Hey everyone,
Not sure if this kind of post is okay here – mods, feel free to move or remove if it's not in the right spot. I just wanted to introduce myself and hopefully connect with some like-minded people passionate about training.
I recently moved to Brisbane (Holland Park area) after living in Canada for 6 years – originally from the UK. The move has been exciting but tough, especially when it comes to getting back into a consistent gym routine. I've always been really passionate about lifting and training, and a few years ago I was in pretty decent shape. Life got in the way – settling down, priorities shifting – and I lost my momentum.

I even sat down with my partner recently and explained that I need dedicated gym time for myself to stay healthy and feel good mentally. Training together sometimes is fun, but I do better with my own focused sessions.

Over the past 10+ years, I've had experience with various compounds (Test E/P, NPP, Masteron, Var, Dbol, some SARMs, etc.) and peptides – they helped me feel strong, full, confident, and capable. My partner isn't thrilled about injectables, so to ease back in (and ease her concerns), I'm planning to start with SARMs/orals like Ostarine, MK-677, and maybe some MT2. Down the line, I might revisit Test E/P and Mast if things go well.
Right now, though, I'm really struggling with motivation here in Brisbane. Job hunting hasn't panned out yet, and I tried a trial at Goodlife but just couldn't get myself going consistently.

I feel a bit lost and isolated without that gym community and routine. Its been tough to talk/reach out to anyway but I seen myself in a picture the other day and was like WTF has happened to me! I need to get back what I used to have! I feel that it's impacted my mood and I'm being moody with my partner and it all comes down to not training or being where I was!

I'm hoping to join a group of people who share the same passion for serious training. Any recommendations for solid gyms around Holland Park/Mt Gravatt? Preferably somewhere with good free weights, a serious atmosphere (maybe powerlifting or bodybuilding vibe), and a supportive crowd. I've heard of places like Goodlife Holland Park, Snap Fitness Mt Gravatt, or even further out like Steel & Stone or Iron Underground – but local experiences would be awesome.
Thanks for reading – looking forward to being part of the community here!

Sorry if this isn't the place and isn't the type of thing I should be posting! Please remove if not allowed, just was looking for somewhere to offload.

Cheers.

You’re 100% in the right place mate and respect for having the guts to be honest about where you’re at. A lot of us have been exactly there life shifts, routines fall apart, and suddenly you don’t recognise the bloke in the mirror anymore. That doesn’t mean he's gone, it just means it’s time to rebuild.
This community is big on support, accountability, and doing things the right way with absolutely not judgement. You’ll find plenty of people here who understand the mental side of training just as much as the physical, and who’ll back you while you get your groove back. Things will fall into place once you get some structure and momentum again.
I’d strongly recommend starting a log too. Doesn’t need to be fancy just showing up, logging sessions, and letting others follow along can be a massive motivator and helps you feel part of something again. Plus the added help along the way with cycles, training, nutrition and health.
You’re not behind, you’re just at a restart point. Lock in a gym, start small, stay consistent, and let the process do the work. Plenty of us here happy to help along the way legend.

Welcome to evo 🔥

Honestly I Really appreciate it! I was like this is a dumb thing to do and post! Was a bit anxious and if it was the right thing to do! Appreciate you saying that!

I know I have that animal still in me! I have previous year logs and I just got to keep telling myself that I can get back to those weights again and not to beat myself up over not lifting as much or as good!

I think being in a new relationship just kind of shifted me and handling new situations. Looking after my partner and not putting myself first.

Appreciate the support! I'm really enjoying Australia so far, people are super friendly. Just hard when you don't have that support around you and In Canada I had a bit and at home I obviously had family friends and an awesome gym community.

Finding my feet here has been a bit of a challenge but I'm getting there. You may see me pop up on other threads asking silly questions as I find my feet. Really keen to get started on some Sarms/Orals and MT2 and then persuade my partner that injectables are much better and aren't as bad as they are made out to be.

Thanks 🙏

Brother honestly ask away there are no such things as silly questions.. only silly actions from not asking lol 😉😁

And brother this is what evo is all about. Sharing, supporting and growing together as a community. Everyone supports the next bloke and we all strive and climb together.

