Transformation Log

Im in Crazy Cali. Hope we dont lose anymore forest this summer. I love our Redwoods.

Reconfigured carbs and fat. I feel much more even. Not exactly sure what it is about the other way. Maybe the carb swings. My instinct is that I need more fat and less carbs to control insulin spikes. Carbs in the first 2 meals primarily. Keeping protein up there to help with muscle loss while I lose fat. And I just cant eat cream of rice and oatmeal and rice cakes. The type of carb I eat is important. A little sweet potato seems to be ok. Those grains kill me.

Thank God for Ibuprofen. Really sore from the hike. Did stretching and 2 Epsom salt baths. I need to stop being in such a hurry.

My resolve is locked in. Not tempted around other types of food at all. The hardest part is to get in that mindset for me. Handled diet change smoothly, drank my water. Building momentum slowly.

Try to do yoga at least 3 times per week, it will help you get better results. And good to see you hiking that's needed.

I am experimenting with another approach. Im much better eating a couple times a day. Working out nutrients. More fat, less carb, but more protein than usual keto. I got a protein from the netherlands, very clean, grassfed, no fillers which kill my stomach. Milk protein isolate, micellar casein, and whey protein isolate. fast and slow digesting. its sitting well with me. A clean nitrous oxide. Smells like beets and turns everything it touches red. Annoying but tasty. A very clean creatine also. While these supps are anabolic they also have amazing health benefits. Will slowly add other supps as I go.

Stopped Srms. I want to feel everything else I am doing first for awhile.

I bought an Inertiawave. Kind of like those heavy ropes but very different actually They are stretchy, pretty long. I attach them to 2 small trees that are close enough together to work. There are several ways you bounce them and wow. It is a work out! Core is working hard and a lot of other variations makes it brutal. Im doing it across the street at the duck pond, early, sun coming up, awesome for my head. Its interesting too so im engaged mentally.
Lots of twists and turns starting out but im still on it.
And in all this adjusting I have lost 7lbs.

Good update. Have you tried yohimflame on lower abs during fasted cardio? you might like it a lot. I'm trying it now good lean out.

have Yohimflame. 2 bottles. Im still too porky for its use I think. Isnt that for final lean out? Or can I use it during workouts? lightbulb going on. Please let me know how I can use this. Ive got a lot of fat on me still.

Good stretching this morning. So hot out. Will do stairs inside, lunges, etc.. Early morning ropes outside tomorrow before it gets too hot.

Now I am focused on building foundation. Down to supporting organ function and maximizing nutrient use.
Feeding my body.

Great update brother. A lot of times these journeys start out emotional so I am glad to see you really starting to get into the nitty gritty. Just keep eating right and training hard.

How did I get so weak? My body bitches about everything. I am not gonna stop. This fight will make the end result even sweeter.
Im eating meat and 10 cups or more of vegetables, raspberries, blackberries, some pecans in 5 hour window. Doing that for 2 1/2 weeks now. I can feel a rhythm kicking in. Body is shifting gears into fat burning. I do get hungry but not hunting for food.
I am very regular now. Sleeping hard.
Will continue working this plan until my metabolism is really rolling. I have not deviated at all.
Happy with my focus and commitment.
Will continue to condition, ropes, walking the sand, yoga stretches.
Getting ready for the weights.
When I begin to lift I will add more carb before workouts but keep the rest of my eating plan the same. Probably Rilose, creatine, thinking about it. I want my body to use the carbs and not shift me back into fat storing. I have to give the muscle something to work with. Planning now how I will begin.
I love those inertiaWave ropes.

This all feels good. It hurts. But it feels good. What is it about this lifestyle? Its so satisfying to me. I cant wait to pick up heavy stuff and put it down. Lol!!

It will hurt for sometime but will get better. After 12 weeks your body will get used to it and you'll feel better.

Hahaha!! Yeah, All I can say is dont ever stop moving. I did and paying for it big time right now. Remember that scene in Wizard of Oz with the Tin Man and the oil can? ........ That.
 
You know how when you sleep so deeply you wake up and your face has creases in it and you've been drooling with your hair in your mouth\ well maybe not you/ and you are in the same position you fell asleep in and one of your hands is numb and you wake up and say "wow, that was a good sleep" because you feel really refreshed? ..... Hard sleep.

You know how when you sleep so deeply you wake up and your face has creases in it and you've been drooling with your hair in your mouth\ well maybe not you/ and you are in the same position you fell asleep in and one of your hands is numb and you wake up and say "wow, that was a good sleep" because you feel really refreshed? ..... Hard sleep.
 
