Stoopid Question - sleep after lifting

So, I am now in a position where I can take a nap after I lift. I lift around noon-ish. I am on the last of a cycle of LGD. I got a 3-bottle pack, did 2, left off with it for some months, and now finishing the last bottle. I am on dr prescribed test cypionate - I decided to do 2 ml/wk. Lately, I have been really feeling my muscle stretch and feeling good after lifting. My general schedule is chest/tri - back/bi - shoulder/abs/legs. After a big muscle group day I have been feeling pretty wiped.

I have the ability to take a half hour nap after the workout. Should I? I know sleeping repairs muscle, but any other reason?

Thanks,
lion

It has been shown that power naps (naps lasting from 30-90 min) are quite productive and replenish many of the body systems that JP listed above. As for muscle repair, this takes quite a while and demands a lot of energy and time so a short nap will not cover the repairs of a workout. You have to make sure you get at least 6 hours of straight sleep for this to occur otherwise you risk overtraining, and yes it is a real diagnosable medical condition. But to answer your question, if you can take a little nap throughout your day it will only benefit you, just try to keep it in that 30-90 min range, otherwise you wake up feeling more tired than before.

If you are able to take a 30 minute power nap after your workout - DO IT.

Sleep and nutrition are the two single most important things for recovery. Every little bit adds up. A lot of pro bodybuilders are well known advocates of taking naps throughout the day.

I would finish your workout, slam back a post workout shake/meal and then have a 30 minute nap.

I rarely have time to take naps throughout the day based on my schedule but if I ever have time to, I will ALWAYS take advantage of them.

i had my best gains of my life when i was working out in the morning, coming home and sleeping.. then going to work after with meals in between

overall as the person above said you do need to hit your 8 hours for best results though. just taking a nap and then getting 3 hours of sleep at night won't work well either

Nothing wrong with taking a 30 minute nap after training. Your body is beat up from the hard training so it will only help. It is always best to listen to our bodies and if you have the spare time then go for it. Just get your meal in after sleeping.
