Veteran Log My Bulking Journey to 200lbs

I was extremely distracted by work and other things. It was still really cool to do
Now I feel like the woman talking to the guy you can't keep it up... It's okay it happens to everyone lol

I forgot to add my little Umbrella Labs touchdown.

I’ve had significant lethargy lately, I’m able to power through it for work but as soon as my obligations are met I am shutting down. I think it’s mental. Stress, also when I false started my bulk I added deca and only got it in about three weeks or so before I could feel my mood drop. Since work completely took over my life for about five weeks there, I decided to abandon the cycle, but the low mood and energy is lingering and circumstances in my life are also a factor.

I decided to try MOTS-C to hopefully put some pep in my step and I decided to run out the serostim I’ve got laying around because it makes me feel good and I STILL have lingering irritation in my left bicep. I’d really like to start curling again because my arms are a really good feature of my physique and they respond and grow very noticeably. I haven’t trained arms in years because they got so big it was messing up my sport. Not bodybuilder huge, of course, but on my slight build I struggled to bring my hand close enough to my shoulder and when I carried girls with short legs on my shoulders I could barely hold my handle without my arms going numb.

Also restocked TB500 and BPC500, and revisiting my old friend GHK-CU. I’m not deploying these yet.

I’ve tried 400mcg, then 800mcg, and today am going up to 1200mcg MOTS-C. So far, I’m getting nothing. I could sleep all day.

Also picked up some injectable glutathione. I had had some really great results from it from a different source, years ago. Most of your liver support supplements are a round about way of increasing glutathione in your body, so in theory injecting it can be really effective for liver issues and it makes your skin look really good.

I think when my podcast episode drops I’ll want to start a thread on that. I was really distracted and didn’t get out very many fully formed thoughts hahahaha, so I want to expand a lot on what I did say.
Umbrella Labs touchdown looks hot, very clean vials. :D @toddthelineman
Good call trying MOTS-C and serostim to get energy back while you reset from the bulk attempt, sometimes stress and deca together can drag you down hard. Once that bicep irritation clears and you bring arms back into the mix it’ll change your look fast since they respond so well for you. The extra peptides like TB500, BPC157, GHK-CU and glutathione will be there when you need them, so you’re set up for both recovery and health.
I really want to see how your food looks to help with this.

I got my ass handed to me at work today. Super hard river crossing with 44’ poles, and my only help is a brand new guy. He’s not dumb but he’s older than me and very much out of shape. Was a union concrete worker. I think he drank like 10 pops today lol. We cranked it out, the full job required crossing the 700’ wide river three times, and threading through about 100’ of trees 40ish feet in the air. He couldn’t really pull any of it by himself so I had to do all the climbing and a lot of the pulling. I am smoked. I need to eat, but I’m in bed. I was cramping. My legs were jello. Back pumps. Everything.

I can’t feel the MOTS-C at all. Not sure why. I honestly probably don’t need it. I am just literally burning energy like a nuke plant, but still. Something is off. If I’m not doing something to keep my adrenaline up, I’m wanting to be in bed

I remember having the same experience with mot-c a while ago. People say you feel it like 30 mins post injection. Kinda like a rush of energy but I never felt that. I came to the same conclusion that my body just didn't need it for some reason. My buddy ran the same mot-c from the same source and it worked for him, but he was kinda like your helper in description lol.

Yeah I got nothing. Today was going to be a huge day so I took a quarter of a modafinil early and even with that I never felt as energetic and alert as I can with nothing in particular when everything is clicking for me

Yea that sounds like a crazy workday. I feel like a pussy when I complain about my rough days in comparison lol.

Maybe it will start working after a while.

