📝Week 5 - Thursday Update📝

I've noticed I've been very tense the last few days. My eye has been twitching and I've noticed I'm unconsciously clenching my jaw. I need to do some meditation or something to relax! 😭

I did take a day off on Wednesday. I woke up from a rough sleep feeling lethargic. My body would barely walk me around the house so I took the day off to nap and chill and felt so much better for it. I'm still tense but am functioning! 😂

Today I succumbed to my cravings and went over my calories. Oops haven't done that in a while! :eek:

We'll see if the cravings subside otherwise I may need to up the reta back up to 2mg.

Still hit 8k steps

Thursday - lower body.

I skipped the squats today after yesterday's burn out and swapped for an all machine leg day. I put an extra 5kg on the hip thrust machine after a few people picked up I only had 10kg on there

Feel like I'm coming down with something in the last couple days. Hopefully it doesn't progress! Nothing is worse than waking up with a sore throat, drinking some water and it DOESNT go away. I cant get sick, im making too much progress.

I've been researching how melatonin is an anti-oxidant, that when it get broken down in the body, it breaks down into more anti-oxidants. Maybe a melatonin serve tonight will help keep me fit and healthy and keep the sickness at bay. Otherwise im happy to spend some time on the couch and relax with a face mask for a day or 4 :LOL:

Tuesday - Pull.

I can pretty confidently do the 8 assisted pull ups with the lightest band at my gym but there's no thinner bands so I don't know where to go next. Dead hangs?

No PBs for this session after a pretty bad sleep. Woke in the very early hours and couldn't get back into a deep sleep. @RGSX are generously going to share some of their sleep range with me which I'm so excited for. A tonne of research and hard work has gone into this!

Still hitting the 8k steps. The walking pad has been a great investment!

Pushing through. I think I'm mostly over the negativity of my last couple posts and embracing the changes that have already occured and are still to come.

Super inspired by @Alice_In_Ironland growth phase. Seeing how her body changed and still kept the feminine lines has really got the fire going to add more lean tissue. I really appreciated the support of everyone else too, it was honestly the nicest thing. You get stuck in your own head sometimes and you need people to shake you out of it.

📝Week 5 - Sunday Update - 48.4kg📝

On Friday I weighed in at 48.4kg. Torn between thinking I should drop my calories back or that I should trust the process and stick to the plan. I'll give it another week and see. I know i'm still the average weight on a Staffordshire Bull Terrier, but this is still a big deal for me :LOL:

The last 3 days i have been eating at home and cooking all my food. Please excuse the massive dump of photos. Easily the best meal is the homemade smash burger. With some lean beef and low fat cheese, you can make a burger at home that smokes any fast food place, for way less calories. Especially if you get some high quality beef!

Saturday - morning Pilates.

Another lovely stretch after missing last weekend's class. It was a bit slower and more mobility focused but there were a couple of new moves to challenge me.

Sunday - push.

And push I did. I felt like I progressed in most exercises with ease which is a good feeling. I really want to get the 15kg DB chest press but don't think I can do it solo...:eek:

And still hitting my 8k steps goal - easier to do on the weekend :giggle:

Questioning myself on the plan to bulk thinking I've put too much weight on already. Trying to stay positive and remind myself it's part of the plan. 🙏

Sleep has been pretty disrupted and there's been lots going on but I'll keep trying to stay on top of things and do what I can to prioritise rest and mental calmness. I'm hearing some interesting things from @RGSX in this space which will be exciting. 😁

My energy has been really good which is a nice change after feeling like I'm always tired (because I'm pretty much always trying to be in a deficit). This is the first time I've tried a proper growth phase so it's both exciting and scary to see how I go mentally and physically. 💪

Im really looking forward to it. I take melatonin every now and then, but i think that melatonin alone only helps you start getting to sleep, im not sure it does much for the quality or depth of sleep.
That is true and you can also train at home too.
I've always found that i need that gym atmosphere to get me going.
The more people populate the planet, the stronger these viruses will get. They are out to get us and they are going to evolve.

i refuse botox! just think it looks so fake and awful !
I have to respectfully disagree with an explination.

You want the right amount of botox that its not noticable. The best application for botox is to limit how much your face moves so you dont develop new wrinkles.

I obviously dont want a frozen barbie doll face, but i want to prevent new wrinkles forming.

Less is more. Its like makeup. I dont want people to know im wearing a ton of it, i just want to smooth things out.

I know its sounds a little whoo-whoo, but i've got a voucher for a reiki sound healing day.

If there is any actual benefit from it, or its just nice to have a relaxing day to calm down and enjoy some silence, who knows.

My period is due, so it just might be a big of an aggressive one, considering im not in a caloric restriction.

Yes that's a good point. I've been out on dates with women who look absolutely horrible. Looks like their face got hit by a hurricane if you know what I mean.

