Hello EVO fam. Found you guys while doing some research on TRT after doing some internet searches for everything I have been going through lately. I am going to lay everything out here for you internet strangers. I will get some pics posted once I find some older photos (I am certainly not a model)
I was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes when I was 19, and for many years I was only supposed to keep the diabetes in check with diet only, but never any point in the right direction of what to eat. Fast forward to 2009. I ended up with pneumonia and ended up in the hospital, which turned into 3 weeks. I had slept for 3 days straight and decided to go to the hospital which my fasting sugars were around 25 with no food for 3 days. Needless to say, I ended up having to take insulin (I will touch on this more in a bit)
I am currently 45 and live in Atlantic Canada. It has been a very long (at least 12 years). I have 3 children (21, 18 and almost 12) I had a vasectomy planned before my 3rd child, but surprise, there he is... I love him to the bottom of the earth and back, so I have no regrets. The vasectomy happened in 13 years ago when I was 32. I think this was the start of the downhill.
This was when the erections started disappearing, depression started setting in, and the drinking ramped up. I figured it was the diabetes affecting how I was feeling and this is when I started anti-depressants (around 2017) and turned me into a brainless zombie just walking through the world. I took them for a few months and stopped taking them becasue of how I felt on them.
2018 my wife and I split. Ramp up the drinking and cut back on the food. I went from (230-239) down to 180lbs. Got on new anti-depressants and felt better. Fast forward a bit and I met my now partner/wife/common law. The ED hitting hard and with new a new body to explore, I got on the gas station pills and they worked awesome for a bit and never had any real issues.
2019 My oldest son got moved into the adult class of taekwondo, and I always told him I would join once he got to the adult class. I joined and felt amazing for about 3 years. Going twice a week for 3 hours total. My work at the time was very fast paced and I would consistently get 12k steps a day. I got a new Doctor in 2023 after mine retired back in 2020. We met went through family history and personal history, and she ran full bloods on me (Not testosterone)
My A1C came back at 11.1.. Time to make some changes.
Here we are now in 2025. My A1C is currently sitting at 6.8 and weight sitting at 190Lbs. The big kicker was getting continuous blood tester (Libre2) and really seeing how fucked up my sugars actually were and actively trying to cut those huge spikes
So what brought me here: Depression beyond depression, social anxiety through the roof (I make every excuse on the planet to not go to taekwondo) I do not want to go anywhere, do anything, talk to anyone. I have major brain fog, cannot lose weight (is it the diabetes or anti-depression meds) ED is far beyond.. gas station pills don't work anymore. Libido, what's that? So I start looking at all these things together and realize it very well could be my testosterone levels.
So here we are Nov 18th. I have my Dr appointment on the 25th (3 week wait for an appointment) and I booked a blood appointment with the hospital on the 9th (only appointment available in the next month) I was going to buy a bottle of Test-C from PUR or Nordic Fusion and try it on my own without the bloodwork, but I want to have a true blood test with actual levels before I go any other route. My health plan will cover the Testosterone if my Dr prescribes it. If she does not, then I will be reaching out to @Nordic Fusion to place an order with them. I hear Tren is a good starter testosterone xD
I quit smoking back in August of 2024. Cut my alcohol down from 12 beer a week to maybe 6 whiskey and coke zero. I also eat 1 50mg THC gummy every night to help me sleep. If not, I am awake mostly all night
Meds:
Long acting insulin: basaglar 19 units anywhere from 21:00-22:30
Fast acting X3 before meals: Apidra (This is new to me since my health plan will not cover the humalog anymore) anywhere from 7-10 units depending on the meal
Escitalopram 20MG every morning with breakfast
Supplements:
L-Arginine 4000-5000MG a day broken up half in morning half at night
I started a mens multi but backed me up so I stopped taking it
Just started NordicFusion 5MG Cialis
Meals:
Breakfast:
for many years I would eat only cheerios with 2% milk.
Lately I have made a change to 1 cup of granola and 1 cup of strawberry yogurt. It fills me and does not spike my morning sugars above 12. I have 1 cup of coffee with breakfast and another when I get to work (sometimes)
Lunch
Used to be very unhealthy PB&J sandwiches becasue I am lazy in the morning. I have changed this to wraps with cheese (I know processed meat is not great) but it is better than sugar and bread and a coffee
Supper:
Could be anything from pasta to chicken and rice.
Water intake:
6 Liters a day (1.5Gal)
Mods/Admins, please if you have to use a pic, please use the 3rd one which is only a month old
If I need anything else please let me know.
