Potassium levels

10millagorilla

What would you guys consider dangerously high levels of potassium? Whilst using telmisartan my potassium came back at 5.4 mnol/ml and when not using at like 4 mnol/ml. I don’t need to necessarily take it but I would like to and just want some further clarification and what type of levels you would be like too high.

Cheers

Seems like your just above range. What does your doc say. I'd start to be pretty concerned if you started getting around 6.

Just yesterday I watched a long interview with Eddie Hall. In it he mentioned he was drinking a LOT (like 8 litres a day) of coconut water for hydration purposes. His potassium levels got so high it caused a temporary heart issue. Fixed, fortunately, but drinking a LOT of water

@10millagorilla it can be dangerous but not at those levels. Just drink more water.

can you tell us more about your cycle? share what your cycle is please

ARBs increase potassium thats a well known class side effect but its hardly ever to that degree. Increase your hydration 90% water and 10% gatorade/powerade and intake one full gallon daily. sometimes when kidney function gets poor those electrolyte numbers go up because filtration is struggling due to the strain on the kidneys. astragalus root extract is a good herbal for kidney health. what is your SCr and BUN?

using blood pressure medication or cholesterol medication without a cardiologist monitoring you comes with negative consequences just remember that
these drugs aren't meant to be used long-term

discuss with your doctor everything you're taking
don't ignore warning signals

make sure your discussing this with your doctor
don't make a mistake with your health

of course if something is off then it's off
it's not something to play around with

It's smart that you're having these things checked
but it's also important to interpret them correctly

this is a good one for a doctor to take a look at
if you're manipulating your numbers that can factor in

This was quite some time ago! I had a coach at the time who kind just glossed over it “as people who bodybuild higher potassium can be good” since have dropped him and haven’t been on cycle since due to going through the process of starting a business so haven’t needed to use telmisartan.

I’ve always just been curious of why but the penny has dropped from “drink more water” after looking over the bloods back then it was pulled at 7:45am after waking up at 6:30ish. I was more than likely just dehydrated at the time. 🤦🏽

Definitely and having them pulled under the correct environments and having a good coach to pull you up of these variables (I thought I did haha) it was always my suspicion that it was dehydration but it’s pretty confirmed now

@10millagorilla so you're not on cycle at all now?