Weighed in at 48.4kg this week, which is the same as last week. I did have some random higher days during the week so I think on average I'm on track with this growth phase.

Also remembered check in photos. I think my back is becoming my best feature. I was talking to a girlfriend who was wearing an exposed back gym top, and i thought "oh, i could pull that off". 💪

Positive vibes over the weekend. Relatively quiet but productive and squeezed in a catch up with friends so you have to be pleased with that. I'm very grateful I can go out and enjoy some pizza and a cocktail without stressing about my progress. :)

I'm stoked I was able to do the 15kg dumbbells for my incline bench totally solo. I tried a few weeks ago and couldn't get them up and had to hang my head in shame walking them back to the rack. So I'm incredibly proud that I stuck with the goal and got it! It proves maybe I can do some of these things I previously thought I wasn't made for. 😁

Positive vibes over the weekend. Relatively quiet but productive and squeezed in a catch up with friends so you have to be pleased with that. I'm very grateful I can go out and enjoy some pizza and a cocktail without stressing about my progress. :)

I'm stoked I was able to do the 15kg dumbbells for my incline bench totally solo. I tried a few weeks ago and couldn't get them up and had to hang my head in shame walking them back to the rack. So I'm incredibly proud that I stuck with the goal and got it! It proves maybe I can do some of these things I previously thought I wasn't made for. 😁

📝Week 6 - Sunday Update - Weight 48.8kg📝

Weighed in at 48.4kg this week, which is the same as last week. I did have some random higher days during the week so I think on average I'm on track with this growth phase.

Also remembered check in photos. I think my back is becoming my best feature. I was talking to a girlfriend who was wearing an exposed back gym top, and i thought "oh, i could pull that off". 💪

Sunday breakfast - leftover mince and rice heated up with egg and kimchi. I'm normally a sweet breakfast type but this was a game changer! If only I had time to do something fresh every morning.

Also tracked my water as @Panda22 suggested as thats probably contributed to my weight fluctuations. I was 3.5-4L each day so will try to be consistent with that.

I bet you could do it. I have a lot of anxiety about public speaking. The guys make it really easy. You’re just talking and we all interact a lot together so it’s a lot like catching up with friends. Much easier than something formal.

I had to speak in front of a group as the new board member of a team I am on. Agh. I got all hot and sweaty and when I was walking up two people got into a whole conversation in front of everyone and I stood there and waited for them to stop being rude. I chose to do it completely unscripted and it was fine once I got started. I kept it short. No stumbles. I swear I was exhausted after that lmao. I have zero experience with public speaking, refused to do it in school ever, etc. I also communicate best in writing, but I’ll bet when you get out and have fun you can talk like any woman can hahaha. I’m sure you can do the podcast just fine 👍

I am warming up to the idea. I worry it’ll be a let down now, that’s it’s been “hyped up”

Not at all :)

We’re all into the same thing here, fitness and self improvement. There’s no let downs. We discuss these topics like breathing. And we all participate.

I don’t think I had any amaaaaaazing ideas to share on the podcast, I left out most or all of my more interesting activities, eccentricities, etc. but it was still fun to do and I got good feed back.

I haven’t heard a single member/guest podcast I didn’t appreciate even if a couple were a little dry

You bigger boys might not understand, but today i got to do something tonight, that i've never EVER been able to do!

Eat a whole pizza for dinner, while still eating my other meals, and hitting my macros!

30+ years of salads and diet sodas, and my calories are finally high enough, to fit an entire pizza in for dinner, without fasting or starving all day!

It was admittedly a smaller oven one, but it felt GOOOD...until about 30 minutes later when i was laying on the couch regretting my life :ROFLMAO:

Lesson learned, bulk on whole foods, not pizza (i may not fully learn this lesson ;))

Monday - lower body

This wasn't my best workout. I woke up super early, couldn't get back to sleep so i decided to go to the gym. Realistically i should have rested and tried to go back to sleep.

Oh well, a bad workout is better than no workout!

Tuesday - pull.

Tried the pull ups unassisted where you only focus on the negative. The gym was super busy so I had to do these towards the end of the workout and didn't feel that great doing it.

Hopefully I can do them earlier in the workout next week and really see how it feels!

The last couple of nights i've really struggled with sleep. The vital sleep couldn't have come at a better time! I'm going to start with half a dose (which equals 2.5mg melatonin), and see how i go. Hoepfully i start to feel more like a human again!

I noticed a lot of hair shedding in the shower but that may be because I'm due a haircut or from changing shampoos a few weeks ago. I will keep an eye on it. My previous log, i thought it was the Anavar i had tried for the first time and only lasted 2 weeks before i got scared and stopped because this happened.

Is that a sign that it wasn't the Anavar and i can try again? :unsure:

You bigger boys might not understand, but today i got to do something tonight, that i've never EVER been able to do!