So this was in a thread in a discussion about eggs and cholesterol. Our brains are full of it naturally for one. Eggs are a perfect food. good ones that is, as pointed out a couple times.
I remember when eggs became EVIL for a good while. Then 10 years later I remember driving down a street in SF and there was a billboard that said "GIVE EGGS A BREAK" .... I thought, give me a break.

So in this post nutrient partitioning is mentioned. Is there more info on this on the site somewhere?



another big one is FAT that is in food makes you fat

and another one is 'eat less, move more' burns fat- this one is so stupid and wrong it drives me crazy. if you eat less your metabolism drops too which is a wash. if you move more it won't make much of a difference unless you are training like crazy like say running 6 miles a day or something. weight training at the gym for an hour won't be any different then sitting at home watching tv for an hour, you burn almost the same calories either way. nor would an hour on the elliptical or treadmill

and i have to add count your calories in and eat under maintenance while completely ignoring calories out and how different food partition in the body

all 3 are wrong and lazy diet tips that hurt more than help with zero scientific backing/

OK. Sidelined but maintained eating 75 percent. Exercise was a little tougher.


Did a 9 day Crypto training. Webinar. 10 hours of content a day. OMG! It was like a college class in finance and economics but with real life investors with several different strategies. It was awesome.. I experienced a huge paradigm shift. Its a new world for sure. I also got the worst case of FOMO I have ever had in my LIFE!! Spent several days after setting up and refining.


So sitting in a chair in front of the computer killed me. How do people sit at desks all day? I could never do it. Im stiff again.


I noticed the days I deviated on diet had 2 effects on me. If I just ate a bunch of carbs once and then stayed the course for the next 5 days it felt beneficial and I actually lost water. If I added refined carbs my body reacted negatively. Body is pretty clear about no garbage food ever. Then I did a 2 day fast and my body absolutely loves that. So I utilized my confinement time to experiment and observe. I am definitely carb sensitive and I do gain a lot of benefit from resting my body from food.
Its a hard one.
Food is so much fun.


So back on it. Walked a mile today. My TFLs were not happy, shortened hip flexors from being in this chair.. Take me a week or so to get rolling again.


I really like this whole Crypto thing. Reading the charts and graphs is amazing. So many tools. We shall see what I can do with my body and my finances. Very motivating.
Did not gain any weight back.

also instead of torturing yourself with low calorie or low carb dieting and feeling like shit all day it is much healthier and effective to do fasting instead.

5miles walk, 1 mile per day ... pretty easy
ropes 3 days 30 min ... trying some harder positions
hopping stairs two feet at a time ,, hanging onto banister for balance and some help, one arm up in front of me. wow, my glutes and legs feel it. width of feet apart hits some different muscles. Using my whole body actually. Challenging.
stretching... 30 min daily
Eating... 8
water... 10

I was sick for so long. Its taking time for my body to respond. Felt impatience and disappointment over this for a few weeks. This week I think Ive settled into acceptance and just doing the work everyday. Making that my focus. Enjoying it. Marking my progress however small.. Showing up.
Ive been expressing gratitude everyday..... I have enough of everything I need to accomplish what I want. Great weather to go outside. Beaches nearby. Beautiful parks to tie my ropes up in. A pond right across the street to walk around. Equipment. Enough money for good food and supps. Enough time to do it all.
Ill continue to get well. I love this.
Starting some resistance training next week. Figure out what I can do.
I need to understand how fasting and building muscle can happen. It is a new idea to me. I will look through the articles here for info on it. I have heard of fasted training. I want to do a 4 day fast eventually. I am interested in the health benefits of autophagy. Antiaging.

Next week

Research how to do fasting and training. Any suggestions or recommendations for reading appreciated. I need to put some muscle on. I sustained a lot of muscle atrophy being sick so long but I still see the potential there.

I think I have body dysmorphia. I cant see myself accurately. Seeing the pics always surprises me. Even after that I still cant see myself accurately.

Anyway, I am going on a retreat for 6 weeks. Mountains. no phones, internet except in a small town. Ive lost my True North. Going to scream at God, reground and do some healing. Will continue to condition. Going Spartan. Ill find my way back. He would love what Im doing.

Leg Pull/10/ med incline/ 2 sets
Lunges/ 15/low incline/ 3 sets
Inner thigh Pull/ 15/ low/ 3 sets
Leg Pull/10/low/3 sets
Pull up/8/high/3 sets
Front push/15/med/2 sets
Front,side,rear Deltoid raises/low/ 8/ 2 sets
seated, laying curls/low/8/2 sets
Tricep extension/8/low/3 sets

Starting to finish all reps. Pulled my hamstring.
Diet floundering but not too bad.
I cant get in rhythm. Losing focus. Commitment. Enthusiasm. Caving.

So sorry for your loss. I can't even imagine how you feel. Take some time for yourself to heal. I don't know you but you will be in my thoughts.