Hahaha you could do it, but it’s pretty rough. I pretty much shut everybody down. “I do concrete” guys: he’s gonna puke lol. Concrete is hard ass work. It’s just not the same. A good day of building aerial cable *as a groundhand* is basically doing 200’ sled pulls and then jogging back, 2-3 minutes rest, go again. All. Damn. Day. If you seem like you can take it, you’re foreman might push on the gas, have you sprinting. Or if there’s two lineman climbing and racing each other, you get no break. Crazy shit. We were all literally insane. Not enough of us left to work like that anymore. Once in a blue moon I’ll find an old guy who will relive it for a day with me

Yea concrete is really tough on the body but there's no cardio or endurance aspects too it. Like you said, 2 totally different types of tough. It's like powerlifting vs CrossFit basically.

You know who are totally underrated and fearless unstoppable workers? Tree trimmers. A lot of those guys don’t even get paid very well. They get stupidly strong and they can go all day and it’s sooooooo dangerous and they are skillful AF! I’ve done some light logging in the mountains and I’ve helped real tree trimmers and my retired buddy has helped me do a couple big maples. He’s crippled so I’m just like “tell me what to do so I don’t die” hahahaha. He’ll have me swinging around and he’ll lower me down and make everything so easy. Then there’s the cleanup🤦‍♂️

Yeah raking up all the debris fucking sucks.

The arborist up here get paid big money. When I was in school a teacher told us what are you guys fucking doing in this class trying to be electricians. He goes you should be down the hall trying to be arborist, their their teacher pulled up in a fucking Porsche lol.

If you need a big Maple removed in this city you're paying anywhere between 8 and 15 grand depending what access is like to your yard.

Maybe if your mitochondrial function is already high, it’s not going to do much. But @Pigsy seems to be loving it and he’s in phenomenal shape so maybe that’s not it. I might just be doing too much and I’ve got so many other things in the mix and I’m just trying to squeeze water out of a stone.

Never fails! I get a workout in and the next day at work is brutal hahahaha.

Barely ate all day, just some candy and redbull and fruit because I might’ve puked real food. Managed to get up and put down some eggs and whey protein before falling asleep.

That’s rough, but at least you still got some eggs and whey in before crashing, better than nothing after a tough day like that. Candy and redbull won’t hold you long term though, so try to get a small solid meal in next time even if it’s just something light you know won’t come back up. :D

@toddthelineman you can shack up next to @vanlife_gymbum
would be a good collab. lol
Well idk if they’ll let me stay in New Zealand. They’re tricky. You have to be wealthy or start a business there that employs locals. That’s how my ex gf’s sister’s bf was able to do it. He is both wealthy, and he imports things to New Zealand and has local employees assemble and sell the imports. Rather not lol

Ooof.

Why did the pipe burst? That happens here from freezing. I remember being in LA and seeing plumbing *on the outside of the house * hahahaha. That would not work here lol
bros mostly old pipes. south cali is very old. people think out west is all newer and that true. but south cali one of oldest places in north america. also earthquakes and erosion a big problem too. we get lots of small earthquakes.. i think everyday we get them but most super tiny you don't feel

Never fails! I get a workout in and the next day at work is brutal hahahaha.

Barely ate all day, just some candy and redbull and fruit because I might’ve puked real food. Managed to get up and put down some eggs and whey protein before falling asleep.
@toddthelineman yeah i know what you mean. For me, the toughest workouts are after I get a bad night of sleep. Or when I used to pull all-nighters at work,

i'm pretty sure @vanlife_gymbum isn't allowd to be there either. i think he said he was an aussie and snuck in

It was the reverse of that... New Zealand is the one country I cannot be deported from :)

@toddthelineman is right, gotta be rich, or try your luck as some sort of self-appointed minority, the government loves that shit. Once you're here tho bro it's all pretty loose, you could easily overstay.

