Log Day 47

Even though I was incredibly tired last before training last night I still made gains. I needed some pre-workout to get me going but in the end it was a good day. Yesterday was my first week of 1RIR sets which I love, especially now with my performance enhancement.

Feeling kinda brain foggy these past two days and I have a little bit of a cough this morning. My eyelids looked kind of swollen too. Hope I'm not starting to develop allergies. Everyone I know with allergies is suffering right now so it's that time of year.

Weighed in just over 184lbs the last 3 days in a row which is a new high for me. Looks like my weight is finally starting to go up.

I offen find when tired it forces you to dig deep and it makes the gains happen, in my own experience, the struggles is what builds a champion

That's what I said, but @LevButlerov recognized I was probably doing that too much and taking it a bit too far. He told me I needed 2 rest days in a row and he was right. I've been training almost everyday for a 4 or 5 months now. 5 days of weights and 2 days of cardio. Skip cardio day every now and again but always make sure I hit 10k step minimum on those skipped days. My biggest issue is work kills me a lot of the time. I'm on the tools all day, climbing, carrying, rucking with my tools on my back. I get over 10k steps just at work sometimes. Guess I need to start being smarter about recovery. I have bloodwork in the AM and we'll see what that says.

awesome man. make sure you take a look at my log too
I just read through your log and it incredible bro. Your transformation is insane! I went to post a comment and couldn't figure out where the button was...then I realized it's a different forum lmao!!

The pics in your first post, was that you at the beginning of your cycle or you from a long time ago?

Your running such a pro level cycle. Looks like you really know your stuff. Truly impressive!

Absolutely need rest days brother especially with you having a super physically demanding job, i offen do it this way
Two on
One off
One on
Three off

I find this way it helps ke maximize my recovery periods and let my body rest, other than cardio on off days and sometimes planks or lite ab work i take it easy.

I just can't do it tho lol. I have a home gym and it's right there staring at me. I can see it right now...it's killn me to not train lol

I love training and I never feel like I'm doing enough. I'm pretty much addicted to training also, I know this. The only thing that stops me from training more is lack of time really. I guess I should try to find a better balance but I also want to maximize my time on cycle so I want to train even more now than ever. The main reason I really wanted to run a cycle was to be able to increase my workload without feeling dead tired. I guess I found the tipping point...need more gear maybe??

Lmfao see i cant train at home i would hate it, so for me its easy lol 😂 see i felt the same way and my coach had to break me of that mindset, especially with trying to make it in bodybuilding and competition in men's physique, i cant train that way anymore i would burn out to quickly, once i got on gear it was hard to dial myself back trianing wise, i completely get it man, once i leaned into my coach and his methods ive seen way better results.

For this guy max time with weights is 30-40 minutes tops no longer, an 40-60 minutes cardio, the intensity is the key for the short workouts.

You did your push day in 40 mins?? Geez that's fast. You had a lot of sets in that day. You ran a lot of drop sets too right?

My workouts are supposed to be 40ish mins according to my training app...but I added a set to every movement lol. Now I'm typically 60-80min sessions.

Sounds like your coach has you dialed in bro. Everything looking good. Next step stage. Then pro card?

Yeah he pushes me to be my best and sets different target goals, leaves it up to me on how to figure it out, it has taught me alot, ok i cant do 7 movements lets cut down into 6, ok lets speed up the tempo on drop sets only, ok 20 second rest between sets, watch the clock on the wall, ok i cant teat here bang these sets out, he is pushing me to utilize my brain and master the craft and goals he sets, it took me a long time... he forced me to learn.

Yup 20 is always a drop set in my routine on all movements

Wow...just wow. People in your life must be like holy shit when they see you lol. I can't imagine one of my buddies showing up a few weeks later lookn like you lol. What a trip that would be.

How are you not sponsored by one of these UGLs. Your log is literally the perfect marketing material. You are the perfect athlete to sponsor cuz you're doing everything right and it shows. Would make the UGL look top notch.

There's only one open Mr. Olympia, there's someone better out there than every man except him that year.

In your case tho the transformation is more the marketing machine. Telln you bro, these UGLs would be lucky to have you. Most guys are hoping to look as good as you after 3 years, 3 weeks would sell some serious gear. Just don't promote your 7 days a week of training so much when you're sponsored lol. Gotta have people thinking if they did the same gear you did they'd look like you in 3 weeks too lol

Log Day 50

Coming off my 2 rest days as prescribed. Woke up this morning feeling good. @LevButlerov told to enjoy a cheat meal so I at a ton of sushi for dinner last night.

I'm starting to think a lack of carbs might be leading to my lethargy. I only had 184g of carbs the day before I started to feel wrecked and only had in the low 200s the following days. I'm in week 4, 1 RIR, of my training programs and with the higher intensity I think I need to up my carb intake. Going to try that this week and see how it goes.

