Veteran Log Why fasting helps you live longer, helps build more muscle. and my prolong fast LOG

I can listen to songs or listen to folks in the car as they speak maybe when driving slowly. With ADHD I dont need dristractions. I even asked the cop to keep quite during my driving exams ;) Not kidding. I told him I will answer his question after crossing the busy roundabout lol.
You got that ADHD fever :P

my move was completed. I did a 2 week move. highly recommend doing it that way instead of all in 1 day. used my car to move small things with numerous trips, then rented a 20ft truck back to back sunday's. been in the new place 3 days and can't be happier. not having a neighbor banging or playing music while I am trying to sleep and work is a true blessing after 10 years of sharing walls with people. those of you out there i highly recommend paying more to not deal with that. my sleep is so crisp and i can sleep day or night whenever i want, don't have to worry about waiting for the neighbor to sleep.

this is what i did in my room with a sound blanket and light blocking lights, and i also setup a small DC fan which i got off amazon for literally $25 to help drown out any sound. also my windows are thick and impact which blocks out 80% of outside noise. sleep is the key to recovery. i see a lot of guys on here not sleeping well and not sleeping correctly. you need deep stages of sleep to properly recover or else expect it catch up to you mentally AND physically.

the sound blanket i got cost around $600 (1" thick and industry grade) and was special ordered online to fit my window.. well worth the investment and you can easily transport it forever.. i simply nailed it to the wall to cover the window and its done.. it blocks probably 20-30% of outside noise. the curtains cost like $35 from walmart lol.

I'm going to be talking more about sleep in this log as well. one of the things i was discussing with someone on their log is blue blocker glasses. he didn't know what they were. simply they block out BLUE LIGHT. these electronics that we use and any lights are not natural, and will keep your brain from knowing its night time. its the same problem that sea turtles have and why by law in certain places you can't have lights on certain times of the year cause the turtles get confused near the beach. well with humans its the same way. picking up some blue blocker glasses is a great investment, see pics of the cheap ones i bought on amazing for like $15 each. now of course you can buy more expensive ones that look better, i've seen ones for $100+. make sure you test them when you buy them to make sure they do work correctly, you can use blue blocker testing websites to see that. it will boost melatonin and other compounds in your brain and help you fall asleep much easier. anyone have questions about this let me know.

Congrats on the move! I remember my first day with no shared walls and it was the greatest thing ever!! Fucking people ruin everything.

Sound blanket is a new one. I'm replacing my windows this fall and going for triple pane glass on my bedroom. If that doesn't work I'm going to check out the sound blanket.

I sleep with headphones in and listen to binaural beats while I sleep, it helps a lot. Instead of that fan you can get a little white noise / brown noise generato, pretty cheap too. It's just a little speaker. I use it when I'm working out of town overnights and sleeping in a hotel. It drowns out any ambient noise.

On Android phones we have this thing called eye comfort mode. Turns off all the blue light in the phone. I have mine set to automatically turn on at 9:30 everyday. 3000k led light bulbs will help you avoid blue light spectrum in your house.

Thanks.
Those windows are a must. But they aren’t cheap.

Yeah a sound machine is also good if needed. You can put it near a window to drown out noise but I’ve researched that and turns out sound machines will help you sleep but hurt in other ways. Which makes sense. Essentially you want to have natural noises like a little wind but nothing too crazy.

If you can get your sleep completely dark and quiet that is essential. Tom Brady sleeps in a chamber that is completely sound and noise proof and uses that room just for sleep. That is the optimal way.

Yea Brian Johnson has a similar setup. I want a ghetto version of that lol. I have blackout curtains and blackout fabric taped around my windows. If I ever renovated I'd go full sound proof insulation all the way around and get insulated doors. I'm always interested in sleep tips so keep us posted.

Best thing I ever did was get the eight sleep mattress cover.

Yes! sharing walls and apartments are horrible, everyone is noisy and they flood your place.

