One of the tricks regarding sleep is, regardless of the length (and sometimes we need longer) is allowing enough time AFTER waking. Typically 4 hours. There IS an argument to be made for being made to wake up from deeper sleep vs lighter sleep. The deeper sleep issue is it can and will take longer to 'liven up'.

Had a great workout today. Still waiting to see the orthopedic surgeon for my mri results before I start lifting super heavy on leg days. Chilled at the pool the rest of the day.

Hgh typically doesn’t bother me. I’ve run up to 16iu at times. When my liver enzymes get jacked up from a heavy oral, that’s usually the culprit. For me anyway. 😃

Yeah, I definitely feel like I’m back in the swing of things now. Strength is way up and size is coming back quickly. I think if I had one more opportunity for a bulk before I complete, I could place top 3, maybe even 1st easily. My coach seems to think so anyway.

I slept around 9 hours last night. Hit the ground running this morning. I had crazy energy all day today. I saw my orthopedic surgeon today to go over my mri results for my knee. They found a defect in the cartilage that will require surgery. Although, he said we can put it off for a while if that’s what I want. So I just got a cortisone shot in the knee and I’ll take leg day off for a couple weeks before I get back to business. So a little bad news and a little good. I’ll post what the mri said in the side notes at the bottom.

I slept around 9 hours last night. Hit the ground running this morning. I had crazy energy all day today. I saw my orthopedic surgeon today to go over my mri results for my knee. They found a defect in the cartilage that will require surgery. Although, he said we can put it off for a while if that’s what I want. So I just got a cortisone shot in the knee and I’ll take leg day off for a couple weeks before I get back to business. So a little bad news and a little good. I’ll post what the mri said in the side notes at the bottom.

but the knee worries me, why you have so many injuries? was this long term? concerned for you
maybe bulking and putting on weight tight on the knee, not sure how serious

It’s all just old sports injuries or wear and tear. I know I’m gonna have to have a knee replacement. I’m just trying to make the most out of the time I have left before I get it done.

I’m sure we’ll start out with another arthroscopy, but last time he said I didn’t have any cartilage left. So I’ve already accepted a knee replacement coming, but hopefully I still have a few years left.

what would have cost such a thing to happen
It’s an old sports injury exacerbated by wear and tear over the years. Nothing could have really been done except maybe choosing a less strenuous profession.

How well do you think the red light therapy works?
 
I took them both for around almost 3 months post surgery. I don’t think they will be able to repair cartilage or lack there of.

@Boxcutter actually bpc157 and tb500 can do wonders for recovery, even cartilage possible, consider it if you can :)

I don’t really have any cartilage left after the last surgery. He drilled into the bone marrow last time to try and stimulate new cartilage growth and I took bpc/tb while it was healing and this is how it ended up. The only real option I have is replacement honestly, but I’m putting that off as long as I can.
 
Is there a chance for the knee to heal up or is surgery the only option?
No, I could have an arthroscopy to try and smooth the defect but I really don’t have any cartilage left. So honestly knee replacement is what I’ll have to do if I really want it fixed. Although, after that my lifting days are probably over, so it will be put off as long as possible.