Keep getting high stress readings in my sleep which is pretty abnormal for me. The last 3 nights I'm showing up to an hour of sleep stress when it's usually 0. Not sure what's up there.

Went for my bloodwork this morning and I'm excited to see where I'm at. This is my first cycle so it's all uncharted territory for me. I'd like to start titrating up but I'm hesitant until I know exactly what's going on. I will post my results once they show up.

Took a quick pic this morning when I woke up to head for my bloodwork. Starting to look pretty decent in the AM. I'm used to looking like an endurance athlete in the mornings, so this is a big improvement.

NICE! too bad no pic of the sushi cheat meal :P LOL next time I hope you share. @BeMe
The pic you posted, very tight, you are growing, bigger arms and tighter abs, perfection. Love the shoulders as well.
For the carbs, you can up the carbs and see how you feel closer to 400 but might be hard.

Thanks for making me feel bad for not taking pics of my sushi lol.

Ya I was pretty surprised how much bigger I'm looking in the mornings. My weight is staying up now too.

I think I'll try to stay around 300g of carbs this week and see how it feels. I bloat up if I eat too many carbs, but I have issues if I go to low as well. The low 200s used to be a sweet spot but I think the goal posts have moved on me and I need to adjust.

Love my sushi. The macros aren't the greatest so I guess it's technically a cheat meal.

watch out for ready made/restaurant sushi. its loaded with things like soybean oil which is awful. but making it from scratch can be perfectly fine with the right ingredients

blood sweat and tears. its all paying off. you got a nice and strong iron physique. keep it up

On the food. The best results in logs do NOT include brands. Cos that means additives and un-needed crap
Totally agree. I eat a whole food diet for the most part. The only processed food that gets a pass with me is protein bars.

@BeMe

I get the 6 sometimes when I'm training. That was a just rolled outta bed in the AM shot. I was just surprised I actually looked decent cuz I'm used to lookn like a skeleton in the mornings

No ready made stuff for me..I'm a bit a sushi snob lol. I mainly eat nigiri (fish/rice only). Not much of a fan of the westernized rolls. I'm actually half Japanese so I'm picky when it comes to the quality of the fish. Must be in my blood

@BeMe You are looking fantastic on this.
The veins are popping out of your arms. And you got some vascularity even in your stomach. That's very good. You are leaning out beautifully.

Log Day 51

Felt good to get back to training after 2 days of required rest. Made some decent progression over the previous week. I thought it would be more because of the 2 rest days but I guess I'm still on the road to recovery, and I did 4 hours of yard work before I trained. Almost hit 11k steps and other than bloodwork and Home Depot, I was working around the house all day. Feeling good this morning even though my sleep wasn't the greatest last night. According to my wife I was coughing in my sleep. I might have extended my sauna session a bit too long last night.

I checked out your log and wow you look incredible. Hard to believe your 56 years old. I'm 40, but remember what a guy in his 50s looked like when we were young. Now there's you at 56 and you look like you should be on the cover of a magazine!

Any kind man. My favorite is surf
I got pics in my log
Oh wow that's so cool. Surf fishing looks like so much fun. I live in the center of Canada so no surf for me. I sorta surf fished once but I just brought my freshwater rod with me to the Dominican and fished the beach when no one was around. I caught 2 small fish but it was still fun.

Do you ever have to worry about sharks coming in after your fish when you're surf fishing? That was one thing that had me a bit worried.

happens a lot. i hooked a shark 2 weeks ago which either ate the fish that ate my bait or took the whole thing. i got spooled and lost my line. that is why i take extra rods. a big shark like that you aren't going to be able to bring in unless you got a heavy shark rod and special equipment. i am 100% against shark fishing as the only clowns that do it are doing it for clout and their stupid tiktok videos. sharks are extremely important for the oceans to keep the balance. just like how bears are important where you live.
also sharks are a good sign on the surf. if there are sharks then there are fish. and yes they are there and if you are bringing your fish in too slow the shark will detect the panicked fish and pick it off. happens A LOT when i am boat fishing and bringing up the fish from 100ft deep as the sharks will circle the boat and wait for a free dinner. the ocean is a very nasty place vs. land. everything is eating something else and feeding.

also you always look for surf that are washout spots and rip currents, that is where the food is and hence where schools of fish come in to feed. you want moving water and you want to throw into the troughs to give you the best chance. flat surf that is flat underwater without troughs and places for food and fish to hang out will yield nothing. there are vids on YT that show you how to locate the good spots. its a good idea to move if you aren't getting action down the beach to a different spot. lots of strategies. even using a spudnick weight which will grab the sand so it doesn't move is important.