I had a client staying at my house before a show NM Classic I think or AZ show and he couldn't sleep for 2 days because of the noise, took 5th not 2nd!!!!

Always best to turn on the blue light cancelling mode on the phone I do that but I also wear blue blockers just to be safe. :D

Just avoid anything over 3000k colour temp in the light bulbs you buy. The old incandescents are better if you can get them cuz LEDs flicker. We can't see it but they do, and they can irritate some people and cause migraines.

I don’t even have light bulbs in my house at all. Not a single lamp.

The very best option for sleep is find a nice place in the woods with no neighbours. At our old cottage I'd sleep like a baby every night. Fresh air and no noise. That's the dream
Have you seen my cousin Vinny. That owl was super Loud lol

Lmao!!! Classic. You're good with these old comedy movie pulls. @Ulter can give you a run for your money tho.

My wife's never seen Happy Gilmore so I'm showing it too her for the first time. Pretty hilarious watching someone see it for the first fime

My neighbor used to have an above ground pool and his shitty old pump ran all night outside my room. I bought him a timer and made him use it while I was sleeping lol

i liked happy gilmore as a kid but not because of that idiot adam sandler who can't act his way out of a paper box. but for shooter mcgavin that is a classic character. heard the sequel was better then the original but i can't find myself watching a sandler movie, he just sucks as an actor too hard.

my old place had a pool and i made the pool lady set the timer to night only cause i didn't want it outside my office. she told me a similar story as you but in that case the neighbor actually called the cops cause they got tired of listening to that neighbors pool pump all night while they slept lol. i mean asking them nicely to set it for a different time and them saying no. rough situation having that sort of beef with a neighbor

I was a hockey and golf guy so it's right up my alley. Shooter is the best douche bag bad guy ever. Happy's old boss with the nail in the head is pretty funny too.

Ya I was lucky my neighbor is cheap and I told him he'd save a bunch on electricity. I'm glad that pool is gone now. It was a shitty above ground that he never maintained and I was worried about it failing and breaking my little basement windows lol

Burning hot during the day and freezing cold at night...scorpions...no thanks haha. I would like to visit tho and try a sandrail out. Those things look amazing
Unless you like grilled scorpions lol :P think that over

I'll try anything once. I've tried crickets and mealworms. They weren't terrible.
Crickets nothing like scorpions lol

Line em up. I'm down. If the WEF has their way we'll all be survivng on bugs anyway
Ha! America needs a new black market. Legalizing weed tanked the economy. I got your burgers 2 for $5. No squirrel in these. My guys got an underground hydroponic pasture, we’ll have ribeyes next week. When’s your payday? You ever try… bacon?

Such a bright outlook. Don't worry bro there's always room for you up here in Canada with us. You boys in Illinois are basically Canadians too already. You can be our 11th province lol

Bacon must taste very different where you live lol
Canadian bacon is #1 I see on packages all the time lol :P

I never know what Americans mean when they say Canadian bacon. I know you guys call Peameal bacon Canadian bacon, but also our bacon strips are different than yours. Personally I'm big fan of American bacon strips cuz the curing and smoking process is a bit different I think.

Up here we call "Canadian bacon" Peameal bacon or back bacon. It's all confusing.

I agree with your statement on both accounts tho lol. Our bacon is number 1

@stevesmi Always a pain moving! Good thing it went smoothly!

Like we have actual products called Canadian bacon I'm not sure what it is lol Canada pig?

Does it have cornmeal on the outside of it and it's kinda like ham, or is it strips of bacon?
Straight up bacon lol

my move was completed.

I use them. They work. You can get really deep red ones. You can get red or amber screen protectors for you phone (can be annoying). I have all amber incandescent lights in my house. Many are on dimmer switches. I also have a vitamin D lamp that is AWESOME! Hit that in the morning especially in the winter. It will set your circadian rhythm for the day. They come up on eBay from time to time. Pretty expensive

Do u have a specific photo or link of that lamp that i should be looking for, yeah i need to invest in blue blockers and use them i want to see if it makes a difference in sleep and overall energy levels over time.

