Lactic Acid build up?

Pain=Gain

New member
I get really sore when I take a class because I get these insane pumps that hurt bad from all of the lactic acid I'm building up. Guys anything good to take to help with lactic acid build up?

MSM is my go to supplement for muscle pain from lactic acid build up. You can also try glutamine stacked with MSM. You can take up to 10 grams a day of MSM, but don't take more than 3 grams in the beginning because it'll give you a headache. Take it in pill form because the powder form is very bitter. You should take about 5 grams of the glutamine either in powder or in pill form

1. Taurine

2. Lots of water

3. Calcium

4. Bananas

These are my fav's for pumps and lactic acid.

I take glutamine and msm daily. Bananas everyday really really help me. I always have taurine on hand when on anavar...but I am usually able to control with diet and supps. Make sure you are drinking lots and lots of water.

I've heard good things about collegen as well.

Great post here.

Adequate water intake is HUGE. Along with proper electrolytes (think sodium, potassium and calcium).

Taurine has been shown to help.

Also stretching out the sore muscle, deep tissue massage, epsom salt baths.

lactic acid does not cause soreness at all.

it causes a burning sensation during a set. the soreness is cased by muscle fibers breaking up and it will get better over time as you build up your conditioning

Lactic acid is not what causes the burning sensation and pH drop nor is it produced. Glycolysis produces lactate, not lactic acid and the production of lactate actually consumes protons/H+ and does not cause a drop in pH. The drop in pH from protons/H+ is primarily from the hydrolysis or usage of ATP.

^^^ I never said I disagreed with anything in that link. I probably should of been more specific.

when you are lifting weights.. DURING THE SET I am saying. that burning feeling is lactic acid building up. I am saying lactic acid has nothing to do with the soreness people experience.

from livestrong: The Source Of The Burn

"When you exercise and isolate a muscle group, lactic acid, produced naturally by your body, begins to build around that muscle. As the lactic acid surround the muscle, it results in a burning sensation. While the burn is often associated with becoming stronger, the feeling of heat and fatigue often ends your workout. After a certain number of repetitions, the lactic acid causes muscle fatigue as it interacts in the calcium in your body. This is evidenced by your inability to complete any more repetitions."

also I think people need to man up and deal with it, if you can't handle some soreness and that sort of 'pain' then weightlifting isn't for you.. you will never improve if you don't push past that barrier.

there is a difference between pain from an injury, and pain from pushing the body past a certain point

I have been taking n2jointrx for my knee and have found my legs burn less on a sprint, I guess now I'm realizing that this is due to the ingredients in the product have a positive effect on lactic acid exhaustion too.

keep in mind there is a difference between getting a pump from blood going to the muscle and lactic acid build up pain.

when you are running you are likely getting the pump.

I cant tell you that sportslegs works well and it's cheap! I have used this for many races and I can tell that I last longer with it. Its a great lactic acid buffer! Try it out!