Eat a whole pizza for dinner, while still eating my other meals, and hitting my macros!

Anavar usually causes shedding during the cycle. Hair-loss from weight loss however usually happens around 6 weeks after - that could be a culprit?

The last couple of nights i've really struggled with sleep. The vital sleep couldn't have come at a better time! I'm going to start with half a dose (which equals 2.5mg melatonin), and see how i go. Hoepfully i start to feel more like a human again!

I noticed a lot of hair shedding in the shower but that may be because I'm due a haircut or from changing shampoos a few weeks ago. I will keep an eye on it. My previous log, i thought it was the Anavar i had tried for the first time and only lasted 2 weeks before i got scared and stopped because this happened.

📝Week 6 - Tuesday Update📝

Feel very spoiled today with TWO touchdowns from some very generous vendors!

You bigger boys might not understand, but today i got to do something tonight, that i've never EVER been able to do!

Eat a whole pizza for dinner, while still eating my other meals, and hitting my macros!

30+ years of salads and diet sodas, and my calories are finally high enough, to fit an entire pizza in for dinner, without fasting or starving all day!

It was admittedly a smaller oven one, but it felt GOOOD...until about 30 minutes later when i was laying on the couch regretting my life :ROFLMAO:

Lesson learned, bulk on whole foods, not pizza (i may not fully learn this lesson ;))

💪Exercise💪

Monday - lower body

This wasn't my best workout. I woke up super early, couldn't get back to sleep so i decided to go to the gym. Realistically i should have rested and tried to go back to sleep.

Oh well, a bad workout is better than no workout!

Tuesday - pull.

Tried the pull ups unassisted where you only focus on the negative. The gym was super busy so I had to do these towards the end of the workout and didn't feel that great doing it.

Hopefully I can do them earlier in the workout next week and really see how it feels!

Anavar usually causes shedding during the cycle. Hair-loss from weight loss however usually happens around 6 weeks after - that could be a culprit?

I’ll keep an eye on it. I do have pretty thin hair and I’m somewhat prone to shedding. I have to tear apart the head of my vacuum cleaner pretty often to dig it all out 🤣

I had such a good sleep just on 1.

I’m pretty small so I usually start most things at a half dose. Even just the 1 cap was the best sleep I’d had in a loooong time.

Wow I feel so much better after just a couple of good night's sleep. Thanks again to @RGSX for letting me try their Vital Sleep support. It's helped get me into sleep and back to sleep when I wake which has given me a massive refresh!

Alot of boring Chicken, Rice and veggies, not the most photo worthy stuff! Although with some soy sauce, spicy chilli sauce and kimchi, its very good. I could easily eat it all the time (which i basically did these last couple of days).

I've had my period the last couple of days, so the rest was needed. I do get pretty lethargic during this time, and often dont feel like doing much.

Im glad my cycle is normal, which is always a win!

Thursday - Lower 2.

Had a bit of a headache today (hormonal I think as it's common this time in my cycle) but still managed a pretty good start to my workout.

Got the 55kg squat. 🏋️‍♀️

But by the end of the workout I was struggling and had to step it back a bit. Somewhat normal during this time of the month (for me anyway).

As mentioned feeling so much better after some quality sleep and really looking forward to seeing how it continues. I have alwayss struggled with sleep quality and this is the best i've slept in ages.

Those nagging feelings of being too soft are creeping back in. I need to remind myself it's all part of it! I know its just the time of the month, water retention, a bit bloated and just an overall "bleh" feeling.

The early 2010's fitness culture did irreparable damage to some of us :cry:

Is it the joint or the hip flexor? My hip flexors get tight from doing a lot of squat/ hinging patterns. I stretch them each morning, but otherwise the combo of dry needling & active release from my massage therapist works a treat 😊 you can prob claim for that via your health too!

hmm, thats actually a good point, i didnt even consider the hip flexor seperately from the joint.

So I don't normally log on a Friday but I have news I wanted to share...

Something I hadn't talked about previously in my log is that I was diagnosed with osteopenia several years ago shortly after an autoimmune disorder diagnosis.

While I consider that I've always done some type of exercise, since my diagnosis I have really tried to prioritise weight training and calcium/vitamin D intake as recommended, and have gotten my autoimmune condition under control (with a couple of flare ups along the way).

Part of my reasoning for starting the GH was the potential benefits to bone density. I'm so pleased to say I had a recent DEXA and had no sign of osteopenia!!

