Been taking some multi-vitamins but reading some posts here, guys really pushing fish oil, how crucial is it? I don't want to take the liquid, takes horrible and not going to do it. I guess I can do caps but is it really needed is the question. A lot of hype behind fish oil and how about the mercury.

fish oil (omega 3) is good for you bro...i suggest it in all multi vitamins...example n2guard has it....

All supplements get tested for heavy metals by law. So you might even be safer taking the capsules than eating the fish.

I like the Krill Oil that N2BM sells, it is much better source of Omegas than fish oil. Yes you need fish oil, even if you dont workout you need the good fats in your diet for health period.

There are essential amino acids and essential fats. Fish oil helps get your essential fats into your diet. So yes, it's important.

Man up. Take yer oils.

"its definitely beneficial... just one of the many components of n2guard... instead of buying each and everyone of these separate, it would make a lot more sense to get it all and some with n2guard."
Strongly and respectfully disagree with you,Looking over N2Guard its key ingredients IE the one's that work are very under dosed,It would be far greater to your Nac,Liv 52,Policonol,and fish oil seperate because 3.2 grams of fish oil is needed to really reap the full health benefits and N2G does not have that...To be honest you guys really should lower the price or up the dosages to a beneficial level for the average gear user.

Fish oil is cheap as hell, and has a lot of benefits for your heart, joints, and overall health. I dose 3g every day

Morgan you a real gambler. On topic fish oil is good as long as you can find good ratio EPA/DHA(spelling?) product for a good price.

Fish oil is very beneficial, not only for heart health, but it does wonders for my achy joints. I just get the caps and take three grams a day. I also eat a good bit of fish, olive oil and avocados.

I have to Agree with you.
Not All Fish Oil Tastes Good.
I went through quite a Few over the Years until I found Carlson's.
It tastes very good, and it doesn't Repeat if you take it as Directed (after a meal)............................... JP
P.S.
In all the years that I've been using it, it only Repeated Once.
And that was because I took it on an Empty Stomach - just tasted like Lemons/comes in Natural Lemon or Orange Flavor

JP, you buy that online or retail?

I usually get it Online from Vitamin Shoppe.
If you go to a Vitamin Shoppe, ask them to Match the online Price.
In fact if you get anything else, also ask them to Match the Online Price, it's always Cheaper........................ JP

He gets the extra fish that steve catches and wrings the oil out with his bare hands.
I wouldn't mind at all taking Stevesmi's extra fish.
Today I'll just go to my Local Fish Store, and get some Fresh Caught Red Snapper.............................. JP

fish oil is amazing.. Especially a must for people lifting for the amazing benefits it has on your joints

Fish oil is a must imo cheap and great benefits

krill is one option if you prefer to stick with sea derived sources. really it's just omega 3s, 6 etc if i'm not mistaken.

Eat fish and avocados, real food will be always better than the supplements there is no sense a supplement to be better than real food since its made from it

Need to? no. Does it help if you do? damn right. get a mouthful of watter and toss em in. you'll be good. and wont taste anything either.

Yup... Helps my joints for sure. I take it daily, both in liquid and pill form

so I think the answer for you is YES take em! either take your pills or eat more fish... even flaxseed has omega3 so you can even try that too!

I take omegas in pill form which is good for supplemental, However, I recommend eating fatty fish. ..I try to eat salmon 2 times per week...not only does it help with joints, overall heath, but hair, skin and nails as well. Also try adding flax seeds, Chia seeds and/or hemp seeds to your diet.

The "Nordic Naturals" brand has capsules that are slightly lemon flavored. I don't notice the taste at all (I do a half hour after taking some other brands).

Whole Foods has that one.

nordic naturals and carlson are 2 very high quality oil brands i take udos usually but i try and keep up with a fish oil daily it can benefit alot of areas

As long as you have one fish meal every other day, you will get a good amount of natural fish oils. Supplementing it is not a bad idea but I rather always consume the whole food.

Vitamin d is also very important to muscle growth I just wish they made avocado pill cause the consistently to me don't go

Anyone chime in with KRILL OIL yet?

I have taken Krill Oil in lew of fish oil. The only difference I noticed is the size of the pills. What is MOST IMPORTANT when looking into fish oil is the amount of EHA/DHA that is in them. NOT the amount of fish oil. The bottle will say 1000mg fish oil, then underneath itll have the amount of EHA and DHA, that is what is important in the fish oil. Generally if you have high volume workouts 5-6 days a week you should be looking to get 3-4g (GRAMS) of EHA/DHA a day. That could be upwards of 15 pills. The Krill Oil pills are just smaller.

I currently take SFH liquid fish oil. they have like 5 flavors, lemon and orange are the best. Chocolate and vanilla taste like death.

1tsp gets you 3.4g of EHA/DHA. Bottle lasts me like a month and a half.

It is a natural blood thinner though, that much can affect clotting.

Either way you probably should be taking it. Do some research. There have been many trials of massive dosing of EHA/DHA reversing the early signs of alzheimers....in addition to all the fitness related benefits.