I personally wouldnt bother with sarms but understand your situation.

Lets see your nutrition over the course of the week and your training also brother might be room for some optimisation in those areas that can be low hanging fruit.

There are some absolute weapon coaches here in the community that enjoy helping through the logs and also personal coaching to if thats an avenue your looking towards.

Happy to here the animal is still there brother! Lets take this step by step. Remember small steps turn into long strides as momentum builds. You got this brother 👊

If you’re keen on orals

I’d hit a dbol only cycle 🤓 and skip the sarms altogether as they shut you down anyway so you may as well go the whole hog.

Butttt that’s just me 😂 I’m an all or nothing type of person

As for Mt2 can’t go past @Wolfenstein for all your peptide needs 😝 he’s basically got a treasure trove of goodies and if he doesn’t stock it he’ll either order it for you or point you in the direction of someone that does have 🫡 I can’t say enough good words about him. You’ll see when you talk to him 😉

Injectables I personally use @Gold Standard Labs when you can convince your partner he’s definitely your man to hit up

I think var is the go haha, dbol bloat in summer shieeeet

Welcome bro.

I'll be the dissenting voice and stay just return to Test only.

Oral only/sarm only cycles shut you down and give you more side effects.

Test is bio-identical to the body. Not only would it be a safer (and cheaper) PED to return to, its going to be signifigantly more effective.

You'd also get more mental, emotional and lifestyle benefits from higher test.

Anywhere from 150-250mg a week would be fine, depending on your estrogen.

Plus a bottle of test is like $80 bucks on average and would last you 10 weeks. The perfect option in this economy!

Hey mate, welcome to Evo.

I think you're in a good location for gyms. On Kessels Road at Mt Gravatt you've got a World Gym and CBJ. My pick would be CBJ just based on the sheer amount of equipment they have. I was tempted to join just to go there on weekends (I'm a bit too far away to go there on work days).

Regarding possible cycles, have you got everything lese locked in? Getting diet in order and back to training consistently again would be the first step. Have you had blood tests recently? Do you know what your natural test levels are like?

Hey legends,

Massive thanks to everyone who's chimed in so far – the motivation, gym suggestions, and general vibes here have been huge for me. Seriously helping pull me out of this slump I'm in . Appreciate you all!

Some info about me: 5'10", currently hovering around 205lbs. Best shape a few years back was 215lbs – solid, strong, confident. Let things slide with life/settling down, but goal is straightforward: get back to 200-205lbs leaner and feeling great again through consistent training, decent food, and rebuilding that gym passion.

Supps currently: Whey protein, creatine (5g/day), glutamine, pre-workout when I need the kick. Recently added magnesium and ashwagandha before bed – sleep's improved heaps. Will add more once work lands.

Training Plan: Giving myself 4-6 weeks solid training to lock in habits and rhythm before thinking about anything else. I'm going to aim to train 4-5 days. Extra rest or light active recovery (hiking/walking – I love getting outdoors here) on off days.

I'm thinking;

Day 1: Chest + Triceps
Day 2: Back + Biceps
Rest Day (or light hike)
Day 3: Legs (most demanding – hit it fully recovered)
Rest Day ( I always have a rest day or active rest day after legs)
Day 4: Shoulders + Triceps
Day 5 (optional – only if feeling strong): Repeat a lagging body part or some functional/HIIT work.

After every session: 20 minutes steady-state incline treadmill walking (HR ~130-140).

Meal Plan so had a quick glance at previous years when I tracked and im going to go for something like this

3200-3500 calories, high protein (220-250g/day), slight surplus/recomp. Flexible meal-prep style. Not going to BS anyone – I'm not 100% strict. Occasional treat when cravings hit (kept reasonable/rare), but focus is consistency, feeling fuelled, and enjoying the process.