Sushi is not a cheat meal come on brother where is the greasy stuff or the candy lol, my coach struggled with me as well because he said have a cheat fay... so i was like ok whole bag of chicken wings... he said that's not a cheat meal, eat 5k calories add in junk food and pizza, in reality i didn't understand at the time, he was trying to fill me back out and recoupe my glycogen stores in the body and boost growth, i struggled so hard eating so shitty for that one day i didnt even want to do it but i did lol.

The low 200s used to be a sweet spot but I think the goal posts have moved on me and I need to adjust.
we try our best to make you feel bad and good same time LOL :P @BeMe

If you bloat too much increase digestive enzymes and probiotics.

happens a lot. i hooked a shark 2 weeks ago which either ate the fish that ate my bait or took the whole thing. i got spooled and lost my line. that is why i take extra rods. a big shark like that you aren't going to be able to bring in unless you got a heavy shark rod and special equipment. i am 100% against shark fishing as the only clowns that do it are doing it for clout and their stupid tiktok videos. sharks are extremely important for the oceans to keep the balance. just like how bears are important where you live.
also sharks are a good sign on the surf. if there are sharks then there are fish. and yes they are there and if you are bringing your fish in too slow the shark will detect the panicked fish and pick it off. happens A LOT when i am boat fishing and bringing up the fish from 100ft deep as the sharks will circle the boat and wait for a free dinner. the ocean is a very nasty place vs. land. everything is eating something else and feeding.

also you always look for surf that are washout spots and rip currents, that is where the food is and hence where schools of fish come in to feed. you want moving water and you want to throw into the troughs to give you the best chance. flat surf that is flat underwater without troughs and places for food and fish to hang out will yield nothing. there are vids on YT that show you how to locate the good spots. its a good idea to move if you aren't getting action down the beach to a different spot. lots of strategies. even using a spudnick weight which will grab the sand so it doesn't move is important.
Wow that's so cool. I've seen the sharks when people are deep water fishing. They call them the tax man lol. Surf fishing though you're in there with them. I guess you hop outta the water when you're landing the fish right? Wouldn't want to lose a hand to the tax man lol

I love greasy food as much as the next guy but my prob is it just messed with my sleep too much. If I don't sleep well it messes up my entire day so the juice isn't worth the squeeze in my case. Couple times a year tho I will grab some five guys on a weekend when I can afford to be a bit dumber for the day lol

they aren't interested in eating people man. that is a huge myth. just like when you walk around in the woods in canada a bear isn't looking to get you. they want to avoid you as much as possible. the people who get bit by sharks are either surfers who are surfing in the middle of a school of fish in murky water and get bit by mistake. or those idiots that scuba dive and hand feed sharks and they get bit that way.

i've swam in the ocean with 15ft sharks next to me and they could not care less. they have zero desire to eat a human. they are looking for injured fish

Week 7 Summary

Tough week this one. Wasn't recovering properly, RHR way up, possibly overtrained. Took 2 days off but HRV is still in the mids, although I do feel better. Preliminary lab work came in today and everything looks pretty good. Nothing alarming with hormones, will post once the report is complete. Trying to eat more carbs to see if that helps. Good news is blood work looks pretty good so it might be time to titrate up a bit and start pushing the gains.

Log Day 52

Still dealing with this sleep stress issue. I went from no sleep stress almost ever to every night this last week. It's leading to a lack of recovery. Not sure if I'm eating too much for dinner or what else it could be that's changed this past week.

Everything else is good. Had a great training session yesterday. Felt strong but numbers dropped from last week towards the end of my session. Seemed to be lacking endurance at the moment.

Think I'll sneak in a quick shoulder workout today to make up for the day I missed last week during my prescribed rest period. Nine sets of shoulders can't be too detrimental to my recovery right.

I checked out your log and wow you look incredible. Hard to believe your 56 years old. I'm 40, but remember what a guy in his 50s looked like when we were young. Now there's you at 56 and you look like you should be on the cover of a magazine!
yeah back in the old days I used to do a lot of roids so i built up some good muscle memory

I know...my first miss on 400. Dinner didn't have as much protein as expected and I was pretty full. Think the extra carbs messed me up. Back on track today. @LevButlerov

Before bed I take
2 different magnesium supps
Fish oil
D

Shower right before bed, no phone in bed.
Room is totally blacked out
Eight sleep mattress cools the bed to different temps throughout the night
I have climate control specifically for the bedroom so it's and the same temp every night
Binaural beats playing in my ears all night
Breath right strips if I'm at all stuffy

Is it cold enough in your bedroom? That’s what does it for me. I need an ice box to get my best sleep.