I wish I wasn’t. I’m fighting low energy lately but I’m busy as hell. The worst thing is they barely even work. I’ve tried everything. Motsc, modafinil, caffeine, kratom. Something’s not right. Getting bloodwork soon

Definatly man! Unless you're dying to see what a litre of Trenbolone does when you inject it into a cows ass I'd say Mexico is the clear winner there :)

Their government doesn't pay for you to sit around jerking off though 😞

You working on your Spanish? I got away with not speaking it when we went to Mexico, and it was my obligation to teach my cousins English. Every summer a different cousin would come stay a summer and we would immerse him in English and always they would be able to communicate by the end. I regret not locking it in when I was young. It would be a huge advantage for me now.

i pick up languages quick when i travel to different places. i think it would take me about 6-9 months to really pick it up enough to function

Ive found myself here before brother.

10/1/25 Wednesday
Another good night sleep, uninterrupted 8ish hours

Supps still the same.
Still pretty low energy, tried drinking more coffee. Nothing. I could drink a pot and go to sleep I think. That’s not normal for me.

Got a workout in, but the warmups… didn’t warm me up? Still felt decent to get it in, but pretty low motivation

Low energy like that with training feeling flat usually points to carbs being too low. Even just adding 50 to 75g around training can bring back that drive without wrecking the cut.
Coffee won’t fix depleted glycogen, but a bump in carbs will make the sessions feel better and keep recovery moving. :D @toddthelineman

Good looking shake there bro! How's that whey powder? How much did it cost?

yeah you don't want to get hooked on these energy drinks

Five eggs, two scoops, 80g protein.
Plus honey and cinnamon

That's decent bro, you should check out the non-lifter protein Powders at supermarkets and pharmacies, I can't figure out who it's aimed at, it's really low. Like 12g per shake type thing. Even the best stuff they had was 4 scoops to get 48g protein and that requies blending two at a time as it is. The three scoops I do to get over 100g is just manageable with one round. No water just eggs 😀

yeah you don't want to get hooked on these energy drinks

Yeah bro @ROIDDERS is correct. I don't know why but I've dated several woman that are fully addicted to that shit and their teeth fell out faster than mine. In my opinion what's missing from your list is you're not also removing those things and I think the caffeine is probably the source of the problem not the solution. If you look up the caffeine curve and think about how our use of redbull and espresso fits into the gentle curve, it can't, we're using it wrong and it's punishing us.

I can’t fit three scoops hahaha. Need a bigger blender.

Protein is the most annoying buzzword. I remember being in Chicago at a hospital and there was a “protein bar”. It was like, granola and stuff. Sooooo anemic.

A lot of people don’t seem to need many hundreds of grams of protein per day. But you get used to it and it’s good.

Yeah definitely agree man. The protein wasent the focus for me doing this but if I'm gonna be choking those down all day I want them to be worth it. 24g protein isn't worth it for three whole scoops of that crap haha. But I also agree there's way more to it. Like the five eggs on paper on add up to 29g but there's so much more nutrition going on with it than that. The protien is sweet but I don't think I could do this sustainably and also could get away with much less too but ah well. I think my old carnivore diet was more a high fat diet than high protein but it worked good. So far so good with the egg-shakes plan too tho!

@toddthelineman that’s usually how it works, buddy. It happens to me all the time way to get it in though.

@toddthelineman Gotta crush some food man! You will just be eating away at yourself!

You know who is super underated is the finish carpenters like myself. Putting doors, trim and cabinets in all day taking breaks once in a while to go outside and thaw out from all the ac. Tough work but somebody got to do it and make people's houses look sweet! Lol

Yes, that’s true. I can DIY and make it look… DIY HAHAHA. And I’ll never clean up the mess. Ever

I met a fishing guide while down there fishing for bone fish. He told me when he wasn't doing guides Him and his girlfriend will go up the coast and camp. There will be no one around. All they take with them for food is salad. They catch all the rest, lobster, fish and conch. Sounds like the life to me all the while just wearing shorts and flops. To bad my wife won't go for it.

Lol, I am joking. It's not a desk job but it's not running lines or cutting trees that's for sure!
And there’s nothing wrong with that at all. Everyone in my corner of the industry knows… if you want to do this there’s something really really wrong with you. Just had that conversation with a new customer last evening. He’s a second generation cable lineman. It’s a really really hard way to make a buck. It destroys families. Consumes your entire life and 9/10 leaves your body broken and you die young.