My gaming monitor for my pc has a built-in blue blocker feature for night gaming makes a huge difference

Sperti Vitamin D lamp. It really works. It’s been a life saver for me during winter. I don’t get sick, no more seasonal depression. Vitamin D supplements don’t work like that for me. Five minutes or so a day with the lamp and I’m a new man within a couple days. It won’t tan you.

Dang i definitely need that being where im at, the seasonal depression hits hard and low vit d along with it.

Oh ya, that's the good stuff lol. I've been told we cure our bacon differently up here and that's why it tastes better. When I eat American bacon I feel sad
American bacon only works with butter LOL :P why you think we have 300+lbs everywhere?

What I know to be Canadian bacon is basically ham. It goes on pizza and some breakfast sandwiches. I don’t really eat it though
I havent touched it in years :D

LOL. "Canadian bacon" is peameal bacon. It's amazing.
I had to google it. It looks something like what is sold as Canadian bacon here, but ours is just cold cuts. “Bacon” as I know it, is just cured pork belly, and sliced. Never met someone who ate it and didn’t like it. Except maybe the absolute cheapest examples like on gas station sandwich. It’s fun to bring a grill to vegan protests and grill 20 or 30 pounds of it.

Pretty much the same thing

Would this work better than supplementing with VitD? I take Vitamin D separate every day in my prescription blister packs with my meds.

Depends on the person. I wouldn't go all out with lamps but you should supplement vitamin D and you can mix in a minute of lamp time.

I use cheap uvex blue blockers off Amazon. They are ugly but they work.

Im not trying to win any fashion shows so i dont care how ugly they look, as long as they work im good 2 go

I use the northern box light. Sit infront of that thing 20mins every morning.

I can't remember the name of the fancy one but I ordered it and it felt like fish. If you do some research avoid the one that everyone recommends lol

LOL. "Canadian bacon" is peameal bacon. It's amazing.
Yea that's what I thought but @LevButlerov was talking about actual bacon strips. Our bacon is a lot different than theirs. If you visit the states, especially in the South, and eat their bacon you'll be like where's the flavour

@stevesmi it’s good not to have neighbors. Sometimes you have great ones then others are ass holes. Glad you’re happy in your new place.

For me, absolutely without question it does work better. I’ve had my lamp for 3 years. I’ve left it at home for weeks for my kids to use in the winter while I’m on the road and my energy fades without it. Before I bought the lamp I had a source for injectable vitamin D and it was excellent. I can take huge amounts of oral vitamin d and I can’t tell that I even took anything. I have blood tests showing improved vitamin D from the lamp, although I thought they would have been even higher, I went from the bottom of the range to upper mid range. This is slightly skewed by the seasons, as I work outside and play outside pretty much all day in the summer.

Injectable VitD would be sweet! I have injectable B12 but don't really need it. How did you come across your plug for that?

It was a peptide source website that also was selling steroids via email. He had a Facebook page full of normies and I suspect that got him busted because he vanished completely

Hmm... and I go to the mobile home (autocaravana), I want to be more free. There may be more noise in parking lots... But the secluded places are full still. I do not care, the doctor prescribes Lorazepam, 1 mg is enough to sleep as dead in any noise :D:D

Yeah noise is everywhere it seems. This time of year I hear the ACs blasting bigtime everywhere. Just gotta do what you can to find a quiet place

Sometimes we jsut need to tell them. We have neighbours who plays loud music in thier backyard with super large stereo speakers, so loud that we could not hear our own TV inside our house despite closing all the windows for hours on end. Tried calling the cops and they did nothing. Infact we have a online compaint lodging system in Brisbane and they mention they will send cops, but doubt they ever did. One day I just went outside and shouted loudly at them calling them idiots at the top of my voice angrily. That seem to have worked. Now they only party on birthdays and maybe once every 2 months during family gatherings instead of every other weekend. That is manageble. Good that you are free from those a$$holes.