Log Day 53

Technically yesterday was supposed to be a rest day but I snuck in nine sets of shoulders to try and make up for the day I missed last week because of overtraining. Figured nine sets couldn't mess up my recovery too much and I really want to grow my delts.

What should have been a nice relaxing motorcycle ride last night turned into a giant pain in the ass and in your crash on my clutch cable snapped. Had to get towed home because my bike has too much compression to hand shift. Ended up getting in late, super stressed out....mission fail.

Bad dream after bad dream last night of stressful situations...even a cameo from my ex girlfriend from 17 years ago, that was a treat. Funny enough my sleep stress isn't that high today. Weird. Woke up this morning feeling greatful they were just dreams and my life is pretty good as it is, broken clutch cable and all.

Yea me too. I have a temp sensor in my room so the thermostat in my home sets the room for 71. Also have the Eight Sleep mattress that cools my side of the bed to the same temp every night and automatically adjusts throughout the night according to how I'm sleeping. My wife likes her side hot...I have no idea why..women right

Hmm. Fancy stuff. Women are like that for sure. I’ll sleep with the window open right next to me even it’s it’s like 44 degrees. My gf would try to crawl underneath me lol

@Mobster here you go. I gotta do a better job of keeping the camera angle the same. Didn't realize the change in placement was making such a big difference. I have no idea how to take pics.

@BeMe you look really good :D abs coming out hard, and I can see the legs growing too.
Thanks. I messed up taking the pics so different. Hard to see much change. First few weeks I was really just leaning out a bit but these past 2 weeks I'm starting to grow noticeably. Arms are up 1 inch in those before and after pics. People in my life are starting to really notice. I actually got a compliment on my "physique" from a random dude in a convenience store. First time that's ever happened lol

Thanks bro. I've been a pretty hard gainer, probably cuz my age and low t while I was powerlifting. TRT was really helpful in making some gains and being in this baby cycle has really improved things. I'm up 6 or 7 lbs so almost halfway too my 15lb goal for this cycle. @LevButlerov

Log Day 53

Into my last real training week on this mesocycle which means ever set to total failure. By set 5 of chest yesterday I had veins popping all over my chest for the first time. Usually I'll get a couple but my upper chest looked like a road map.

Got a warning from my whoop strap today that my skin temp is up 1.4 degrees, which is a lot. Hopefully I'm not getting sick. My wife was complaining of a bad headache last night. Really can not afford to get sick on this week of my training. Fingers crossed.

Sleep was back to normal last night which is a good sign. I actually had a dream about logging here on the forum lol. Don't remember exactly what I was logging, but I woke up at 12:30am after dreaming that and I thought it was time to go to work. Checked my phone for the time, took a leak, went back to sleep right away.

Tell them growing it is the easy(er) part. If you don’t know people who can drop $10k every two weeks or a month…. Spinning your wheels. And then there’s the crippling paranoia, should go great with tren 🫣
bro well we get cheap labor from all the messicans that show up on horses lookin for work. we will make billions when they legalize

Thanks I'll look into that. I've been taking CBD for a very long time and a couple times over the years I thought it wasn't doing anything and stopped...and then I realized it was definitely doing something. My body is so banged up it definitely makes a noticeable difference. I take it mainly for inflammation but the THC in it my tincture helps with the sleep. Definitely not trying to get get high tho if that's what CBN does. My recreational drug days are way behind me now. I did enough partying for 3 lifetimes. Now I only take drugs to get stronger lol

It doesn’t get you inebriated at all, but some of the dispensary products I get sometimes we’ll have like half or a quarter of a milligram of THC, and that can be an awesome synergistic effect without getting you high. I’m pretty much the same as you, I don’t like to be out of my mind in anyway. I buy CBD isolate 10g at a time. When I was really bad from herniated discs in my neck, it was the only thing that would make the pins and needles leave my arms. When I found it, it was amazing.

Glad to hear it helped you. It really is a miracle worker. Got my parents on it and lots of friends.

I buy 120ml at a time and the product I get 2.5mg/g THC and 71.25mg/g CBD. 1ML an hour and a half before bed every night. I'm in Canada and I just buy it right from a government website.

Depends on the person. I find the clients with medical marijuana cards get the better CBD isolates it seems. @toddthelineman

That’s trippy that it’s really from a government website. We used to get packages from Canada way back in the nineties. Said “live bugs”. We were the shiz because we could get that hahaha

It's because the government inspection process is really tough. Only lab grade high quality stuff passes through the inspections.

Yep I remember those days. It's was our most beloved export next to Celine Dion lol.

Yea the government of Ontario here sells direct. Just go on their website and order. Even the delivery is good. They only come between 5pm and 10pm so you're home to receive. It's a great system.