Once I knew, I always wished I learned simmering more mainstream and useful.

Epic rest day today. I’ve got another huge day ahead of me tomorrow. I got eight hours of sleep last night, woke up twice. Did some paperwork and worksite inspection today and took a huge nap. Didn’t have much appetite, but I didn’t burn much. Talked to a sort of therapist. That was interesting.

I ate broccoli. Haven’t eaten in years. Idk why, I just figured I’d try it and see how my digestion is. It didn’t hurt, so that’s cool.

Rest day looked perfect, sleep and even a nap will pay off for recovery especially with a heavy session coming. Appetite being lower makes sense with less activity, getting that shake in before bed covered the protein gap. you're close to 400 just 100 away :P

Cool that you tried broccoli again, if digestion handled it fine that’s an easy way to add volume and micronutrients without pushing calories too high. I would eat more of it :D

Yeah there are YouTubers that do that I see online. I would be up to that challenge too except I wouldn’t take any food. If I don’t catch I don’t eat lol

Good to go. So strange. A few years ago if I ate something like broccoli or Brussels sprouts I would have been in pain.
400 just 100 away
Yeah I thought about trying to force it, but nah. The training hasn’t gotten very high yet, and it’s been a slow week at work besides Monday, so I would just be filling up for no reason.

Today is going to be a crazy day, so I need to try to get the food in without messing up work. And going out for dinner with my kids tonight. Hibachi/sushi. Gonna pig out. Not sure how I’ll track that

@toddthelineman a lot of people are fine with brocolli after it is cooked/steamed. it releases those compounds that make it harder to digest. its a great option cause it contains indole 3 carbinol which fights cancer

Carnivore keeping you pain free makes sense, sometimes veggies just don’t sit right and there’s no need to force them if your digestion is better this way. :D
Training being lighter this week means you don’t need the extra load of food anyway, so staying steady is fine.

Log the hibachi and sushi as best you can, even rough numbers are better than none. @toddthelineman

I had a listen to your podcast, preshow review 30min so far amazing, deep convo about your work and addiction recovery. EVO family love and support your way! thank you for being open.

That's good that you were able to catch up on your sleep. Sleep is a definitely a big issue between the nap and 8 hours of sleep you are doing what you need to do to recover. that is what i like to see @toddthelineman

If you don't like broccoli, that's fine. @toddthelineman Maybe try some cauliflower. Or spinach is pretty good too.

@toddthelineman bros the resting important. You are a hard worker like me, always important to get a good night's sleep. Otherwise, our bodies would not make very far.

Yeah, for sure that and they have insomnia. They'll post a picture of themselves on social media complaining. They can't sleep and right next to their bed is an energy drink. DUH

strong day on the fats. seems like its a big part of your macros. one of the few guys on here who did it like that but it seems to be working @toddthelineman

I sleep like a teenager though. I can almost sleep on command. So strange. I haven’t always been that way. And I don’t always drink energy drinks. But I have a hard time stopping myself particularly at work. Back in the day it was common practice for people in my field to abuse stimulants. And I did too. The real ones. Ugly truth, but the tendencies are hard to break. I’m much better off with no caffeine, I’ve done it. But I have failed to make it stick after all these years

Fair enough bro, I can't stop caffeine either, I've done it every day execpt for 4 days since I was 12. But I drink black espresso if I'm at a Cafe and black instant coffee at home. You gotta be really addicted to drink black instant but espresso is an easily acquired taste and also isn't usually as hot as the others and doesn't fuck me up on hot days. But with energy drinks or beer or whatever you're basically cancelling out all the good eating you otherwise do. I recon I was eating near perfect for a couple of years but didn't show due to my drinking holding things back.

I was still ripped when I drank like a pirate hahaha. But smaller, and dying.