What happens if you tie this on the top of the bed to the ceiling and sleep naked the whole night? Can you skip the next six months worth of exposing to it or taking D supplements? ;)

@Mara35 you can do mobile homes in your region?
Also I sent you some studies in DM about fasting, what do you think?

my experience has been when you have a bad neighbor the best thing to do is simply move. always research the heck out of who your neighbors are before you move in. there are MANY ways neighbors can be a pain in your ass besides being loud. sometimes they let their dogs crap all over the place including your lawn, sometimes they curse you out over something they don't like, sometimes they might not like your cat outside, sometimes their dog barks nonstop all night, sometimes they smoke or do drugs late at night in front of their house, sometimes they stage their own house so poorly that it reduces your property value and harms the aestetics of the street, sometimes they might park a huge boat or RV for months in the street.. what pisses 1 person off, someone else might have 0 issues with and vice versa. its a real shame that people can't just be neighborly and not bother the other person and vice versa. i don't care what nobody does, as long as you don't bother me. but again what bothers me might not bother someone else.

on a related note this is why i HATE going to public gyms. although 90% of people at the gym are super cool. there is always that 10% who are idiots, including staff. those 10% ruin the whole experience where it effects my gym experience. i much rather workout at a private gym that isn't open to the public or train in my buddies garage for that reason. nobody bothers you that way. i would only train at a public gym IF i was training heavy, so i could get a spotter and get some motivation to push myself. but the way i train now no need for the aggravation

Completely agree with you on this. I share a similar mindset. There will always be some idiots that think that they can behave like the entire neighbourhood is thier home and they can do anything. In my case though the rear neighbours moved in long after we moved in. Luckily they stopped after a stern warning and I hope they remain that way.

💯 agree with this. My closet neighbour is 500m away and I have my own gym that has a membership of 3. Couldn't/wouldn't go back to anything different from this 😁

You guys are so lucky to have your own gym and space for it. I have been a member of garage gym fb community and everytime I see a post, I be like I wish I had my own garage gym haha.

The thing that always annoys me about that is the arrogance that someone could thing everyone loves their taste in music lol.

I never get why it needs to be so loud too. Its a yard party not a club. Don't you want to talk

yes and the problem is as the population grows and grows the more people are around the more that 10% grows in numbers. if 10% of your city are assholes and you live in a town of 100 then you can avoid those 10. but if you live in a city of 100,000 or 1M then 10% is a lot of assholes lol. .a huge gym might have 200 people working out at the same time. so if 95% of them are cool that would mean 5% are not. 5% of 200 is 10.

The thing that always annoys me about that is the arrogance that someone could thing everyone loves their taste in music lol.

Oh bro, they even connect mics to those speakers. Right from small kids to old people take turns singing. And then blast super loud music. They turn it up so high that those 12" speakers start crackling and then thy slightly turn them down. Starts at 5PM and right till 10 20 PM, like some high school party in open grounds. Where we live the houses are close together. Like 8 to 10 meters apart on the backside and 2 meters apart on the sides. and they are diagnol to me. It would be much worse for thier next door neighbours.

Probably explains why I'm surrounded by assholes living in a city of 3 million+

Oh bro, they even connect mics to those speakers and sing in vietnamese language (I guess) during get togethers. Not even english. Right from small kids to old people take turns singing. Ah shit...yea Viet people love to party lol. They're the only culture I know where the parents go to raves with their kids. I'd get hit on by 60+ year old Vietnamese women all the time at raves.

They go hard with the karaoke too. Really bad singers

And I have virtually none in a village 250...🤣
That's why small towns are the best. People are more accountable for their actions. In Toronto people barely know their neighbours anymore.

I'm trying to live where there's almost no people and you gotta drive to get to a small town. That's where it's at for me

I work in the city and live in a small village community. I couldn't live in a city now. Any and all of the reasons have just been laid bare above 😁
