maybe it has to do with your gut microbiome and what you're able to absorb based on the diet of your ancestry. Maybe because I'm half Japanese I'm able to eat fermented foods more genetically.

You are correct!! There are a lot of people pushing a fermented diet and it is just to much!! A tablespoon of homemade sauerkraut gives you way more than enough pro and prebiotics for the day or even two days and anymore than that is total overkill and for people who have IBS or Crohn’s, it can be very uncomfortable if they over do it.
Fuck Kombucha, that shit is gross 😂😂😂😂
Thanks bro glad you liked it. Now we got you too look forward to!
thanks brother! It will be fun, looking forward to sharing

when it comes to eating. everyone is different. some will do well on fermented. and some won't.

i actually had some people over a few months back and one of my friends had sauerkraut on their burger. they got extremely sick instantly from it immediately

and then some people are perfectly fine on it. we are all different. i just think the fermented thing is pushed way too hard by naturopaths, how many times will they say the whole "you have parasites and we have to cleanse you out" all these scams out there. its easy to scam when it comes to the gut cause we can't see what is going on inside. so these naturopaths have a nice scam going, its like taking your car to a scamming mechanic who claims you have this or that.

between the eat fermented, take probiotics, get a colon cleanse, take this supp to cleanse, get rid of your parasites, etc. someone has to step in and say enough is enough. I used to go to one of these people in my late 20's. it was 2x a week, $80 a pop. + whatever else she gave me. she had a small office in town. she would have me take weird supps, claim i had parasites, give me some acupuncture needles, talk to me like i was in therapy, etc. i went to her for a year. finally my gf asked me 'why are you going to this lady who is obese to help you with your health?' and i couldn't answer it. i dropped thousands for nothing. i'm not saying eastern medicine doesn't have some merit, it does have benefits, but 95% of these people are phonies. i did the same thing going to a chiropractor for my back. dropped 12K going to one for absolutely nothing lol. the only thing i got out of it was the hot office girls they had there. they got a damn good scam going

IT has been a double edge sword for sure. I feel physically great!! the results are great, The mind fuck is horrible. I will finish this, and never do it again. My curiosity and been more than satisfied, I can see how people get sideways on this shit. But all in all it was worth the exploration and I have kept as safe as I can. I said somethings to somebody dear to me that somehow sounded like a good idea at the time and it WAS FAR FROM A GOOD IDEA. Muscle be damned, it just is not worth hurting her feelings. I am okay to finish this last little bit, but after that, No more. I have other things that would be easier on my body and brain.
@stevesmi you are so right about everything you have ever said on the podcasts about this crazy compound, it will most definitely give you the results you seek, but there will be a cost you pay.

Yeah. I have a great marriage and we can get sideways with each other at times. But nothing is worth messing that up. At least for me.

Take it for what it is. I tried, it was good and now I know, and I don’t need to know it again

Sounds very Florida, a chiropractic clinic with very hot girls LOL. I hear that's what the trt clinics are like down there too.

Yea I've always been really suspicious of naturopaths and chiropractics. And you're right, gut health has been the big trend this past decade. I'm with you. Eat a healthy whole food diet and the rest should sort itself out.

Do you work from home bro? You're always posting these nice homemade lunches and breakfasts.
I was wondering the same thing. I have to keep my diet pretty simple except during the summers. I have more time to smoke great bbq. Mostly chicken, turkey, or pork tenderloin. I stay away from the fattier meats. I smoke them. I just only get a taste. 🤣

yes they baited me in nicely with those hot chicks. a couple cracks of my back then a hot chick massage.

i know that not all chiro's are scammers, but IMO 95% of them are especially in FL lol