A bank error in your favour :) I spent the last year drinking 6L of cask wine a day but was otherwise steady at 24 5% beers a day, at 3400kcal. Probably another two or three thousand with whatever I ate which was meat, organic vegetables I usually grew myself, then bags of chips, blocks of chocolate and the like. All in a 8 hour window usually too. To be fair though my gut didn't move when I stopped doing that either. There's other upsides bro. If you're drinking even a couple of redbulls 3-5 times a week at work, which feels like the odd occasion not really a habit, it's still enough man - did you enter those into your macro counter? I didn't use to do that because it made my graph look bad haha. I'd recommend trying to switch to coffee, then you can get in on Cafe culture too! Think of the Sunday brunches you can take ladies to...

Yes, I include everything into MyFitnessPal. I get zero sugar energy drinks when I get them, especially because I’m usually getting gummy bears already. I donor when I’m crashing and need instant energy and alertness. It’s not great, I consider it a sacrifice for my goals, honestly. Is it worth it in the end? No, but I’ve got the tiger by the tail. I’ve invested everything into what I’m doing and when it’s go time there’s no stopping. I am dependent on caffeine. I don’t think coffee is much better. It’s actually worse. It raises my blood pressure, redbull does not. It also has a much greater diuretic effect on me than other forms of caffeine. @kcates is amazing. I sort of suggested he drop the caffeine because I know how detrimental it is to me, but he actually did it! Very impressed by him.

I know some adults like that. I think everybody's just a little different. Some people can literally just sleep in their car.

I do watch it sometimes. I actually liked alone better. I liked the mental aspect of alone. Both are good show. I also like the one where the military guys would snatch one of the other guys up then throw them in a scenario and they had to get out. I like that one as well. Yeah I like the survival shows. Do you remember what episode Gary Golding was on? I will make sure I check it out.

Yeah on the stimulates and also the hydrocodone we abused as well. Guys get hurt get on the pain pill.l from a doctor and never get off. Done here in Florida the pill mills were bad. Then get the pain relief and energy boost for it was a perfect storm for construction. I have seen so many friends and coworkers now on fentanyl. Now you here often guys over dosing on the jobsite. Just heard of one die under the hose and they had to drag him out. Glad it's not happen on any of my job sites.

Thanks bro. I have been on all kinds of drugs all my life. I sold drugs for 20 years. Caffeine has been the worst as far cravings go. It has been the loudest as far as thinking about it probably cause I see it everywhere which makes it hard. If I wasn't on a GLP-1 i wonder if the addiction had been worse. I will say in my 3rd week off energy is coming back. I read that it takes 3-4 weeks to get your body to adapt back to normal and get your normal energy back. I will have to agree this is accurate. If my blood pressure wasn't jacked up on it. I would still be back on it for sure. I will credit that to getting healthy. If I had never learned how important in what we do with anabolics and the relation with our blood pressure. I would have never probably cared and just took medicine my doc gave me. Then just kept drinking the stuff until I had a heart attack. Once again all this healthy lifestyle has probably saved my life or at least extended it. A lot of that is due to this forum and all you guys and gals.

Todd, u get the weekends off to catch up on recovery?
Most of the time, yes. But it’s all pretty chaotic in general. It just depends on deadlines, so I could have most of a week where all I’m really doing is like truck maintenance, prep work, backlog of office work, stuff like that. And then there could be a big push where I might not get a day off for like 20 days. And that’s some really hard days. But it hasn’t really been that bad in a long time. If I did a big hurricane job, I might not get a day off for months on end. That stuff gets crazy. You have so much money, but your life is falling apart around you.

@toddthelineman a lot of people are fine with brocolli after it is cooked/steamed. it releases those compounds that make it harder to digest. its a great option cause it contains indole 3 carbinol which fights cancer
This is what I'm going to try too as I introduce carbs and listen to @Mobster 's advice and start low at 50 and build up to 150 or more slowly.