Sample daily layout (swap foods freely):

Breakfast (600-700 cal, 50gP): 100g oats + 1-2 scoops whey + banana + almonds + Greek yogurt

Snack 1 (400 cal, 40gP): Protein shake + apple + 1-2 tbsp peanut butter

Lunch (800 cal, 60gP): 200g chicken/lean beef + 150g rice/potatoes + big veggies + olive oil

Pre-workout Snack (500 cal, 40gP): High-protein Greek yogurt + berries + rice cakes/granola

Dinner (800 cal, 60gP): 200g salmon/turkey/steak + sweet potato/pasta + greens + avocado

Evening (300-500 cal, 30gP): Casein shake or cottage cheese (room for small treat if needed)

Loose tracking, weekly weigh-ins, heaps of water.

I know Test + Mast felt incredible before (full, strong, confident). SARMs/orals were okay but not the same. Partner's cautious about pins, so easing in gently once everything's rolling naturally.

Going to check some of the recommended gyms soon, really keen to lock one in and start smashing it properly.

Thanks again for the awesome community support.

Cheers

Welcome to the EVO family :D @Pad07 thank you for sharing! I know 1st time it can be intimidating but you're in the right place, EVO family is a no judgement zone, we are here to support you.
since you're not jumping full force yet, before you start anything, get a pre-cycle log up so we can see your training, nutrition, bodyweight, and bloods, because that builds a real baseline and keeps you accountable. The EVO family can only help you dial this in properly if we know how you train, eat, and recover right now. This will help us as a team build your cycle and base :D 15min of your time to change your life!

HOW-TO LOG?

Why is a Log Journal important?

  • Doing a log will actually help you way more than just dropping random updates. When you lay it all out week by week you start to see patterns in your body that you won’t catch otherwise.
  • Other guys here run logs all the time and there’s no privacy issue, nobody is asking for your name or anything personal, it is just training, diet, and how the compound feels.
  • The feedback you get is also way better because people can follow along and spot things you might miss. It also helps the next guy who is thinking about running the same compound so you are giving back while you learn.
  • Even if you think you might not stick with it, just starting the log makes it easier to come back and add quick notes. That way you get more out of what you are running instead of keeping it all in your head.

To really guide you we need more info from you:
  • Please share your diet, training, cardio, sleep, supplements etc log with us in a NEW thread, full log journal so our guidance is based on facts you provide.
  • It will take 15-20 minutes max.
  • We have 100s of years of experience between us, so you need to post a LOG Journal with your stats (weight, height, age, years training, cycle history) diet, training, cardio, supplement, sleep details. If you don't log what you eat or train now, open NOTES on phone and start recording it there and paste here. Very easy.
  • Please post a Log Journal asap for uu

What part of the UK were you originally from?

I've been in Australia 5 years, lived in Wiltshire where I met my wife who is Australian.

There are some good sources on here, stick to the trusted ones.

I was rather nieve coming from a country where steriods are legal to one where they're not so readily available.

There are alot of scammers.

Originally just outside of Birmingham on the cusp. Then been in British Columbia Canada for the last 6 years!

Just down in Brisbane at the moment.

Was easy to get stuff back home and was good stuff too.

Yeah it's been hard for me to navigate it all as I've never used Telegram/Theema or Bitcoin before.

Birmingham was just up the road.

Once you know what's what the gear here is just as good as the UK, if not better and not to badly priced in comparison either.

Drop me a PM if you need any help with anything mate.

Welcome mate, Brisbane has a solid scene if you hit the right gyms.

A structured routine and consistency usually help with motivation more than anything else.

Good to have you here – ask away if you’re stuck on anything.

Thanks for the shout out ducky!!

Yes, when his partner gives him the greenlight to run oils - we will be here for him 😈🔥

Can vouch for @Wolfenstein too, one of the best vendors here 🙏

Did you end up joining a gym mate? If so, which one?

I just joined up to the GoodLife, I didn't really want too but it's right next to where I'm living and is a 5 minute walk.

Don't have a car or job ATM so just easy to get me moving some weight. Not the best gym but does the job!

Cheers s everyone for all the support.

Been back in the gym this week and felt like an animal. Probably over did it but felt good. Got mad Dom's. Been eating much betteras well.