This is such a relief as an ageing female concerned about the health of my bones as I think about entering perimenopause in the coming years and menopause (eventually). ❤️

Ooooh my hip flexors get really tight from driving a lot. Causes lower back pain sometimes. And when I spent a short time incarcerated we had a group that went to the workout room everyday and there was like a dip and pull-up station thing? And everyone was doing straight leg leg lifts, if I’m describing it correctly. Well it was hurting our backs a lot because it didn’t really hit the abs as much as really really the hip flexors. And then we’d end up just playing cards and chess and getting really stiff. As soon as I stopped doing those leg lifts it got better so we all stopped doing them. What’s that forward lunge type of yoga pose called? That’s my favorite to loosen up my hip flexors. Works every time

I also think you have a great physique for a sprinkle of anavar to take you to a next level, low dose to keep the sides at baby its amazing what it can do for a woman at such low doses (literally 10 to 20 times less than a man would take).

So I don't normally log on a Friday but I have news I wanted to share...

Something I hadn't talked about previously in my log is that I was diagnosed with osteopenia several years ago shortly after an autoimmune disorder diagnosis.

While I consider that I've always done some type of exercise, since my diagnosis I have really tried to prioritise weight training and calcium/vitamin D intake as recommended, and have gotten my autoimmune condition under control (with a couple of flare ups along the way).

Part of my reasoning for starting the GH was the potential benefits to bone density. I'm so pleased to say I had a recent DEXA and had no sign of osteopenia!!

Pushing through. I think I'm mostly over the negativity of my last couple posts and embracing the changes that have already occured and are still to come.
Glad you pushed through this. The shebulkz really is more of a mental thing for you because physically what I see is amazing progress and a great look for you!

Isn't @MrsOhdamnsBOSS great LOL. I can already sense the kind of person she'd be and she'd be a blast to be around. She'd be the one putting me in my place as I tried to mess with her LOL

My body would barely walk me around the house so I took the day off to nap and chill and felt so much better for it. I'm still tense but am functioning! 😂
Listening to our bodies is a skill that we get better at, well done!

Also tracked my water as @Panda22 suggested as thats probably contributed to my weight fluctuations. I was 3.5-4L each day so will try to be consistent with that.
This is why it's important not to beat yourself up over even a 2-3lb (0.75-1.25kg) shocker from one day to the next one the scale

It proves maybe I can do some of these things I previously thought I wasn't made for. 😁

I also think you have a great physique for a sprinkle of anavar to take you to a next level, low dose to keep the sides at baby its amazing what it can do for a woman at such low doses (literally 10 to 20 times less than a man would take).
Its tempting, but i want to save some cards to play later, when i need them!

I was walking on air when i got the news. I couldn't believe it. I fully expected it to get worse and worse as i got older, but nope, its reversed!

That doesnt normally happen as we age :ROFLMAO:

So I weighed in at 48.3kg on Friday (my usual weight tracking day) which is down a tiny bit from last week (48.4kg).

I weight myself every day and my weight hit a high of 49 kgs, which made me think i wouldn't increase calories.

But then today I weighed in at 47.8kg, so I'm going to increase by 100cals for the rest of the week and see how we go.

Ground beef, jasmine rice, eggs, chihuahua cheese, Greek yogurt, berries, honey, mint chocolate protein bars, corn tortillas, butter, broccoli, carrots. Redmonds salt, cholula birria sauce, Louisiana hot sauce. That’s my whole grocery list.

Roughly weekly, a nice lady makes me dinner and I eat whatever she makes until I can’t move😊 and usually take leftovers. Last one was t bones, garlic bread, Mac and cheese. Before that, seafood boil. That was a feast!

If I don’t meal prep, because I am traveling usually, and working outside, often very rural, I will eat like a pothead trucker. Just gas station pizza and hotdogs and candy. Pure misery hahahaha. So I just make all of my food on the weekend except breakfast. It’s still not enough most of the time

This really isn't much I wouldn't stress. Since you're shebulking with added carbs this is just water and it could be your menstrual cycle too and where you're at with that. Keep water consistent and high.

Sunday - push.

Got my 15kg dumbbell chest press again but didn't leave a lot left in the tank for the rest of the workout.

I did do some dead hangs to finish just for fun - 3 sets 20 seconds. I'm so keen to get a pull up so think I should be adding in some extra back exercises when I can!

If you saw my update on Friday you would've seen my bone density is now within normal range for my age after being classed 'osteopenia' a few years ago. So I'm still on a high from that and feeling good about my progress not just in terms of strength or physique. :love:

This really isn't much I wouldn't stress. Since you're shebulking with added carbs this is just water and it could be your menstrual cycle too and where you're at with that. Keep water consistent and high.

Ground beef, jasmine rice, eggs, chihuahua cheese, Greek yogurt, berries, honey, mint chocolate protein bars, corn tortillas, butter, broccoli, carrots. Redmonds salt, cholula birria sauce, Louisiana hot sauce. That’s my whole grocery list.

Roughly weekly, a nice lady makes me dinner and I eat whatever she makes until I can’t move😊 and usually take leftovers. Last one was t bones, garlic bread, Mac and cheese. Before that, seafood boil. That was a feast!
